  1. Thank you for posting this - great information!!
  2. When you say "I lost my hair" - can you clarify? All your hair? Some hair? It's a scary part for me. Surgery date 12/19.
  3. Wow! First, you're adorable! Second, great job!!
  4. Thank you so much. I guess I should try some of these things before the surgery so I'm not at a loss afterwards!
  5. It does seem we share all the same feelings. It's reassuring to know I'm not the only one feeling these things. Thanks everyone!
  6. I haven't had the surgery yet but am already worried about my hair. It's finally growing back after losing a bunch after a new medication. The chocolate truffle shake is the powder, correct? I've never had soy milk, but I am clearly lactose intolerant and have been for years. Is soy milk also a powder?
  7. December 19th - I just got my date yesterday - doesn't seem real yet!
  8. Yep - advance directive is a must! I agree with everyone else - also in healthcare.
  9. I, too, am a nurse, and could have used a binder for my 3 c-sections but never got one. I splinted using my hands and know it helps. I will not be leaving the hospital without my binder!
  10. Wow - amazing!!! You look great!
  11. I wouldn't have even thought to have asked - but really encouraged by the responses!!
  12. Wow - your pix bring tears to my eyes - so happy for you!!
  13. I won't have a pre-op diet either. I'm not nervous about that piece - just very grateful as it's so difficult to stay on liquids when you're used to overeating. I'm thinking that post-surgery, it will be easier...
  14. I'm thinking how much less space smaller clothes take up when you're packing for a vacation...
  15. Glad to hear you saw someone. When you are there tomorrow, I would ask the surgeon how you can contact them during off hours if needed.
  16. Rough road for you, but congratulations on your perseverance and accomplishment!!
  17. The binder is a great idea - where did you get it? Do they give you one in the hospital?
  18. i got my surgery date today - December 19th. It's all becoming real - however, I was more nervous going to the appointment than coming out with a date! We're scheduled real close together!! I wish you the best!
  19. Sounds great - just curious - what is the benefit of unjury protein... I keep seeing it out there.
  20. I totally agree with isajck! The doctors have on call coverage for exactly this reason. You have been through a lot - put your mind at ease. They might have you come in tomorrow instead of Wednesday.
  21. If your doctor isn't giving you what you need, go the ER - if it is dehydration, they will re-hydrate you. They can also assess why you are experiencing so much pain.
  22. Wow - scary series of posts here - especially sazzygirl - are you doing better now? That sounds horrible. mgsmith72 - please call your doctor tomorrow - it's not about bothering... it's about ensuring your health.
