  1. You are completely normal! My feelings fluctuated on a minute by minute basis before surgery! I also have 3 kids, and I thought about the same things you did. You are not a freak! How I got past it? The weight I was losing and the health I was achieving was the motivation to continue on. The 2 weeks of liquid diet before surgery showed me that I could lose weight. It also was a wonderful kickstart. It is worth it, girl! I love my band! Best of luck to you!
  2. I am on my second set of pants that can be pulled down without undoing them. It is the most wonderful feeling in the world! By the way- I hit 60 pounds lost today. I am screaming it to the world!!!!
  3. Holly- I hear ya! I have a hubby and 3 kids, so I had to cook during my month of liquids. Hubby is helpful, but doesn't get home from work in time to make supper. So, it was my pet peeve everynight! That really sucks!
  4. Yeehawwwwwwwwww! I just got off the scale this morning! I am down 60 pounds!!!!!!!!!! I have been at 58 for several weeks, so I am very excited to see the scale move! I had fill #3 last week, and I believe that was the ticket! I have restriction! I am only 16 weeks out! I never expected to have such wonderful results in such a short period of time! Just wanted everyone to know! Gotta love that band!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. It's great that you are doing so well! Welcome to bandland! I would check with your doctor about when he wants you to resume exercise. I always follow my doctor's orders. My doctor and his staff have never lead me astray. Plus, I have had wonderful success by doing this! Best of luck to ya!
  6. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you all. I am doing better. You are right about true restiction! I am doing good on mushies. I had an egg this morning. It went down fine, but when I am done, I am done! Wow! I have also had some pain with drinking too fast. I thought I had this band all figured out, but I was wrong. I am pretty tight right now, but that's ok. I will lose weight like this and the band will loosen up in a hurry. Then I will be just fine. Heck, I may even need another fill soon! My goal is to weigh 165 by Christmas. (9 more pounds to go!) That would be 67 pounds lost since being banded on August 13. I can do it. I just need to kick in the exercise! Wish me luck! Gotta love that band!!!
  7. I got my 3rd fill yesterday. Wow! I am having some trouble with liquids. It kinda feels like I'm gurgling when I drink. I am gonna give it another day to see if I'm just swollen from the fill. If not, I'll have to have some taken out. I basically had not restiction before and now 1 little cc is kicking by ass! Wish me luck. I start mushies tomorrow afternoon and am scared!
  8. I get dizzy once in awhile, too. That's when I know I need to get some Protein in. Wouldn't hurt to give your doctor a call. Gotta love that band!
  9. I think everyone goes through the worrying thing before surgery. It's just human nature. I worried, too, but not for long! I started to see the weight fall off and my health and evergy come back. My life has changed! I am alive again! It's so good to be back! I owe it all to the band and to supportive friends and family. You cannot do this without support! It will make or break ya. Best of luck to ya! I know what I am thankful for today! (Oh, there really are not any foods that I cannot eat. I have not had any problems! YIPPEE!)
  10. I had second thoughts after surgery, too. That went away fast, though! I started losing a lot of weight, my health came back and I started to really look good. NO REGRETS!!!!!!!! I have a new life! It is worth it! Things will get better, I promise! Best of luck to ya!
  11. Best of luck to you! It is all worth it! I love my band and have not regretted anything yet!
  12. Give your doctor a call. It should not still hurt. Best of luck to ya!
  13. Gotta love that band! Best of luck on your journey!
  14. Just feels like a bee sting. My doctor numbs the area first and that's all ya feel. Easy as pie!
  15. Hi Judy! I take Adult Liquid Tylenol Rapid Blast. Lipitor can be crushed. Check with your doctor to see if Prozac can be crushed. Some meds are not to be crushed as that can make them toxic, believe it or not. Good luck! Gotta love that band!
  16. Plateaus are normal. Your body is just catching up. I lost weight fast, too, and now I have slowed down. I am eating the right foods in the right amount, I just need to step up the exercise. That would be my recommendation to ya. More exercise. As you lose it takes more work to burn off the same amount of calories than it did when you were bigger. Just keep on moving! That will get ya over that hump!
  17. I have found that the ones who are judgmental are really the ones who are jealous. That's fine, let them be that way! You'll have your day! Believe me, I am down 51 pounds! I am having my day everyday now!
  18. I have BCBS of Georgia and my plan covered it. I would call them again or check the policy yourself just to make sure. It's worth the time! Good luck!
  19. Since you still have to work with the guy and you don't wanna piss him off, how about educating him? Give him some info on the band. I realize it is his choice whether to read it or not, but at least you tried. I knew a few "skeptical" people, too. I just gave them some info and it was all ok. I would also talk to your boss about it. Maybe at the next staff meeting you could do a little 10 minute info session on the band for all your co-workers. It would be great for all of them to know what you are facing, plus what they can expect to see after you are banded. (Especially since you are in a small, close-knit office.) I feel the more info one has, the better. By the way, it's not the easy way out. It's just a different way. You still have to work your ass off!
  20. I have BCBS of Georgia. Took almost 4 weeks for approval. I hated the wait, but it was worth it!
  21. Don't worry! You will do great! After being banded you feel differently about food. You start to see the pounds fall off and your mind become clearer. Yes, you will have bad days, but all in all it's good! I went from a size 20-22 in August to a 12 today! I have control of food now! I love that! My whole life is better! I am healthier, I stand up for myself now and I look fantastic! Continue to look to this site for support. It helped me get through my bad days, too! Good luck to you! Gotta love that band!!!!!!!!!
  22. I know I will need a tummy tuck after all is said and done. My skin was all stretched out from having 3 babies and being so overweight. After losing 51 pounds it is evident that surgery is in the future. It's just the luck of the draw.
  23. No requirements. Just whatever works for you. Everyone and every body is different in terms of what is needed or desired in terms of restriction. Good luck!
  24. Robin- You will do fine. After you are banded you feel different about food. For me, I was on Clear liquids for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after surgery. I lost a lot of weight during that stage. It was a wonderful kick start. You start to see weight coming off on a daily basis and you do not want it to stop. I still go out to eat, but I don't eat very much and I am satisfied. It is fine. If ya sit and think about how much food is served to ya in a restaurant, it is crazy. I had Carlos O'Kelly's the other day and brought home the leftovers enough for 3 more meals! Here is some inspiration for ya! I was banded 11 weeks ago today. I am down 51 pounds, already halfway to goal! From a size 20-22 in August to a 12 today! I am alive now!!!!!!!!!:whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo: Surround yourself with supportive people. Tell people about your band, then there is more accountability! I know most of the people in my little town know about my band. They look at me to see if I am losing! That's great motivation! Best of luck to you!
  25. I cleaned out my entire closet and dresser. There literally was only 10 items I kept. Now they don't fit either. I took everything to a consignment store and made great money on them. Money for all the new clothes I have been purchasing! I don't feel guilty about buying all new clothes, either. I think about all the money I was spending on food for myself. Heck! I am saving money by shopping! Oh, you'll love this one- I have to buy all new shoes, too. Evidently my feet have lost weight, too. They are not as wide or long. I think all my weight put so much pressure on my feet and spread them out. It cracks me up! Have fun getting rid of all your fat clothes!
