Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!
Hello Nov sleevers ...4 days post opt doing well...I had to stay in hospital for 2 days because my white blood cell count was up but better safe then sorry....I didn't even crave any thanksgiving stuff yesterday...my goal today is trying to get more protein in today...probably more broth cause although I am getting it in the isopure has a weird filmy after taste...everything is trial and error right now and I am getting better once I figured it out...my mom took me out for a drive today, I was starting to get cabin fever.... .btw warning for all pre opts the worse time of this experience for me was the the liquid you have to drink with the leak test...I have no words to describe the awfulness of this liquid...I had difficulty holding it down but I did until the test was over and it all came up...worse experience ever

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!
Thanks so much for all the heads up...going for surgery on Monday and I can't wait, although not gonna lie a bit nervous because I have never had surgery before. Anyway I have a question or situation. My family has a big Thanksgiving gathering about 30 min away at my cousins house, my grandfather will be there and he was just diagnosed with prostrate cancer stage 4...he is 89. I wanted to go to this because it might be our last Thanksgiving together. Pain wise do you think I would be able to go only 3 days after surgery? Do you think it is reasonable to go?

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!
This too is my first surgery ever. During my upper GI they put me to sleep which was a first for me as well. I was scared the days leading up to it. When they put me under all I remember was the Dr saying ok you are starting to fall....and then I was waking up in the other room. Truthfully it was the best sleep I have ever gotten. The feelings you are having are normal. When I get close to my date I will probably be a nervous wreck. Just concentrate on the positive.

30 Day Count Down Begins Today!
I teach elementary English as a Second Language...my students are K5ers to 2nd graders and vary in languages. I am also the color guard advisor for the HS marching band and indoor guard and I direct the High School musical, we are doing Barnum this year and I just got back from auditions (I moved auditions up from Nov to Oct so I could recover with one less thing to worry about as practice starts in Jan). What did you teach

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!
Hi all....my name is Cara and I am 35 yrs old single no kids from Southern NJ my surgery date is 11/19 at RJW hospital. I have battled my weight since puberty. I know weight has been a factor in my relationship status. I have dated some not so nice guys or guys who couldn't get pass my weight. I am not doing this for them though...I am doing this for me. I want to be healthier (high blood pressure and diabetes run in my family). I want to boost my confidence. Anyway I am glad I found this group

Have to start getting my lesson plans and house in order...can you tell I am a planner. Italy sounds awesome....I went 2 summers ago and loved it...gotta go back

The Beginning Of The New Me
Hi, my name is Cara and I started this blog to document my journey this fall. After a lot of thinking and debating I decided that I to have Bariatrics Surgery. I came to this decision because I want to be healthier and feel better. On November 19th I will be getting a Sleeve Gastrectomy. So until then I will post about how I came to this decision, how I am preparing for the surgery, and why I am doing this. After the surgery I will post about my transformation and the ups and downs I face. I am looking forward to my journey and all the changes coming my way
