Attention ! Australian Sleevers
It's so strange how different surgeons/dieticians have completely different schedules. I was sleeved 3 weeks ago today but am already on the "transition diet". I was only on liquids for the first day in hospital, then mush/purée for 2 weeks and now transition to "normal" diet.

Fingers crossed she's on the mend. It's do not fair; does something to improve her health and life and it backfires on her in the worst way. Thinking of you Lila!

Congrats Scotty!! You'll be running around in budgie smugglers at Christmas.- Attention ! Australian Sleevers
Hi all, Just thought I'd introduce myself. I am Amy, from Perth. I was sleeved by Dr Cohen at Mercy Hospital on 6th September. Best. Thing. I've. Ever. Done. I feel like I know you all as I've been stalking this thread since the day after my surgery (entertaining myself in hospital). Just jumped on the scales; am 9kg down, 2weeks postop. Woohoo!!- Considering Taking The Plunge
- Protein drinks in Australia?
I couldn't stand the Optifast shakes so I went to a health food store and just bought 100% whey Protein isolate. I make my own smoothies and add this (because it's flavourless) and I'm noticing a massive difference in my weight loss already. If you don't mind the shakes, there is a brand called "body" who do a slew of flavours and they've got by far the highest protein content of any of shakes I've looked at (and I've looked at a LOT!)- Hungry?!
Haha she is a complete clown!! Best way to describe her. I'm doing better with the fluids. Still hard but I'm definitely not hungry. 6kg down! My main source (really, only source) of pain is my left wrist with two failed canulla's. So much so, that I was on the phone for half an hour with the 24 hour GP. Bruising is spreading and the ache is constant. Going to the docs tomorrow.- Hungry?!
I'd love to have more!!! Our beautiful long haired red mini fell last December and broke her back. $7,500 in surgery later.... Think we might just stick with two for now. We had a black and tan long hair mini but she passed away aged 17. Now we have a wire hair mini as well.- Hungry?!
I think you're right; dehydration is my main problem. I rang the dietician and from what I told her, she says I'm not getting enough fluids in. So I've got my bottle of diet cordial (with the minimum amount I need to drink throughout the day) and my daily goal is to finish that. Any fluids above are just a bonus!! I love your name Doxieville; I've got two dachshunds myself!- Hungry?!
I have absolutely no idea. Actually...that's kind of a lie. I shook a bottle of diet lemonade until there were no more bubbles and had some of that (I was cravingggggg it). I think it was too syrupy even though it was diet. If it wasn't that, then it was just because I ate too much.- Hungry?!
Thanks so much. The kindness of strangers is sometimes what one needs to be shaken into focus. Best of luck!! We'll be struttin' round in no time.- Any Raw Foodist/vegans/vegetarians Out There?
nyxa, I read every word you wrote and I just wanted to say I totally admire your passion for the topic. I'm a meat eater but will definitely be taking some of your ideas on board. Thanks!- Hungry?!
Whoa. I spoke way too soon about my lack of dumping!! Just had the whole kit and caboodle; the runs, hot sweats, nausea, seeing stars, immediate overwhelming fatigue, shaking. Learnt my lesson.- Hungry?!
Thanks so much. That relieves some of my worry but I'm still concerned that I'm going in the opposite direction in an effort to not eat too much and hence starving myself! Wahhhh. - Attention ! Australian Sleevers
