I had the pain in my side at the large incision too about a week or more out--at first I thought I had pulled something. I took it very easy for a few days and it did go away. Try not to twist or stretch while your resting it. If you need to pick something up from the ground (under 15 lbs only) then bend at the knees and don't bend at the stomach. If it does not feel better after resting a couple of days, then call up your doc.

I actually had almost zero issues from a pain perspective, and very little feeling whatsoever on the restriction for fluids. I too had to be told to slow down, since drinking too fast was causing my reflux. Now that I'm pacing myself, reflux is better.
If I could just kick this nighttime woozy feeling (other thread), I'd feel great and I'm only 3 weeks out.

salpal got a reaction from samsmom in Having Surgery Sept 5.. Having The Last Supper Syndrome.. Help!
Thank you all so much for your feedback!! I did talk to my nutritionist today and she said as long as I started today I should be fine... My preop class is the day before my surgery so I think that I was missing some much needed info which she forwarded to me... I also found out that dr Halpin is a very well respected surgeon that does difficult patients that other surgeons wont touch.. So I feel better about that since I am a healthy fat! Ha... I do think I am ready but I am mad that I wasn't better informed of the importance of the preop diet.. Please everyone keep in touch especially my fellow September 5 sleevers! I need your support!
