Ladies, what do you consider your ideal dress size ?
Yeah,..had me a bit concerned too LOL we'll wait for the update I'll tell you one thing... I had gone to a thrift store and found a beautiful braided belt for $1.00 only to find out it was COACH!!! It was WAY too small for me (at the time) so I was going to sell it... found it after we recently moved...and I had room to spare...talk about your NSV!!! I love wearing it...it is truly a "symbol" for me even tho no one else sees it LOL

Protein Shakes! Help!
I don't use many powders...didn't like the texture... but for after (if your doc insists on powder for now) you may qualify for free Protein shakes thru InsureNutrition.com it only takes a minute to fill it out and you can do it now, so you will have it ready when needed For the powders, you can add crystal light and possibly Torani syrups (sugar free) to help with the flavor... I find blending them with ice made them more digestable for me.

Day 8 and a Stall Already?
Wow, you are the first person I've heard that from...most doctors (in the beginning) want us to wait....but you do what they tell you...but don't panic... you will be fine... trust in the program!

Will surgery after certain age make you look haggard?
@Chelly we are almost equal...!!! I have RA so that was another benefit for losing weight... You will FEEL younger, therefore you will BE younger Enjoy

So many questions after surgery: leakage, protein, etc...
did you call your doctor? It sounds like it may be (partially) gas pain...so walking may help relieve some of the pain... yes taste buds do change... you may need to add things to your Protein...like flavored sugar free syrups, etc and that may help... I found one too thick, so I blend it with ice and flavors and it is much more "do-able"... good luck!

Day 8 and a Stall Already?
PUT THAT scale AWAY!!! you are going to drive yourself crazy if you weigh yourself constantly...stick to once a week at the same time and place... some doctors don't want you to weigh yourself until you see them! Every day your weight will fluctuate...that's life... you are not at a stall or a real gain... relax... it will work itself out...but PUT THAT SCALE AWAY!!! for your own sanity!!!

Advice please? Confused and need help
I am sure before he removes the band, he'd make sure you are covered for the sleeve... a LOT of members have had revisions
-
Advice please? Confused and need help
Many doctors have stopped doing the band because they are not finding it good for people long term...you are lucky your insurance is going to cover it... The sleeve has been a god-send to me...I have RA and could barely walk...even tho I'm not where I want to be, I feel like a "normal" person again. Are you afraid of another surgery or just the fact that they want to do the sleeve? You should do GREAT with it! Best of luck!

NSV again...
funny I have the same problem...the other day, I was holding something and noticed my veins were "popping"...so weird to be excited about that...but it's wonderful!
-
energy!
What we seem to forget is that we just had MAJOR surgery...even tho you may have a few little incisions on the outside, inside you have been "re-routed"...unless you had the band... not listed here, so I don't know. Give yourself time to recoup! The anesthesia alone takes a few days to get out of your system, and that tires you as well... just relax, you will get better, promise!

Severe Back Pain?
usually for the gas pain/bubble, most surgeons tell us to walk to help relieve it... the doc couldn't give you any advise except to wait?
-
Before picture views! ack!
yep, I agree...I don't even have that stuff posted on Facebook... it's best to keep the private things private!
-
85% convinced. How do I get to 100%?
Enjoy your trip...just think...after the surgery, you will be able to enjoy trips more... it's so nice having room in the seat...not having to get an extention for the seat belts... being able to bend down to tie your shoes back up... etc etc etc... life is good! We are here for you

Surgery april 8...excited!
@kazzygal sorry, didn't see your note until now I have unsweet tea and add my splenda... You can get flavor enhancers, like Mio, Torani syrup, Crystal light in individual packs, and carry them with you so you don't have to have just Water....but since you don't drink during your meal... I don't find it a problem...and have the water if I need it. But I don't miss my Diet Coke AT ALL...no carbonated anything...no coffee...just tea and flavors and I'm good Hope all is well with you

Scared I wont be able to do this
Check with your doctors office for support groups...our hospital conducts 2 a month and then the psych does one a month This sight has recipes, you can also go to TheWorldAccordingToEggface.com... she has a bunch, or pick up a cookbook... Success Habits has a cookbook...Colleen Cook often has articles on here and she has lots of info on her website as well... Many MANY recipes can be easily converted with a little imagination

Scared I wont be able to do this
We all have a fear of failure, mostly because of the many times we have tried to lose weight in the past...and ultimately failed. This surgery is a tool... you still have to work at it... but it will make it easier for you! Find support groups and keep your head in the game! You can do this! Trust in yourself! If I never lose another pound, I am SO happy I did this and where I am today!

Pre-Op Diet while on business trips, meetings and family affairs
Wow...4 weeks pre-op seems a bit excessive...but each doctor is different, as you are aware... I had to do 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after...which, after the first few days was fine. I understand what you mean...but for now, you have to take care of YOU and follow your program. If someone asks, you can tell them that you can't eat because you are prepping for surgery... if you don't want to tell them more, just say, it's personal, or I don't wish to talk about it. People with etiquette queues should know enough not to press you further. Family events are going to change forever... it's not about the food, it's about the PEOPLE... that's what you have to remember. It will be easier once the surgery is done, but it still takes work... hang in there. good luck

Excess skin/Hanging skin/Complications with Sleeve?
I haven't had any real complications...a bit of a dehydration/nausea thing...but that's over, of course. With my skin...as with a LOT of us the biggest problem is the ol' bat wings...I have been working with weights without much luck, as of yet. My stomach isn't too bad yet...but I still have a bit to go...and then we shall see With my age, I have a lot of cottage cheese skin on my thighs...but I don't care... I am and feel like a functioning human being again...so the cottage cheese and bat wings are worth it
