  6. Thanks so much for all the heads up...going for surgery on Monday and I can't wait, although not gonna lie a bit nervous because I have never had surgery before. Anyway I have a question or situation. My family has a big Thanksgiving gathering about 30 min away at my cousins house, my grandfather will be there and he was just diagnosed with prostrate cancer stage 4...he is 89. I wanted to go to this because it might be our last Thanksgiving together. Pain wise do you think I would be able to go only 3 days after surgery? Do you think it is reasonable to go?

  14. This too is my first surgery ever. During my upper GI they put me to sleep which was a first for me as well. I was scared the days leading up to it. When they put me under all I remember was the Dr saying ok you are starting to fall....and then I was waking up in the other room. Truthfully it was the best sleep I have ever gotten. The feelings you are having are normal. When I get close to my date I will probably be a nervous wreck. Just concentrate on the positive.

  20. Hi all....my name is Cara and I am 35 yrs old single no kids from Southern NJ my surgery date is 11/19 at RJW hospital. I have battled my weight since puberty. I know weight has been a factor in my relationship status. I have dated some not so nice guys or guys who couldn't get pass my weight. I am not doing this for them though...I am doing this for me. I want to be healthier (high blood pressure and diabetes run in my family). I want to boost my confidence. Anyway I am glad I found this group
  21. My surgery is 11/19 so less then a month away. I have stepped up my workouts. I have told my supervisors and fellow teachers and put in for my days. Have to start getting my lesson plans and house in order...can you tell I am a planner. Italy sounds awesome....I went 2 summers ago and loved it...gotta go back
  22. Hi, my name is Cara and I started this blog to document my journey this fall. After a lot of thinking and debating I decided that I to have Bariatrics Surgery. I came to this decision because I want to be healthier and feel better. On November 19th I will be getting a Sleeve Gastrectomy. So until then I will post about how I came to this decision, how I am preparing for the surgery, and why I am doing this. After the surgery I will post about my transformation and the ups and downs I face. I am looking forward to my journey and all the changes coming my way
