  1. Unjury has a chicken broth protein thing. I have not tried it, but do use and love their other flavors. You may could call them (number on their web site) and ask for a free sample. They are very helpful folks.
  2. If you cannot stick to the pre-op diet after changing Protein shakes and all--- give it up. You will find the post-op diet to be harder still. And yes, my doctor's NUT assured me that the doc had opened patients, saw the liver and knew they had not done the diet, closed them and sent them home. Do it if you are serious, no matter what it takes. Call the doctor's office and talk to someone. Surely you are not the first patient to have this trouble. Variety is the spice of life, so don't stick to just one kind of supplement.
  3. You'll have lots of big pants really soon. Be patient about another week. My biggest problem now is finding pants that fit halfway decent and stay that way for a few weeks. I buy them too tight and wear them until they won't stay on. I need to invent some suspenders that are "flesh" colored (that's a joke right there) and go UNDER my shirts......
  4. Has any one found a good site that will TELL you an estimated or average cost of surgery. Most of them just say "the value cannot be measured in dollars...". I guess they are not talking about MY dollars!
  5. It seems that you are losing at a good rate--- people are all different and we lose at different rates. Glad you are so close to goal. Keep going, you will get there!
  6. Sounds like you may need a new doctor......

  8. Remember, those artificial sweeteners may be 300 to 600 times sweeter than sugar, but you only get a tiny, tiny bit of the sweeteners in a packet (or tube of Crys.lite, for that matter). The rest of the stuff in the splenda/whatever envelope is dextrose and some other non-sweet junk so it will flow smoothly....

  10. I agree. You may not have to go all the way back to liquids, but portion control seems like a logical place to start. That and lots of Water. Oh, you so do not want to go backwards!!! Good luck to you. It will be work, for sure, but so worth it. Think of all you have gained by being normal sized!!!
  11. Some drug stores have little 32 oz tubes that have mega-protein. I understand they are very sweet, but at least they are smaller quantity. You may want to get one and try that.
  12. Way to go!!! Life is all about the little pleasures--- and we avoided so many of them just because we were "too big".
  13. I knew sugery was the right thing for me when I hit 308 at the doctor's office. I was so embarassed--- I guess like 297 was a "great" weight. I knew I could not continue to live like that----- knee pain, insulin-dependent diabetes, high blood pressure, couldn't get up off the floor without LOTS of effort, could hardly sit in a plane seat....... I was trying to decide between the lap-band and true by-pass. My doctor said my insurance had just started approving gastric sleeve, and that was it!!! Family was unsure---- but I pushed on and they all eventually got on board and supported me. I love it, I am glad I did it, and wish I had done it 10 years ago. I am living again.
  14. Thanks for the info. More I lose the bigger it looks, so I guess I am kind of anxious to get it done!

  16. Funny, funny, funny!!! But great on getting back moving!!! Good for you!
  17. Wow!! Lesson learned the hard way, huh? I am WAY to scared to do that at all!! Glad you are better. Be nice to yourself awhile-- like liquids, maybe.
  18. Congrats!!! I can hardly wait to be in Onederland!
