  1. Same here. I'm 3 weeks out and I'm still very weak and tired.
  2. I had 6 incisions total. I still don't know why but will ask my doctor on Wednesday. I think the norm is 5?
  3. Mine is on the right side too. It's where they took out the part of my stomach they.
  4. Is it normal to still be nauseated 3 weeks post op? I had nausea bad at the beginning, then it seemed to subside. When I tried to transform to puréed foods, it started back up again, so I went back on liquids but I'm still very nauseated. It's hard getting my protein down. I can barely get anything down. I think I actually had my first dumping syndrome because I drank my protein drink right befit eating. I vommited and was nauseated the entire night and it hasnt stopped. I see my doctor on Wednesday and I'll ask, but wanted to know if anyone else deals with this? I'm on zofran for the nausea and it makes me so sleepy. I've been sleeping way too much.
  5. Congrats!!! That's awesome:))
  6. Kim, they give you something for your anxiety before the surgery. I didn't even care about anything after they have me that. It goes so fast, you don't have time to be nervous. My surgery was on 10/8. You will do great:))
  7. Congratulations on your weight loss!!! That's awesome!!
  8. I went through the same thing when I was little. My mom always made those kinds of comments and now does it to my kids. I know she means well because she's a nurse and has seen me go through so much, that she doesn't want my kids going through it too, but the comments are hurtful and they do last a long time. I stated very small most of my life because of her comments. I was 135 and I'm 5'7". I barely ate because I was so "scared" of getting "fat". But after having my kids and thyroid problems, gained a lot of weight. I never tell my daughters anything about their weight. My oldest is actually pretty small, but my youngest is built just like me and she could lose a little. I'm so scared they get like me but would never tell them anything mean. Sometimes I'll say, we all need to start eating right and get healthy. I know words hurt and that's why I try to change the words into a positive way. If only everyone knew how harsh words can be. I'm surprised I didn't have an eating disorder.

  10. Yes, bring Chapstick and suck on icecubes. They will be your friend for a while. My mouth was so dry after. My lips are still peeling.
  11. All I brought was my pj's , slippers and a Robe for when I had to walk. I was more comfortable in my own pj's but you may need help changing. I couldn't bend after to out my underwear on, lol.
  12. I've leaned to always ask for a phlebotomist or the head of the nurses. They know what they are doing. I'm sorry you had to go through that. It hurts! Feel better soon:))
  13. No it's not. I took some more MOM tonight to make sure it's all out. I know, Tmi, but it happenes, lol.
  14. I took the Milk Of Magnesia last night and it worked great. No cramps at all. It went down very easy too. Thanks for the advice everyone!
  15. Thanks everyone for the great advice. Ive been trying to drink as much as I can. I have not been dehydrated yet, thank God. I will try the MOM tonight and see what happens. I'm not really eating that much but I know I have to go. I can feel it. My tummy is full and hurts.
  16. Thanks everyone:) I will try milk of magnesia and start on the fiber gummies. Hopefully I don't gag when I take the MOM. Yuck!
  17. I have a natural laxative, but it is a pill. It's not big at all and it's supposed to not cause cramping. I wonder if I can take that?
  18. Hi Sarah:) I am new to this site too. I had my surgery on 10/8. I just saw your picture of your IV in your arm. Ouch! We're you able to move around after with it in your arm? Normally, they put it in your hand. Anyway, I feel the same way you do. I can't wait to drop this weight and go out and live life! Good luck to you.
  19. The only reason my doctor did the barium swallow on me was because I have a hiatal hernia and have had ulcers too. I don't think they do it if you've never had problems with your stomach. And trust me, that stuff is nasty, lol.
  20. I hope this is in the right place. If not, please feel free to move it. I have not been doing #2 at all in about 3 days. That's not like me because I go every day. What can I take that is safe for my stomach to be able to go? I'm almost 2 weeks post op. Thanks to whoever replies:))
