  1. I actually run sleep studies, if you have any questions. Feel free to ask!
  2. You aren't supposed to take your calcium and Multi at the same time. Something about the calcium and iron blocking each others absorption I think.
  3. I had the SI sleeve on 9/4. I couldn't believe how fast I felt great. The morning of my 4th day out, I was off of my pain meds. It itches and drains still since its in a tricky spot, but no pain. I had seen an ad for this procedure online and asked my surgeon if she would do it. She said that she could, it's a bit more difficult, but feasible. I told her it wasn't a big deal if she couldn't, and I didn't want any complications. The other site for the liver retractor is so small! It's about a 1/4 inch. This one around my belly button is bigger. It's shaped like an omega.
  4. I had the single incision and that baby itches!! Since its at my belly button and in a moist spot, it's taking a while to heal. I still have some bloody drainage, but he nurse said it looks good. As long as redness isn't radiating from it and it's not overly warm or draining the yellow or green, it's ok. Itchy itchy itchy though! I'm not allowed to put anything on it, no lotions. Gotta keep it clean and dry.
  5. I drink a packet of the chocolate Carnation powder in 10 oz of milk and add a scoop of the GNC AMPd 60 Cookies and Cream. It's like 30g Protein.
  6. I hear ya! I've bought so much useless stuff because I needed to get out of the house. I've been to the Mall and TJ Maxx and I just make sure I have a cart and go slow. I don't have much soreness, but I'm still thinking about one of those compression bands too.
  7. Have any of you ladies had a BM yet?
  8. Hardest thing for me to remember at 6 days out is to not chug my drinks! I keep grabbing my water and taking a few swigs at a time. Ouch! When will I learn?
  9. I'm glad you are feeling a bit better! And hopefully your hubby is as well I also had to try a new med for nausea because zolfram just was not working. I've been feeling pretty good still. Some soreness at incision sites, though. I'm so ready for purée!
  10. Hey Twin! Also sleeved on 9/4. I had a single incision at the belly button and a very small one at the top of my stomach. I had a lot of nausea in the hospital and was also kept an extra day because I couldn't keep anything down. I don't have a lot of pain outside of the incision sites. I've been getting walks in as often as I can. I'm trying to drink broth but I'm just not very hungry. I hug a pillow any time I move. I also use a hearing pad on my belly when I'm resting. I haven't passed gas yet, though I have good bowel sounds. Girl, you will feel better soon!
  11. Heading in! Good luck to all my 9/4 sleevers!!
  12. Anyone starting to have diarrhea?
  13. You can do this!!! I hope the Xanax works for you!! If they don't explain anything fully to you please ask questions. If they scare you or are moving too fast for you, say something to them. Good luck!
  14. I'm with you! I was only supposed to start mine this past Sunday, but I decided to start early last Wednesday because I kept wanting to have these food funerals. It was fine and I wasn't getting sick of anything. Then Monday came and brought Aunt Flo with it. YIKES!! I was so weepy and whiney and just started craving anything. I had to take a box of all of the food I crave to work and give it away. I'm PMSing and have headaches and I'm crabby and I'm hungry! I have been almost tempted to just chew food and spit it in the cup. I'm staying strong and not cheating...somehow. I don't honestly know how much longer I can do this, but I don't wanna do anything that could possibly jeopardize me having this thing. Thank goodness the surgery is in 5 days.
  15. You and me BOTH!! I'm so grumpy it's ridiculous! I just want to chew something. I've been almost tempted to chew food and spit it out in a cup just for a different flavor. I haven't cheated yet. I'm on a full liquid diet. Since 8/22 when I started it, I've had crazy headaches the later in the day it became. Wanna hear the best part? It's that very special time of the month, so all the grumpiness and cravings are intensified. YAY. SOOOOO excited for Sept. 4th! I never thought I would be so excited to start eating what I call babyfood (pureed stuff) a week after surgery. These days need to hurry!!!
  16. I feel EXTREMELY fortunate that my mom taught me how to sew! I think that I will be ok taking things in for a while. All that money that I'll save on new clothes and scrubs for the in-between sizes are going to my new wardrobe
  17. Agreed! I started Wednesday, which was a few days earlier than I needed to. Yesterday (well it's still my today since I work nights) was rough! I was finally satisfied by some beef broth. I find the warm liquids make me feel more full. Anyone else getting that?
  18. I have some headaches. Especially later in the day. I am supposed to have at least 75grams of protein
  19. 9/4 here! Liquid diet hasn't been too bad. My main issue is that my mouth tastes gross and I feel like my breath stinks. Then again, I'm not hungry because I take Adderall for my ADHD. I actually feel like I have to force it all down, so I just schedule it all in.
  20. So far, I'm enjoying organic chicken broth and I just season it up. I tried the veggie broth and ick! I'll have to get some beef broth to try
  21. By the way, this is anything but minor. Do you have benefits? FMLA? Anything you tell your boss should be confidential. There is no reason they would ever need to tell your coworkers what is specifically going on with you. I would say, I'm having surgery on this day and will be out for this long. If they as which, ask If you are required to disclose that. If you are, be honest and also state that this is to be kept confidential. If not, be vague.
