  1. Have you tried a consignment shop or a thrift store like Goodwill. I can usually find nice name brand clothes at my local thrift store for a fraction of the price of new.
  2. I always have had large calves so I never could wear knee high boots off the rack, even as a teen. I envy anyone who can.
  3. One day I was cleaning out a closet in the spare bedroom and I found a pair of small jeans. I asked my daughter if they were my granddaughter's to which she replied "Mom, those are yours". I was shocked at how small I used to be and how big I'd become. I want to fit into those jeans again (size 8 for those wondering).
  4. I have a facebook account. Feel free to add me.
  5. I'm waiting on insurance approval. I'm very impatient as I want the surgery in December so I don't have to go to a second approval with another insurance company.
  6. My surgery date may be in mid December if my approval comes through so I'll miss all the Christmas goodies. Even something okay like turkey. But it is so worth it.
  7. I just quit cold turkey and it has been a week for me. Just one day when I ran out of cigarettes I decided I didn't want to screw with it anymore. I quit before twice and picked it back up for varying reasons. This time I hope it's for good but I live with 2 smokers so it is going to be tough.
  8. I'm still cigarette free. I think it has been a week since I've had a cigarette. My NUT was really pleased with the fact I quit.
  9. I'm still pre-op and I'm taking an oral B12 supplement. Is there a reason you are getting the B12 injections?
  10. I had this feeling when I had my tubes tied. Every time I rolled from side to side it felt like all my internal organs were resettling. I've not had surgery yet but I expect to have the same feeling.
  11. I've given up coffee, cigarettes and sweets. I don't know what will be my new addiction. I just hope it isn't shopping! I don't have the money!!
  12. You look fabulous. Way to rock that sleeve.
  13. Thanks for sharing. I found this very informative and plan to watch the hour long one also.
  14. I was told maybe a surgery date of December. I hope so because I'll be changing Medicare Advantage Plans so my insurance will be different in January. I have started drinking protein shakes in preparation for my pre op and post op diets. Glad to hear everyone is doing well.
  15. I just quit smoking so I'm struggling not to gain weight by going on a modified pre op diet. Once I get to my real pre op diet it will be a piece of cake. Ha.
  16. 3 days smoke free for me.
  17. I have to agree with Gene. I've had a couple of sleep studies for apnea one my original diagnosis and the 2nd to recheck my pressure and get a new machine.
  18. Sorry to hear about your stomach swelling. I hope it all resolves quickly. Keep us updated. I'm in Cincinnati Ohio and don't have a surgery date yet.
  19. This thread is so helpful for those of us looking forward to surgery. Thank you.
  20. Hope everything goes well and you have a smooth recovery.
  21. I was going to quit 3 days ago but have had 1 or 2 cigarettes each day. That is down from a pack a day so maybe tomorrow is my day for no cigarettes at all. I definitely could use all the help I can get.
