  1. Hello Everyone My bame is Marilyn and I am new to this group and the site as well. I am 33 years old and have been diagnosed with PCOS since 2009. I never had the issues of missing periods or heavy periods, but I had and still have issues with gaining excessive amount of weight, hair loss and facial hair growth. I do laser treatments for the facial hair growth and I am loving it because it has helped me drastically. I still have some growth, but I do not have to be in the mirror everyday. I get a touch up maybe every 3-4 months. It's well worth it for me. As for why I want surgery now, well it took me a long time to finally come to that decision. When I went to see my OB and got on the scale and it read 241 pounds, I literally cried. I knew I was heavy but never imagined I weighed that much. I was already having self esteem issues and not liking my body, that just made it worse. I talked to my OB about how I felt and she was the one who recommended me to weight management group I am currently going to. I told myself I had to try. I have finished all of my preop appointments and got approval for surgery this week. Unfortunately I still have to wait to have surgery done because my surgeon is booked until January 2013. I can't not deny that I am scared but I know that at first it will be hard but I have to keep focus on the bed result. I am so glad I have found this site. I hope to be able to form new friendships and get as much information as I can of the dos and dont's as well as maybe some advice. Marilyn
  2. Today is day two post op. I have no regrets. It has been a little painful, but everyone has informed me on my wonderful progress. Just keeping positive thoughts and looking for to that light at the end of the tunnel. The hardest thing for me has been the nausea and gas pains, but they provide meds for that. Wishing any future sleevers a good luck and speedy recovery. :-)

    Had Surgery on 1/21. :-)

The weight will come off slowly. You will be bloated for the first couple of days. Don't loose hope. It's going to workout for you.
  4. I completely understand how you feel. This is my first surgery as well. But I plan on enjoying my holidays n not worry about it until the new year.

    Loose Skin

You look great.. I too started at 238. My survery is not until January 2013 :-( seems so far away. But I look foward to having the surgery. Loose skin was a concern of mine, but if I end up with a little loose skin, I will be ok with that. You are truly an inspiration. Thank you for showing us some pictures. :-)

  9. Hello everyone, I have finished my preop appointments and just got my approval for surgery :-D... Unfortunately I still have to wait because my surgery is not until January 2013. :-( That feels like so far away, but I am glad I found this site. I am still scared especially for when I have to do the liquid diet before surgery. I know that it's not going to be easy but I hope to find someone néw fiends here and get some helpful advice. Does anyone have any suggestions on good tasting Protein? Or at least one that does not leave such a chalky after taste? Marilyn
  10. Hi.. Nice to meet you. I'm Marilyn. I highly recommend laser treatments. I started laser treatments in 2008 and love it. I go to Ideal Image an they had a payment plan that they worked for me. I'm a full member now and whenever I want a touch up I just set an appointment. I used to have to be in front of the mirror in the morning and at night. Now I don't have to pluck or shave. If I get a treatment say today, I won't have growth for like 2-3 months. It made my new hair growth very very thin and not coarse. I can not lie and say it doesn't hurt, because it hurts a little. But I will go threw that pain of I do not have to be plucking everyday. :-) I'm a good listener myself, if you like to chat. Keep me posted. :-)
