  1. Sorry typed it once and lost service....lol thought it didn't go out. Anyway keep us updated.
  2. I am still pre op. 4 months left of the 6 month supervised diet. I am an RN and have taken care of bariatric patients and have several friends who have had WLS. You are in the..."OH SH*T What have I done?" phase. It will pass. One day at a time it will get better. Your body and mind are under an extreme amount of stress in this phase. You have a flood of hormones with WLS. It levels out when your body adjusts. And in the early stages you are dealing with the head hunger issues. And hunger real or perceived makes us irritable, anxious, and again emotional. Like I said one day at a time it will get better. Sometimes you have to fake it until you make it. Have faith!!! Sometimes all we can do is believe and cut out all negativity. Anyway, you can do this!!!!
  3. Still in the pre op phase. 4 months to go in the 6 month supervised diet. However, I am an RN and have taken care of bariatric patients and have several friends who have had WLS. It is very common to regret it in the beginning. The OH SH*T phase. And you can't help but be emotional it's an extreme amount of stress on your body and mind in the beginning. Just trying to get in the groove of things. Like I said just take it one day at a time. You will feel better!!! Have faith!!! Sometimes you gotta fake it tell you make it....believe it will get better and it will. Cut out all negativity and just believe. You will get there.
  4. Your gonna do great!!! You will come through this. The emotions run away with you in the beginning. But it will get better. Day by day!!!!
  5. Ok it may not add to my life expectancy (and I think that is wrong) but it definitely will not decrease my life expectancy. I have not seen 18 years anywhere.

  7. You really gotta not let the mostly light heart jibes get you. No one means anything by it. With being so newly post op your are emotional whether you realize it or not. And more than likely in a few weeks when you move on to stages where you can have real food you won't let this bother you. And remember we can't worry what others think or post you got too much work ahead of you to waste energy. If the info you get here works for you use it if it doesn't ignore it. We each have that freedom. Hope it gets better....easier for you.
  8. You definitely have to have thick skin around here. But most really do not mean anything by it. And it is sooooo extremely hard to read the true context of someone's post. Just take the good out of what is posted and if it turns preachy or mean let the thread die or unsubscribe. But again I say and men it!!! Most on here do not mean do be condescending. We are all here for the same thing. Support....
  9. Yes def ask your NUT first!!!! Lol. That's a must. I have a friend that has done it since a few days after surgery. I am still pre op. She never had any issues with it, but as you know all of our tummies react different to everything. It's all trial and error. As long as its ok with NUT it's a viable option. Hope the idea helps.
  10. Try water with slices or chunks of fruit. Just don't eat the fruit. It will give it just enough flavor, but not the sweetness. Water with pineapple chunks, water with strawberry and kiwi slices, water with melon chunks, water with cucumber or cucumber and melon. Really anything you like. Cut or slice the fruit up at night put in a pitcher with your water for the next day and let it sit in the frig overnight. Ready when you get up. Stir or shake it up a Lil. Yummy.
  11. Well you don't have any choice but to go to the appt and tell them your situation. Tell them you were exposed to second hand smoke. And see what they say. Maybe it won't show up on the test at all....I will keep you in my prayers hope it all works out for you.
  12. Hopefully the amount of second hand smoke wasn't enough to show up on the test. Take the home one. If it shows cancel the appt and wait a cpl weeks. I know that's easier said than done but that's where u are at this point.
  13. Under the fat....but you will not see it until the fat is gone. The toned abs will be hidden under the fat. Only diet and cardio can get rid of the fat on top.
  14. I believe the OP would still fail the test for nicotine if she used the E-cigs. Maybe after surgery.
  15. Dr Guillermo Alvarez's book is wonderful also.
  16. How much have you lost? You look so awesome!!!
  17. Southern gurl here!!!! Mississippi
