  1. Raven......did you have any weight documentation anywhere else? Like from a job pre-screening, curves, weight-watchers.......etc.
  2. Thanks.....I hope your denial gets overturned!
  3. My doctor talks to the insurance company, one on one, to fight for me to get the surgery.
  4. I don't have the same insurance but was just denied for lack of weight documentation. Have been seen for several years (18 to be exact) at the same clinic and they didn't take my weight every time. The weights that are on file are under 35 BMI (one being 34.9). I am now in the process of a peer to peer with my doctor and the insurance. If that doesn't work, we will appeal. Good luck and keep us posted!!!
  5. I got denied because the nurses rarely weighed me. I have been overweight for years but every trip to the drs office, they took my temperature and vitals but not my weight. My insurance requires documentation of a certain BMI. We are now doing a peer to peer and if that doesn't work we have to appeal. Ugh.....so frustrating!!!
  6. My surgeon uses a 38 bougie.
  7. I don't have this problem but would check into a dermatologist! I'm sure you're not the only one with this problem. I have several skin tags that I would like removed. We all have our own skin issues. Good luck!!!
  8. I have my back surgeon and my pcp doing a peer to peer with the insurance company. Hopefully that will make them approve me. Otherwise I can appeal, or wait til next November for my surgery. UGH.....so frustrating!!!!
  9. I did the sleep study also.
  10. Mind you, I've been above a 40BMI for over 5 years but every time I went into the clinic, they never took my weight. They took all my vitals and temperature but no weight. I have completed everything for my insurance (6 nut visits, psych visit and met with the surgeon). All I have left is the endoscopy and pre-op visits.
  11. Insurance is pissing me off too! I've been denied for my BMI being below 35 in the past. It was 34.9 Talk about a bad taste in your mouth!!!!
  12. There aren't very many Wisconsinites on here. I'm from the LaCrosse area.
  13. Gonna do some digging for info....will keep u posted!
  14. I have had a BMI over 35 for the past 5 years but it isn't on paper at the doctors office. They never weighed me. That's the only reason they denied me. We are looking into weight prior to those dates and resubmit. I have Gundersen Lutheran insurance.
  15. Just got confirmation that I have been denied. On to the appeal process!!!
  16. Bariatrics just called me and told me the insurance company wouldn't accept the pictures as proof of weight. They haven't denied my case yet but it's not looking good.
  17. Thank you, thinathart.....I had back surgery in February and they discovered arthritis in both hips and my spine. I also have HBP and sleep apnea. Hoping that will be enough but if it isn't, I have pictures with dates to back up my weight. Hopefully insurance will accept that. Fingers crossed.....I should find out within a week or two.
  18. That would be awesome.....those I have! I will have to look into that!
  19. Has anyone been denied for not having a weight history on file at doctors office? I've gone to the doctor but they didn't weigh me for 3 years straight. I only have a year on file of my weight and need 2 years per my insurance. I haven't been weighed anywhere else. So frustrated!!!!
  20. Lmao......I need all the luck I can get!!!
