  1. My Doc must take a much more conservative approach. I just finished week1 and just started all liquids today! I wont get pureed foods, etc until next Friday. I enjoyed my first protein shake at lunch, but felt AWFUL afterwards. My body is adjusting to the 'new' nutrients and I was not expecting to feel like doo-doo. I am fine now....drinking water and relaxing! so glad you are doing well so far! Good luck finding things you like to eat...my taste buds have already changed so I am trying everything. My husband gets what I dont like...luckily he will eat anything.

    2 Weeks Post Op!

Hi! I am nearly 1 week post-op and finally feeling human again! I get to start the non-clear liquids tomorrow....YIPPEE!!! I am with you that the shakes are simply repulsive, but I heard with the brand I still have left adding a teaspoon of peanut butter cuts the nastiness (and obviously adds a little more protein). i have not yet met my daily requirement of protein, but only drinking ISOPURE has been the factor. I am a protein *****, so I know i wont have an issue when I am done with clear liquids :-) Exercise has been slow, but it is happening. I decided I will hit a mile today and plan to hit 2 by early next week. We have a lake near our house that is 2-miles around and I want to be walking it by the end of next week. Thanks for your post. Mine is boring, but I am so thrilled to be writing it! This journey is going to be GREAT!
  3. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right decision letting everybody and their brother know because when i head back to work sometime next week they will be expecting some unbelievable immediate transformation and that is not going to happen! You are right about negativity. i have one friend that is adamant i should have just done a year of shakes and I would be fine. People just dont understand! Most people are very supportive, however and I believe the larger your support group the better. If you are unable to share with the people around you, definitely share on here because everybody is pulling for you and is ecstatic about your weight loss!!!!

    30Cc Of Protein Drink....then Pain

Hi! I am 4-days out and enjoying lots of gas pain and misery. I am finding that the only thing to remedy this is walking and trying to relax. My mini-meltdown yesterday caused all sorts of havoc on my tummy. My P.A. told me that sometimes the tummy pain is actually caused by hunger. Maybe you are just not getting enough nutrition and cant reach the happy spot because your body actually wants more? Dont try to force it, though. Try something else. I am having great luck with the Isopure protein drinks. They are really mild. Good luck to you. I know it is difficult, but you can do it!
  5. I seem to be the same as msdimples! I am miserable with just my water and isopure. I realize this is only day three post-op, but I keep thinking i should actualyl want to try the jello and maybe lick a popsicle, but I never even want anything. I have also had issues with my liquid hydrocodone and truly hope any discomfort goes away quickly so I can move away from that!!!
  6. I am post-op 3 days and was so thankful to stay an extra night in the hospital. All I can say is dont rush it. Everyone is different and I apparently had a rough time in recovery...had no idea until I was coherent the next day! You will be just fine! Good luck!!! Consider thisan incredible birthday present and next year when you are celebrating you will be celebrating with your new self!
  7. Good Luck to you and I look forward to hearing about your progress. I had my surgery last friday and had so many reservations. I must say this week 1 is tough, but I am looking so forward to getting these lbs off!!!! the good is REALLY outweighing the bad!

    I Forgot - I Think .. Now What Do I Do?

I LOVE this postand dont know why! i am an emotional basketcase right now and trying to get through the 1st week post-op without freaking out. I look forward to worrying about missing my vitamins :-) Right now i am just hoping that the next flavor I try of isopure is better than the orange flavor I am drinking right now.

    Check Your Boobs!

Definitely sending prayers your way. I agree....get those boobs checked! Never put off the important stuff.
  10. Hi Everyone! I sleeved it this past Friday and have been in constipation misery ever since. I kind of expected it because I am that way anyways, but this has been awful. Yesterday I had a bit of a scare. I was taking a drug called Savella for Fibromyalgia. Well, I went ahead and crushed it into my broth and took it. It immediately bumped up my seratonin levels and I was nearly wretching my guts out from it. That would have caused an immediate trip to the ER, so we called my Doc while I was sitting on the toilet wishing for a little gas. I must say...I LOVE my P.A. He told me my body may be craving some protein and I might be able to stop this by drinking my Isopure. I did what he suggested and the desire to vomit left. I did decide to go get the anti-nausea med he prescribed in case this happens again. No more Savella for me! Anyways, i decided each day this week would start with a bottle of Isopure followed by a walk.Hopefully my first BM will come today!
