I Can Now Cross My Legs And Other Milestones
Congratulations! What a wonderful achievement. I can't wait until I am able to do the same. Especially the crossing the legs. It's such a womanly thing to be able to do, so I can't wait!

Not Being Able To Sleep
I, too, am having trouble sleeping. In the hospital, I barely slept, but I attributed that to the nurses coming in constantly to take vital signs and give me more medicine. Last night was my first night at home and I went to bed at 10:30, woke up at 12:30, 3 to use restroom and then up for a good at 5:30 this am. My entire body is aching and I guess going longer than 4 hours without my pain mess really did me in. I'm hoping this doesn't last too much longer. I plan on taking a few naps today. The doctor told me for the next week, I should be focused on getting 64 ounces of Fluid and at least 60 grams of Protein and walking. Those will be my goals. I'm glad you wrote this thread, as I was about to write one myself!

How Did You Feel The Day Of Surgery?
Let us know how it turns out. I am 4 days post op and feeling not myself at all. The day of the surgery didn't seem that bad, but days 2 and 3 were awful. This is beginning of day 4 and I got about 6 hours of sleep last night, waking up 2 times to use the restroom. I am taking my pain pills religiously as if I don't, I feel it. My entire body is aching and without the pain pills, I would most likely be reduced to tears. Everyone heals differently, but make sure you are prepared for some uncomfortable ness. Good luck!

Sleeping On Stomach
Hi everyone, I'm two days post op and am now at home finally. In the hospital I was always forced to lay on my back because I was hooked up to so many things but now that I am home, I want to sleep on my side or even my stomach. Anybody out there have experience with that and how long you waited? Thanks!

Weight Goal Challenge For New Year's Day
This is such a great thread! I am scheduled for surgery on Wednesday (Sept 12th) so I've started making some mini goals to help along the process. For NYE, I would like to be 225 lbs. I'm at about 300 lbs right now so I hope that is achievable. I turn 30 on January 12th (exactly 4 months out of surgery) and I would LOVE to go skydiving. Looking it up, some of the websites say you the max you can be is 220 lbs so I'm hoping to get there by my birthday. This challenge will help!!! Thanks again for starting :-)

Hi there! I'm Sept 12th too! I start the Clear liquids today so pretty much Isopure...and more isopure and water! Justine13 - I'm scared too and extremely nervous, but I think that is natural for any surgery, especially when we are out on general anesthesia. I'm ready for 3 months from now to be here so I can look back and smile :-) Good luck to everyone on Wednesday!!!

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I am planning to take it easy and if I'm tired take cabs instead of the train. Hopefully this will keep me feeling OK. Have an awesome day!

Traveling After Surgery
Hello out there, I'm new to the boards but I have a question I thought someone might be able to help answer. I am scheduled to have surgery on Sept 12 (wed) and the following week on Sept 20 (thurs) I have to go to Chicago. My doctor told me that I should be fine as long as surgery went well and that walking around the town should be good for me. She also reminded me that I will need to follow my full liquid diet and not lift my bags, but other than that I should be ok. I don't think it's going to be a strenuous trip, just enjoying time in the windy city. Did anyone travel after surgery? If so, was it a nightmare? Any help or advice would be great! Thanks!
