  1. It really depends on your situation and pain tolerance. I had surgery last Thursday and haven't had any pain medication since last Fri night. That just means that my pain has been tolerable and I wanted to get off pain meds ASAP so I can drive. I'm more sore than in pain and I move a certain way I do have more pain. Rest assured you'll be ok and the doctor will give you a RX for pain meds to help with the pain. Wishing you well this week and a healthy recovery.
  2. Chad, Praying for you and sending virtual hugs your way.
  3. Today is the day!! At the hospital to check in. Looking forward to getting healthier and getting rid of these hunger pains I've had over the past week!
  4. Yes. I can come get it today just about anytime. You can send me a private message with address or where to meet u.
  5. Does anyone know if Forest Park has wifi in the patient rooms?
  6. TinaD, I hope you're doing well and recovering quickly from your surgery. Please let us know how it went.
  7. My surgery is Thur too! Tomorrow it's all Clear liquids. Not looking forward to it except it means I'm less than 24 hours away for one the biggest life changers for me!!
  8. I'm taking a pair if loose fitting pants/shorts (like workout or yoga type), T-shirt, underwear, flip flops, toiletries, iPad (with movies & books on it) & phone charger.
  9. I'm dealing with the same issue right now and I think it may be leading to a sinus infection. I'm scheduled for the sleeve this Thur 9/27 so I'm doing everything I know to ward this off ... Sinus rinse 2x/day, nasonex, Zyrtec. Anyone have any other ideas on what meds can be taken this close to surgery? Is there a chance I will have to reschedule if I end up on antibiotics?
  10. Hang in there NDN_RN! I'm on day 5 of 8 and I don't want to see another strawberry Protein Shake but I know this is the commitment and discipline I'll need to make my surgery a success. We can do it!!!!!!
  11. You can do Isopure, which is a clear protein drink that comes n several flavors. Not the tastiest but you can add crystal light to mask the taste. Can also do SF jello, SF Popsicles, broth and water with unflavored protein and/or crystal light.
  12. Glad to know it's not just me. I've had the bubble guts since I started liquid diet last Wed. I knew it had to be the protein shakes but had no idea why. It all makes sense now.
  13. I'm in Grand Prairie (right on border of Arlington). Getting sleeve this Thur 9/27 with Dr. Castro at Forest Park Medical Center. On day 5 of Pre-op liquid diet and already down 7 lbs. looking forward to the weight loss without the hunger pains :-)
  14. LadyK, Praying that everything goes smooth for you and that you have a healthy recovery. Let me know how things go for you.
