  1. Hey Diva,, Unfortunately I have had this said to me as well...I react the same exact way...however, depending on my mindset there may be some "choice" words thrown in there too. One time I actually had a FAT guy say something like that to me and I couldn't believe it! lol...You are hot no matter what and will only get hotter as your weight goes down and confidence goes up...look out world for Sassy and Diva!!!!
  2. My nutritionist told me if you arent getting enough protein hair my fall out. Just something else to consider...
  3. My doctor told me no hormones a month before and a month after because of blood clots, so after a month i assume you can use whatever. Make sure you discuss your surgery with your gyno. Good luck!
  4. Heard back yesterday that my employer (I am a public school teacher) does not cover wls of any kind. So I was wondering if anyone else has paid for a second insurance coverage specifically for your surgery. Self pay of course doesn't cover any complications from surgery. What company do you suggest? My hospital is a health first hospital. I am really disappointed ...will be writing a letter to my employer to complain for sure!
  5. I thought dumping didn't happen to sleeve patients...
  6. My mom is 67 and spoke to surgeon who said he had done the surgery on people in 70's and they have been successful...
  7. That is great! I am so scared when we have kids that I will pass on my bad habits or fat thinking to my children...that's why I need to get it together before I have any!
  8. Hi Brian, I am still waiting for insurance approval, so am very new to the wls journey! I really relate to your frustrations...I am a counseling student and I have told clients that your own mind can be your worst enemy! My brain justifies every bite of good I take and it is exhausting...I have been considering seeing a behavioral therapist who can help me re wire my thinking process when it comes to food. That might be something that could help. Also, check your community for support groups, either for bariatric patients our maybe overeaters anonymous...best of luck with your exciting journey! Can't wait to see your progress!! Rani
  9. I would say get new doctors...or at least a second opinion
  10. Woah Holly! That's a big baby...god bless you!! Lol Yes, we learned and that hormone as well. Thanks!
  11. Wow! Thank you so much for all of the great advice and sharing your stories. You are all great inspiration. I have been leaning toward sleeve because of many of the reasons listed here. I don't feel I am an emotional eater, I am just simply always hungry!!!! I was intrigued with sleeve when the surgeon explained about the elimination of the hunger horomones...It is an exciting, nerve racking, emotional time starting this journey and I feel it is time for me to take control of my future! Thanks again!
  12. Hello, this is my first post...went to the bariatric seminar last night and can't decide which is for me...did anyone else waiver between the two and how did you ultimately decide? I have a lot to lose...bmi about 50 and 33 yo...want to have kids soon and no major health concerns yet...any advice would be appreciated!
