  1. I have met with my nutritionist a few times and always forget to ask how to set a goal weight. I thought it would be part of the education for the surgery but it has not. What did you all do?
  2. I decided on Dr. Shuster from Mesa. I saw a few bad reviews about his office and bedside manner but I've seen his work and asked several general surgeons who they thought would be my best option. I sat in a lecture that he did and picked him for his arrogance as well as what I've seen in practice. He isn't over confident but is sure to make me feel comfortable.
  3. I am a critical care nurse and see complications very frequently. I have seen horror stories from Mexico but have also seen poor work from American physicians. It can be difficult choosing a physician to provide you with care. Look at as many sites as possible and see how people rate the doctor before you make a decision. I just have to pray that my research has led me to the right physician. Guess I will see on October 25th.
  4. My surgery is on the 25th as well. My surgeon is having me dring 4 Protein shakes a day to get my protein in. Each shake has to be a minimum of 20gms of protein and less than 200 calories. Seems to work well since I've lost 21 lbs on the pre op liquid diet.
  5. Mccara, we have the same day! You are the first I have seen with my date. Are you on your diet yet? Having any issues? Congrats and have a great surgery day!
  6. It's very frustrating and I'm so sad about your cheat. I work with a girl who had the same procedure and she told me to be like her... Every three days she went out and got a taco. I don't want to do that. We just new to keep pushing on. I have your back, we can do this.
  7. I'm freaking starving today. I am 6 days in to my liquid diet and I am having a hard time. Unfortunately I am cooking for the family and that makes it worse.
  8. Thank you for the comments and help, I will definitely check out the video and start working.
  9. Hello everyone, I live in litchfield park and will be having my surgery October 25th at Gateway.
  10. I will be very pleased to be down 35lbs. I will have to try that treadmill interval idea. Sounds like a great idea.
  11. Thanks! I've been walking and trying to increase exercise. I promised my daughter I would do the race with her.
  12. My date is set for October 25th. I am so excited despite the two week liquid diet. I cant wait to get this roller coaster moving to a better healthier lifestyle.
  13. I have my surgery date planned for October 25th and just signed up for my very first 5k run/walk on January 26th. How much weight should I expect to lose in the three months after surgery? I'm afraid I won't be ready to run.
