My new favorite drink is water, surprisingly. Ice cold water. I am just over two weeks out and literally everything is too sweet for me that I have to dilute it tremendously so that it practically tastes like water.

I'm not sleeved yet but I've been instructed to drink as if I were. I agree with the Sobe Life Zero. I don't feel left out at convenience stores.
I've become a lover of loose tea. Have my own special brewing pot and enjoy ordering and trying new types. It takes time to make and prepare so I make it at night. Just the little ritual seems to stave off the late night munchies for me.

I got hooked on 7Eleven's sugar free slurpees, particulary the cherry limeade!!! Then I start adding ice too it. Maybe hooked isn't accurate, ADDICTED is the truth! Lord help me, lol!!! But, give me some ice cold water and my sleeve and I are content:)

I hope you feel better soon. I am 3 months out and one small glass of wine about knocked me on my butt, but I'm not a big drinker and I used to only drink beer once in a great while, but now that's out. It definitely takes time to get accustomed to the new 'normal' but in the end it's worth it.
I am sure your note will sink in with other people and prevent someone else from going through the terrible time you went through.
Cut yourself some slack, and remember this is a long journey and we all learn from our mistakes.

I may feel different than most, but I told everyone. I lived with shame of gaining weight and being over weight for so long. I will not feel bad for making an educated decision that I explored for three years to help myself have a better life. Sure, I had a few friends who didn't understand until I explained the everyday things that I go through. They didn't know I have to wear spanks everyday:( cant go shopping with them because I need a speciatly store. Can't pick something up off the floor, have to ask for seatbelt extenders, that I can't sit in statium seating. I also told them that I would get fast food before dinner with them so they would not know how much I really eat. My friends became very supportive and my biggest cheerleaders after they knew the whole story, they want what's best for me, they just didn't really understand how much I was hiding for years. I don't know if you have done that are if your ready but I made the decision to have my surgery and come out with all of my weight issues and I feel like a huge weight of another kind was lifted. Best of luck, everyone needs a cheerleader!

Prior to surgery, I had decided to tell as least amount of people as possible. My hubby, daughter, 2 very close girlfriends and 2 coworkers knew. Well, one of the coworkers blabbed my secret (altho i continued to deny it and said I had hernia surgery) but I started hearing all kinds of negative comments about wls and how people shouldnt have it, etc. The reason I didnt tell any of my siblings is becuz I didnt want to be watched & criticized on how much I put on my plate or "are you suppose to eat that", etc.
I was told in one of the group meetings prior to surgery, that you should only surround yourself with positive & supportive people who want to be on this journey with you. So that was when I decided who to tell/not tell.
    Hang in there!

Well, Beloved, I learned a lesson today, one that I've read of on here before. Today I just wasn't very hungry. I didn't have Breakfast. I drank 25% of an Isopure and had some chicken broth mid afternoon. I only drank 30ish oz of fluids.
    I had surgery Monday, August 20, 2012.
Guess what, I got light headed and dizzy tonight. Thank goodness for chick broth and powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Chicken Soup Protein powder!
Lesson learned and a word to all my follow new sleevers: eat even if you don't feel hungry!

I had to be on a clear liquid diet 2 weeks prior to surgery. I cheated 3 times the first week. I realized I couldn't eat much, and when I cheated, I got sick. I had surgery Wednesday August 22nd. I lost 17 lbs on the pre-op. Hang in there. It will be worth it.

I am on day 3 of 7 day liquid preop. It was killing me yesterday. My mother in law brought over 30 (!) cupcakes for the kids and my husband made BBQ for dinner. Ugh!
I took myself to the gym and took my frustrations out on the elliptical. Still wanted a cupcake! I did take a swipe at the frosting and immediately felt guilty.
I am trying to keep my eye on the prize and know that I can get through this. My surgery is 8/30, can't wait!

I am on day 5 of the pre-op liquid diet & I haven't cheated. I really just would like some scrambled eggs. I don't know why. I make scramble eggs with all & 1/2 a yolk from one egg. Ahhh! For some reason I haven't been that hungry on it, just today good sounds good. I think bc it's the weekend & we normally go out to eat on Friday or Saturday night. Oh well! We can make it!
