Are u big enough?
I'm tall too and my highest was 296 but normally 280. People have asked if I was big enough to do the surgery. They also say they don't see me as an overweight person. I take it as a compliment and am relieved they don't see me the way I see myself!

thinking about Mexican for lunch
When I went for Mexican, I ordered shrimp fajitas with charro beans and gave the rice to my husband.

"I'm praying for you!"
Whether or not you believe, it's always nice to receive positive energy.

Itemizing the surgery when filing taxes
You can but you have to have proof of medical necessity. That's what I understood anyway. I didn't claim mine but I did type in the numbers and nothing changed. It has to be more than 7.5% of your income I think.

Gallbladder!
Weird, it happened after I ate chicken too!

HERE IT GOES...
That's good to know! I drink up until I eat but wait 30 minutes after. I had my surgery in MX, so I just have been winging it after a few months post op. Where do you get your vitamins?

BIG FAT PEOPLE!
I'm just brainstorming here not calling anyone out, but wouldn't self medicating with food be a form of addiction? I mean, if you didn't have food to self medicate, how would you feel? Would you think about eating until you gave in? Would there be any side effects? A lot of people eat a lot at night because that's usually when you're not busy. I know that's the case for me. I still get up off the couch, stand in the kitchen, stare in the fridge, then realize what I'm doing. Maybe it's just habit but what's the difference between a habit you can't break and an addiction?

HERE IT GOES...
Welp, in my defense, I was making jokes about a straw causing one to gain 50 pounds. Not people who have real physical side effects. Plus, I was making jokes to defend the OP against posters implying she's a moron for even thinking about drinking from a straw. Only the gool Lord up above can shame me!!!! Can I get an amen?!?......no? .....okay......haha

HERE IT GOES...
Who was making fun of people who have trouble using a straw. I reread every post and still missed it.

Gallbladder!
I just had a granola bar this morning and I feel ok now. But you've been having these symptoms for a while, right? And May 3rd, I'll be 6 months out.

Gallbladder!
Does that sound like your symptoms, Aussie?

Gallbladder!
First I thought I ate something bad. About 30 minutes after I ate there was a sharp pain under my ribs. I layed down and it made it so much worse. The pain radiated from under my ribs to chest. No matter how I moved it hurt. When the pain started subsiding I could feel that it originated on the right side under my ribs.

Gallbladder!
Last night, for the first time in my life, I had a gallbladder attack! It lasted 2 1/2 hours and I would have rather been giving birth with no drugs!!! I'm scared! Does this mean it has to be removed?? What can I do to prevent surgery?

Thoughts?
My poor husband can't gain weight if his life depended on it! The only time he had little success is when he lifts weights, drinks protein shakes, eats lots of peanut butter, tuna- lots of protein and high calorie foods. He never has been overweight though, so I think there will be a fine line for your husband to gain a few pounds and going back to old habits. Maybe strength training will help him bulk up.

HERE IT GOES...
I read the post about the lady gaining 50 pounds to my husband. He said, "what, was she drinking gravy through a straw?" Bahaha!

I wonder if your sleeve stretches from everyday swallowing. Or metabolic processes where the byproduct is gas. .....must sit still and hold my breath for minimal stretchage!

The beloved "Food Funeral".
I think that's amazing, Lipstick! I wish I would have done that as well. I are so much before my pre op diet, I was completely miserable! I ate crap that I didn't even eat before and gained 10 pounds. Taking control now is great! You may have obsessed over your food funeral before but you stopped it! That's admirable. If I had done that, I'd be at least 10 pounds lighter right now. You are one step closer to ridding yourself of bad habits than I was before surgery. I'm sure you'll have difficult days. We all do,but nothing in what you've posted indicates the need for professional help. Good luck with the pre op and surgery!

Having you been looking at things differently since being sleeved?
Honestly, I never notice or care how other people eat.

HERE IT GOES...
It helps me too. If I drink straight from a cup, I get a pain in my chest followed by a big ol burp!

HERE IT GOES...
And I'd like to know the science behind drinking from a straw causing your stomach to stretch. I just can't see any correlation between the two.
