The only thing I can tell you about Lasik is don't expect perfection. All you hear on the commercials and advertisements is "I see 20/20 or better!" Many do have perfect vision but be prepared for the possibility for it not to be perfect. I paid extra to go to a surgeon that my insurance didn't cover because he was the best in our area. My vision was great but not perfect. I wanted perfection and I could have an enhancement within 5 years at no charge so I did. He messed me up with the enhancement. I am far sighted in my right eye and have a bad astigmatism in my left eye. I wear glasses pretty much all the time now. I can't read without them at all! I REALLY wish I hadn't had the enhancement.

Thanks so much for that post! My PCP has always supported me having WLS and just had a few questions about going to Mexico. I can't wait to visit him after a few months post-op and show the new me! Maybe........just maybe I can be an example to others that feel defeated by our health care system! One month from today!

I'm traveling alone June 9th. Many people have so hopefully it will be easy.

Look to see if there is a passport processing center near you. I would have never thought in a million years there would be one in a little town outside the capital city where I live and in Arkansas of all places.

Sherri3388 I was upset too when I saw that so I contacted several people I know that have been to Dr. Ortiz and the OCC. They all reassured me that they had a great experience, very professional and excellent care. They all are doing fabulous and they are 1 month to a little over 1 year out from surgery. I find it suspicious that this is the posters only post and they joined the forum just before they wrote the post. And, if it were really true, there would be many posts confirming what they wrote. My friend that had a band to sleeve revision over a year ago said there was a similar post on some board before her surgery and that person was slammed for making such accusations. Hang in there. Don't let that person scare you.

Healthy&Skinny you can do it! Today is a new day. Start over and go forward! Not sure where you live but if it gets very hot, think about how awful you feel being heavy and hot! I'm MISERABLE when it's 100+ and 90% humidity! You can do it!

There is a lady is having dental work done at the same time I want to say in April. Can't remember exactly. Maybe it was posted on the OCC forum. Hopefully she will see the question and chime in.

Amanda I am so glad you are doing so well. I have loved your posts and have brought a smile and a giggle to me more than once today! Loved the Smurf and Buffet comments. What has everyone thought of you taking pictures? That will hopefully be me!

WOW It's amazing how we all have such similar feelings! I love to shop but that that disappeared for me a while back. My daughter refuses to wear cute clothes so I help my mom with her wardrobe! I seem to always wear buffet pants aka knit and a large shirt/sweater or a t-shirt and shorts. I HATE that my not caring about how I look has rubbed off on my daughter. I dreamed of a ballerina princess and she prefers tshirts and shorts....mmmmmm......wonder where she got that! Things are gonna change when the new Sheriff arrives!
