  1. Thanks! I am going later today to stock up!
  2. How has recovery been? I don't feel nervous about my surgery this Tuesday, but I feel like Monday night and Tuesday morning I may be feeling very different than I do now.
  3. What would be a good flavored water to get? Something right out of post op.
  4. I am so confused! Well not neccessarily confused, just a lot of information and when it comes to these things I just go crazy! I was given a list of things that I can eat what I can start eating once I am at my liquid intake goals and such. I don't even know what to go out and buy! What would be a simple list to start off with?? My surgery is November 6th and I don't know what to stalk up on.. little help please?
  5. I was talking to my NUT yesterday and this actually came up in the conversation. She said to get Fiber One Origional Cereal. Crush in a baggie into powder form and add to any liquids/soft solids. Now if you decide to go with a different fiber, make sure it is not an expansive fiber.. You should avoid those for about 3 weeks post op. But anyway that is what I would try if I were you.
  6. My surgery is. Coming up fast, November 6th actually... What are some things I should bring with me to the hospital to make recovery more easy.
  7. Ten days until my surgery. I am so super excited and I can't wait for this! I think waiting is the worst part, knowing how much better life is going to be, I want it now! Apart of me is still very nervous though as well. The 31st my four hour pre op appointment. How did post ops deal with their anxieties before surgery?
  8. November 6th here to as well!
  9. I just can't believe she told you what you do and don't have time for. That is none of her business.. You should try to speak to someone else in that office.. I mean, there has got to be somebody else to talk too.... I would have told her off.
  10. November 6th here as well!!!
  11. November 6th here as well!
  12. I'm very sorry to hear that. Is there anyone else you cam talk to besides that nurse? Check your city to see if there are other bariatric doctors in the area. Go get a second opinion. I hope it all works out for you. Keep us posted.
  13. Who ever goes first let us know how it goes!!!
  14. I hear ya there. My surgery is November 6th and i'm nervous and scared as well. Just keep trying to think about all the positives. How much better life will be, all that once used to stop us won't be able to anymore.
  15. My date is November 6th!! I'm scares and nervous but super excited. I sometimes question whether or not I'm ready for this change.... How should I mentally and physically prepare myself for this life changing event?
  16. I finally have made it to consultation day!!! I find out my surgery date today! I was curious, cam anyone think of any really good questions I should ask? My mind is drawing a blank here. The only question I could think up was a question about my medication, other than that I can't think of anything!
  17. Update: I quit smoking on the 1st of this month, and I have not had a cigarette since! I bought an e-cig and that works fine. I don't even smoke it that much as I used to smoke real cigarettes. So 17 days free of tobacco!
  18. I think that's the part I'm most excited for haha.
  19. I'm so happy for you! I meet with my surgeon soon to get a surgery date! I'm glad we get second chances! I wish the best for your surgery and recovery!

Tomorrow is my last appointment and then I will have a consultation with the doctor and set a surgery date. I am still nervous and very scared. It doesn't seem real, but I know that when it's really close I am most likely going to start freaking out, haha. I am very excited when I start to think about all the positives in my new life to come. But I am still pretty nervous when the thought of surgery comes up. I think the main reason is because I have never had surgery before and change scares me.
  21. Thank you all for your words. You guys rock. When ever I start to feel nervous or scared, you all seem to know what to say to make me feel calm again.
  22. I have my last appointment on Friday and then I can make a consultation with my surgeon and pick a date. I don't know how booked up they are though and so I have no idea when my surgery may be. But hoping soon!
  23. In general I usually feel excited. But right now I am feeling quite anxious. Wondering if I am making the right choice, scared of the unknown, and I know the night before surgery and the day of I am going to be having huge panic attacks. Does anyone else feel this way? If so, how do you cope? How do you stay positive and motivated about surgery? How do you make the fear go away? How can I become more strong?
