Flavoring my protein shakes
Absolutely. I love almond milk. Only downside is that you're not getting much, if any, protein from that like you are with milk. But adds a good flavor.

Like heaven. Like a slightly painful, Why-Women-Like-50-Shades-of-Grey, like oh-that's-hot-but-tastes-so-good, spicy blend of hot chilis, and maybe garlic and maybe vinegar and definitely heaven. It adds a wonderful flavor, not just heat. It's hot but not insanely hot, nor hot just for the sake of being hot. It's like heaven. I may have mentioned that. I'll forgive you for using the word 'just' in your question.- CHIRRRACHA
Just had some on my eggs! Woot, woot! I was so worried that I'd have to lay off the beloved Rooster. Great links: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/sriracha http://theoatmeal.com/quiz/sriracha_addict WARNING! Adult humor!!!!!! Do not click if easily offended!!!!! Do not click and complain about the humor! (I'm 100% addicted, BTW)- Who is scheduled for Jan 8th? I'm getting nervous
How did it go? That's a great NSV!- Who is scheduled for Jan 8th? I'm getting nervous
I can't tell you it's my lower right side, but actual main incision is STILL extremely sore. I called the surgeon's office yesterday, but didn't find out until last night that they called me back (at my home, not my cell...grrrr). I'll talk to them today. You might want to do the same.- CHIRRRACHA
Behold the Rooster! I have put it on pureed chili and scrambled eggs already. It's delightful.- Non-supportive wives?
My wife is certainly supportive in general, but I'll tell you that this process has been harder on her than me. She's very worried that I'll change, that I'll get 'too skinny,' etc. Definitely a weird dynamic. The excellent book 'Emotional First Aid Kit: A Practical Guide to Life After Bariatric Surgery' has a lot about this and more. Strongly suggest it.- 3 week Sleevers! How much protein?
70-80 a day. I eat three mushy protein meals (generally 6-8g of protein each), have a 7-8g protein dessert at night (ns/nf pudding with some Isopure mixed in), and do a shake or two.- I got to shop in regualr size stores today!
Congrats!!!!- Who is scheduled for Jan 8th? I'm getting nervous
I know. It's weird. I want to exercise, I generally don't feel hungry, and I generally don't crave food. Who am I???????- Omfg ... They Are Going To Shove...
I was seriously worried about it, but truly, it was no big deal. They put it in when you're under, and as someone mentioned, once you're awake, it's actually a bit of a relief not to have to get up and pee the first day. I had zero problems with pain or discomfort from it.- Who is scheduled for Jan 8th? I'm getting nervous
Keya, the only time of the day I have real hunger is when I wake up! I'm taking Protonix right now, and they want it taken with a teaspoon of applesauce, 30 minutes before anything else. So, I'm in the habit now of waking up to a growling tummy, doing the teaspoons of applesause/Protonix RIGHT AWAY, and head to the shower. Find that the teaspoon makes the stomach shut up (how crazy is that!!!!!), until my shower is over and I can feast on my massive breakfast of 2oz of mushy food. 2013newme, Happy 3-week anniversary! I'm jealous of the exercise, something I never thought I'd say. My doc says, "No exercise that will make you sweat" for 6 weeks. I feel like a blob, since I had been, toward the end of Life 1.0, using the dusty, neglected elliptical downstairs, to good ends! Now that I'm in Life 2.0, I miss it!!!!! But I can't imagine using it now with my one painful incision. I'm having good days and bad. Today was a bad...the plumbing was definitely NOT HAPPY today. But the trendline has been going up!!!! It's funny; my wife is having a harder time of it than I am, I think.- Grocery List Staples
Amazon's prices for it seemed high to me. I got it from netrition.com and had a very fast delivery (but they're also very close to me).- Grocery List Staples
Ordered it yesterday. Got it today. Immediately added it to today's chocolate Isopure shake. Thought I'd died and gone to heaven.- Incision pain

- Can I drink coffee with caffeine?
I got coffee in the hospital as well, on my last day there. I couldn't have it on my pre-op diet, so it was welcome!!!!- Can I drink coffee with caffeine?
I have no restriction on coffee, just can't add cream. But I didn't use cream before, so no big deal. I have about 12 oz a day of coffee.- Where do you men shop for regular sizes?
- OUCH!
Wow. At every step of the process, I have been repeatedly told, by everyone in my medical team, that NSAIDs are absolutely off the table from here on it. I actually had to sign something that I understood! I had two pharmacy consults that went through my med list (which, thankfully, is nothing really....just Advil for back pain), and both pharmacists told me to toss my Advil and use something else for the rest of my life. There were things along the way in every other area that were presented as "Some people..." but this clearly wasn't one of them. God, I just cannot get over how different it is what we're all told. I'm sorry to alarm you...don't listen to me, listen to your doc! Again, sorry.- Grocery List Staples

Glad to hear you guys are doing well. I'm so jealous of the sashimi!!!!!! I'm doing fine. The last two nights at dinner have been nice because I've been able to eat what the family was eating...sort of. I'm on the mushy food stage, so took their chili yesterday and pureed it a little more... And added my beloved sriracha!!!! It was only 2oz of chili, but felt 'normal.' Tonight, I cooked fish for them and took 2oz of the moist center, added in a little chicken broth and mashed, mashed, mashed it up with a fork. Tasted great! Still can't get over how different all of our plans are. I couldn't imagine JUST NOW moving to mush. I'm going into the third week of it! Really looking forward to getting cleared for normal food on Feb. 8. Can I say that I so hope we all stay in touch over the months and years ahead? It's really nice to have others that went through it 'with' you on that day. - CHIRRRACHA
