  1. Oh how exciting for you and your hubby to be able to express how you feel about the changes in your lives...I wish all the best for you in doing so..Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Thanks for caring..The thing is that it has made me a different person and not all for the good maybe, but a new lease on life.... What's the old expression? " What doesn't kill you makes you stronger ."
  3. cranberry pills and yogurt pills or yogurt.... For further medical advice go to this site: http://www.wikihow.com/Treat-a-Yeast-Infection
  4. Nope..11 months out and I am steal dealing with the complications of WLS...That said..I am happy I did it and would go through it all again if I had to to feel this good... 182 lbs down..And feeling blessed to be here!
  5. That is wonderful...it can be difficult at first to find something good to swallow....I tried different broths and it did not work for me....So glad for you..the only place to go is up, up, up into a better future...
  6. Thank you so much for keeping us all updated...We all really want the best for all of you as you deal with the loss of your sister..... I think about you often and wonder how this is affecting your personal journey..... All my good thoughts go out to you and your family...
  7. Monique...I am one of those unfortunate people who had a leak...I had my surgery on the 6 of Nov. and on the 12th I was rushed into the hospital because i became septic... The symptoms I had was nausea, irritability, fullness, and the one that put me over top was a temperature of 103... I don't remember much after I went in emerg. but they took it seriously and I could not get comfortable..I was totally out of my head at the time...I laughed got mad demanded a new bed...which they gave me by the way....so sweet!! As they wheeled me to the operating room I talked and asked questions but I remember none of that...After surgery they induced a coma because they said I would never survive the caliber of pain that my body would feel...they intended a coma for 4-5 days but I lasted 19.....
  8. Okay so it is 35 below here in the good old Maritime's Canada...The air is thick and the sun is shining...It is so beautiful here with the 60 or so cm of snow but when I took the dogs out my nostrils closed shut.... Now this is the thing...........No insulation anymore and so there fore cannot get warm................... So far this is the only thing that I miss.....my insulation for heat.. I used to laugh at my string bean husband because he bundled up like an Eskimo all winter..and now.......me I look like his twin......... Florida is starting to look good to me, hmmmm..maybe Arizona...........too much!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I watched this amazing woman through out her weight loss journey on You Tube . She fought this behavior every day! Over a year out she had not broken the habit.....She was as upset with this as she was at being over weight...She was shy but honest in her videos and I found myself rooting for her to get a hold on this behavior that I did not understand.. I had not even heard of it, until I started to research the sleeve. Every post was an update on her new obsession and how she was trying to get a handle on it...She traded one addiction for another....That is one of the dangers of this...Addiction! If you want to you can find a way around anything in life, but is it worth it to not face it head on and work through it until you have it under control... I know that if you chew food and spit it out you are still getting some of the useless calories. When you do swallow there is residue left in your mouth which gets into your saliva and you swallow it....I know this is trivial to say..But if you think doing this is still eating clean...It is not in reality... I watched this woman until she stopped her videos and don't know if she ever kicked the habit...But it taught me that it would not be a thing for me to even try it.....
  10. It won't improve instantly...But you will see marked improvement in how you are feeling very soon....It is difficult in the first few days and weeks after surgery....Keep the Water going sip, sip, sip.... Really take this time to take it easy and look after yourself. Be kind to yourself and rest! And when I mean rest I mean don't be cleaning the house and doing laundry..K
  11. Amazing beginning! You have definitely left some bad stuff behind...Way to go Sass!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Now that is success....You have done extraordinary lady...All the best for 2014..keep us in the loop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Glad you shared..How exciting to see you going down, down and down...Congrats!
  14. What you are feeling is normal..Most people who have WLS go into a kinda funk after surgery...It is all emotional...And a mourning for the old you...not to mention a fear of the unknown..... It will pass, once you start to feel better and you see some results...You will start to love your sleeve..Trust me..okay
  15. I love your new found attitude..Amazing!!!!!!!!!!
  16. My daughter told me once I lost a baby giraffe....LOL
  17. I meant 35lbs from my final goal and idea weight. You rocked it!
  18. Why..........am I not surprised that you would ask about the red boots Madam!!!!!!!!!
  19. Right now your new stomach is not feeling like a lot can go in there..You are in the healing process and you don't want to put any pressure on the staples....Also you feel bad because you just had major surgery and all the stuff they give you makes you feel awful not to mention you no longer have 80 % of your stomach... Please take my advice: you do not want to take a chance by going off of your Drs. advice...I am one of those people who have had a lot of problems with my WLS and it is not a ride in the park....Give yourself those few weeks to settle down and take care of yourself okay.... Better now then later!
  20. As captain Picard said " Make it so!"

  22. Yes, but is 2014 ready for you darlin!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Is that 90 lbs. in 4 months...holy moly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!amazing!
