  1. Yes, me too. Pre surgery I liked room temp water, but now it goes down much better cold. I keep refilling my drink bottle with ice cubes. I don't imagine it can hurt anything.
  2. It's absolutely not the easy way out. You are so close (9 days!!). If this is what you want (need) to do, then stick with it.
  3. Hey - he cares enough to not hurt you but there are plenty of other things you could be doing
  4. Well, if he runs screaming from the room, you'll know it's a problem. If he's happy to keep bonking - obviously no issues But....have you considered a male escort? You can pre-explain anything and you get what you need, without relationship issues
  5. No - but I was given Heparin. Sounds like you might be allergic
  6. I found some tinned salmon with cracked pepper, pureed it and mixed in a tiny little bit of mayo and milk. That worked ok. Today I did the same but added part of a (mashed) soft boiled egg. I haven't checked out the recipes section yet, but I will soon so that I don't get bored.
  7. No wonder everyone is so confused Although mine doesn't allow full foods until about week 8 either.
  8. I have clear liquids 2 days, full liquids the next two days and then purée for 3 weeks until I move into soft foods at the week 4. On my acceptable list (6 days post surgery) is pureed fish, chicken, lamb, pork etc. I really feel for you guys having to do liquids for so long. I would struggle.
  9. No way Lila! I can tell the difference! You're looking great
  10. Yes, I am going to get some unflavoured protein too. It surely has to be easier to add a bit to everything rather than trying to choke down shakes. I am also only managing 32oz of water. I don't think that's too bad only being less than a week out. I hope by the end of week 2 that I can get the required 64oz.
  11. Oh! And over 15lbs lost!! My stomach no longer protrudes further than my boobs! Yay
  12. Ok, since we're talking poop - used a microlax yesterday (charming), which worked immediately. This morning had a bm as normal. Great start to the day I was afraid of leaving it too long
  13. I can have half a cup of soup and then feel full.
  14. I went to hospital alone and was quite happy. The first day there was no way I could think about anything beyond myself, day 2 I was still spaced out and spent it and day 3 sleeping.
  15. Day 4 was the start of my purée diet as well. I can't manage much either. I tried a mashed egg. Ate about 3/4 and its back up into my chest. Should have stopped at half.
  16. Yeah, but you might keep losing and I could hit a looong stall..... It could all even out in the end
  17. I'm making a real effort to get in 1L (32oz) of water . I'm finding myself quite tired and weak and know it will be worse if I don't get at least that amount. And from today aiming for 2 protein shakes......yuck. But I am lucky that I had no soreness from the tube. Think I'll do a trip to the chemist to find some type of enema. I am down 13lbs already. Is everyone else seeing this type of loss?

  19. As I went in to theatre the anesthesiologist said "some people come out and ask if the operation was done, others feel nauseous and horrible." Sounds like you got lucky!
  20. I was doing some strange hours in the hospital, but at home I'm out - that's it. Dead.
  21. It's quite peculiar, isn't it? No hunger and no inclination to eat... Had my op on Wed 14th, out on Sat. I've been feeling quite weak, so tonight I pureed about 40g salmon. Fast forward 2 hours and I still hadn't finished! Ah well, back in the fridge for tomorrow nights tea. Since my op I've lost 5.2kg. I'm making sure I get at least 1L of water too.
  22. Ah crackling ....yummo. Enjoy
