  1. I think people are coming from a good place, but nobody knows you well enough or is certified to tell you what you are or are not ready for. I ate a complete monsterous pig pre op with several food funerals but am doing great post op. People probably would have said I wasn't ready either but here I am 6 months out 73 pounds down with not one single regret! It sounds like you've spent a lot of time preparing for this. I've got faith in you!
  2. Hey Kelly! How have been doing since you posted this?
  3. Y'all are right! I'm going to work on my crazy brain and keep tracking! Thanks!
  4. Love it! You look beautiful!
  5. Does anyone not track their calories? I'm an on and off again tracker. What I've noticed is when I track my calories throughout the day, I obsess a d eat my max calorie allowance. If I don't track throughout the day, I'll do it before bed because I'm curious. But I notice I only eat like 600-700 calories. My mind likes to play evil tricks on me! Thoughts?
  6. I don't know the answer but do remember reading someone's post about their nutritionist saying don't eat back the calories. If I'm super hungry, I may eat an extra snack but not the full calories burned.
  7. I get what you're saying. I went with Almanza who has a bad rep and I do feel like he is very passionate about money. I feel I am very lucky to have had no complications but don't know if I'd recommend him. But he gave me a new shot at life. He made my dream a reality by being able to afford this surgery and for that I'm grateful! I put my trust in him and God and felt totally at peace with my decision! Here's to our rebirth!
  8. You inspired me to do the same. I put on my 22s and walked in the living room like nothing was going on. My husband was like what the hell are you wearing?!? He never saw me that big! It was definitely a reality check for him haha! I'm a 16 now.
  9. I would follow ut now with no mistake. You don't eant to get there, have them open you up, then close you back up and not be able to do the procedure! The purpose of the diet is to shrink the liver so they can get to your stomach.
  10. Lol, I was talking about you Laura!
  11. Well they just took my blood and I have an ultrasound on Friday. I'm praying that I have minimal stones and can be fixed with medicine. Good news is my doctor was thrilled with my weight loss (haven't seen her in a year) and actually supportive of my decision to go to MX. She even has several patients who have done the same. So now I have adequate follow up and she's checking my Vitamin levels! Whew!
  12. Since my gallbladder attack on Thursday, I'm scared to eat......I've been living off granola bars and salad lol. Getting it checked in 45 minutes!
  13. Eating so much meat is starting to gross me out too. I don't know why lol. I've read about some bad effects from eating entirely raw foods but can't remember what it was. You might want to do research on that and see what you find. Meat substitutes gross me out even more. If you look at the ingredients, the list takes up half the package! It'd be really hard to get adequate protein with the little amount we're able to eat, but I'm sure its doable. There are other vegan sleevers, I wonder how they do it! Good luck, sorry I'm not much help lol.
  14. I thought Mexico was not an option for me, but I started researching and made it happen! It's something to consider. I did save $5000 and was going to use a school loan for the rest but I decided on MX and didn't need the loan. Also a lot of hospitals or surgeons will help you with financing. Just ask around.
  15. I agree it's best to follow the doctor's orders. I just went off about the negativity on VSG in general. Haha! I also understand how hard those first couple of months are.
  16. I already got shamed for defending straws in a previous post, so I won't go there. Haha! But that is a good example. People go as far as saying you weren't ready for surgery or are stupid for not following you surgeon's advice if you drink from a straw. Well what if your surgeon never told you not to? People assume all rules are the same.
  17. We're all so different and what works for me may not work for someone else. I think the negativity stems from people acting like they are better or absolutely right whether they follow rules or not. We're all adults and, I hope, able to make decisions for ourselves. I agree the name calling over a simple disagreement is ridiculous.
  18. I think I started a thread like this too when I was newly sleeved. It's very common and I think it might have something to do with hormones just like when you're pregnant, you have crazy dreams too. The only dream I can remember because it was so scary was that there was a zombie apocalypse! Haha!
  19. Awww girl, don't sweat it. There's plenty of times when I've wanted to straight up punch my husband in the face! I love the man to death, but ya know, men are hard to live with sometimes! Good job on resisting temptation! He'll get over it.
