  1. I meet with my doctor on 8/2 to see if he can do a fill and if not we will discuss other options. I can try to have fills un floro or have a revision to reposition the port. I think the nurses name that tried my fill was Lori. She was very nice but had a difficult time.
  2. Did any of you have problems with your port moving? I went in for my first fill last week and after trying several times to do a fill I was sent for an x-ray. Turns out that my port is tilted now. I had a feeling I did something to it because that area hurt very bad a day before I went to see the doctor. Anyways, after the x-ray I asked them to try again since they could tell which way it was tilted and they still couldn't get it. I am very discouraged now and am having a hard time because I have no restriction.
  3. If the surgeon thinks that the port needs to be put back inplace then I will have to have a small surgery again. I was at wrok bending over to get into a file cabinet and when I sat up I had a very bad pain where my port is. They think that I did something to it then.
  4. How is everyone doing? I thought I would check in. I was doing very good with restriction until about a week ago. All of a sudden I can eat more than I was able to since the surgery. I went in Wednesday for my first fill and they told me that I was doing great and didn't need one. I insisted because I was scared that I could eat more. Needless to say when the nurse tried to do my fill she couldn't access the port. She tried several tiems bending the needle each time. I had to go for x-rays and found out that my port is almost flipped. I asked them to try one more time since they had the x-ray and could see where the port was but thy still couldn't get it. I was and still am very sore now and bruised. I am so disappointed because now they are talking about going in to fix it. I just wanted everything to be smooth.
  5. Hi All, Just checking in. I have been staying off the computer because I tend to stay on it all night and do nothing else, like exercise. I am doing great though. I don't have a fill until July 18th but I am not needing it yet. I get full when I eat about a cup to a cup and a half of food. I try new foods a little at a time and have found a few things that give me problems but can eat pretty much anything right now.
  6. I had a question for you all. I know the guidelines for what types of food I should be eating week by week, but when did you try more solid foods? When I went in for my post op appoinment last week they told me that I was not eating enough (I have been very tired). I just can't stomach more pudding, yogurt, shakes, or etc. right now.
  7. I had my hiatal hernia repaired also. My surgery was June 1st and I am still having some pain from the hernia repair. Did you doctor mention how long that pain would last?
  8. Hello everyone, I haven't posted in a while. Before the surgery I got very nervous and did not want to go on the boards at all. Today is the first day that I have felt like myself since the surgery. I had my post op visit yesterday and tried to bring some of my concerns up with my doctor but he basically said they were normal. He did tell me that I have to eat more though. I have been very tired. Best wishes to everyone that has had their surgery and are recovering and good luck to everyone that is due for surgery soon.
  9. Getting ready to be banded on Friday, good luck to everyone! I had my required pre-op class today and everything went well. Liquid diet still stinks but I am sticking to it.
  10. Still working through the liquid diet. I have managed to follow it except for the number of times per day that the doctor wants me to have shakes. The surgical group that my doctor is in asks all patients to lose 10% of their weight before surgery. I am scared that I am not going to be able to do that and that they will tell me they can't do the surgery. I am also having side and back pain and am worried that something else is wrong and it will delay my surgery also. The doctors are so booked that if I had to changed my surgery date it would be months before I could get another date.
  11. Dr. C, Recently I started having a pain on my right side. It has now spread accross my back. I am worried about gall bladder issues. Does this sound like it could be gall bladder related?
  12. Toni, My headaches are getting better, thanks for asking. The liquid diet has gotten a little easier and I have stuck to it 100%.
  13. I think there is more than one western. Mine is in Reno, Nevada.
  14. Thank you all for the replys. I bought some sugar free chocolate syrup and it is a little better now. I also have been drinking chicken broth at night. I am stinking to the liquid diet 100% by not having anything else but still not having as many shakes as they say you should have per day. I am working my way up to it.
  15. Thanks Toni. I felt much better today, only a little headache. I still wasn't able to get 6 shakes in, I could ony do 2.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
  16. Dr. Sasse is doing my surgery and he didn't say anything about the 10% when I had my appointment with him last week. But then again I hadn't started the liquid diet yet. By the way, how are you doing? Feeling and healing ok?
  17. I started my two week liquid diet today. I can have protein shakes, broth, water, and sugar free kool aid basically. I am supposed to have about 6 shakes per day but could only do 3. At least I wasn't hungry. All I can say is yuck and I can't wait for this part to be over.
  18. I had my pre-op appointment last week and just started my liquid diet today. I do not like the shakes and was only able to drink three of them. I quess when I get real hungry I will be able and wanting to do more but today I really had to force myself. At least I wasn't hungry. I am worried that I will not drop the 10% in weight that they ask of you before surgery. Do you all meet that requirement?
  19. I already had my pre-op appointment and just started my two-week liquid diet today. I ended up with a migraine and only had the shake 3 times today when I was supposed to do 6. After the first 3 I couldn't imagine eating more, it was making me nauseous. Maybe after a few days and being real hungry I can do 6 shakes, they are not very tasty though.
  20. Thank you. Congats to you, it looks like you are doing great with your weight loss!
  21. I am 31 now and was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 17. It has been very difficult for me with the weight and pregnacy issues. My husband and I tried to have a baby for five years before we had our son, he is 7 now. After I had him my PCOS seemed to go out of control and I am up to my heaviest weight ever. My surgery date is June 1st and I can't wait. By the way because my periods come and go whenever they want to so I am worried that it will decide to start around my surgery date. Does anyone know if they will still do the surgery if youare on your period?
  22. We should all use this thread: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=33199
  23. Hello everyone, I have a June 1st date also. I am worried that it may be changed though becuase the last couple weeks I have been experiencing a pain in my right side at night. I had it again on Thursday and today my side is a little sore. I have no idea what it is. Of course people are telling me it could be gall bladder issues, kidney stones, etc. I think I will have to go to a doctor and find out what is going on.
  24. Anyone out there being banded in June?
  25. Congratulations!!! I am having the surgery on June 1st.
