  1. Prayers to you.... for copious farts!
  2. It's the simple things, ain't it?! Lol. About 5 hours after I got home from the hospital yesterday, I avoided a shart and had a bowel movement. I announced it to the house.
  3. I keep hearing this. Apparently my surgeon was pretty darn good. Thank goodness. Thanks everyone
  4. I'm 3 days out..almost 4... and everytime I take a sip of water, I feel it travel down and then culminate into a rather painful gurgle. I am beginning to hate drinking!!!! Is this normal? The gas is is still very much in my system, so it wouldn't shock me to learn if this was normal, but I'm slightly paranoid after having had such a difficult hospital stay. Thanks everyone.
  5. Lol!!!! The feeling woke me up.
  6. Ok ladies and gents. This is my first post-op question. I had surgery on Thursday. I'm burping a little bit, but haven't passed any gas the other end. No farts!!! I'm really looking forward to it, as the cramping can be a bit much at times, but nothing so far. I'm walking a lot and doing really well with water. When can I expect relief? Thanks!!!
  7. Ok. Surgery March 14th. Starting weight 287.6 CW: 280 5'9" Doctors GW: 175
  8. I'm feeling tons better. I want to assure people that it does get better. I ended up being allergic to dilaudid, a pain med, that required a high dose of IV Benadryl. This was given right before my leak test, which caused an inability to burp as I was so sedated. The nausea and vomiting was horrific. The next days has was terrible. Today, with new pain meds and an ability to burp, I feel so much better. Able to focus on walking and passing the gas, rather than pain and discomfort. Everytime told me it would get better every day. And it's so true.
  9. I'm walking a lot and will walk more with Fred in my heart. May God bless his family.
  10. It's been so hard. I'll post why when I am able. In the meantime please pray for me a prayer of healing and no pain. Please. Thank you all. Amy

  13. I am currently in the hospital after the surgery and I have burpng issues! My hubby brought me the gas x strips but my nurse said I'm not allows to take them since they're not on my meds list!!! What do I do!?
  14. I took 2 mini walks today!!!!

  17. I'm so nervous for this change that I managed to crap myself in the shower. And I'm a state corrections officer in a men's prison, for Christs sake. Here we go, everyone. Wish me luck, prayers, good energy, healing, or whatever you believe in- I will take it. Love you all. Amy
