  1. I am with you and think that's a Big victory!!! Congrats!!!
  2. You r doing fantastic!!! Keep up the good work!
  3. I completely agree with you which is why I decided to have the surgery. I started my prep op diet in early August at 195, had surgery on 8/28 at 175 and 3 weeks later I am st 160! This is thR lowest I have been in probably 10 years and I feel greAt. I'm already off cholesterol meds and working on getting my weight down to at least 140. No complications from surgery and even stopped my pain meds on day 2. I feel great!
  4. I totally admit I cheated during my prep. I was supposed to have 4-5 optifast shakes and only sugar free jell and such. But when I cheated I not ate protein and I lost 20 pounds in 3 weeks! Just get back on the saddle again and start again!
  5. I was also sleeved 8/28 and was 175. Today I was at 160 so 15 pounds in 3 weeks. I'm ecstatic!
  6. Yes it is great. My diet was 4-5 shakes a day and NO MEALS! That is about 800 calories. I lost 20 pounds Pre op.
  7. The pain isn't evens bad as a c section. As a matter if fact I stopped pain Meds the next day. Nausea was the worst part but it only lasted the first 24 hours for me. Good luck!
  8. tQ I am in Dallas too and did the surgery at end if august. I was 195 and 5'5" so u aren't crazy. I new I had to do something because years of yoyo dieting wasn't working. As for shakes I use out fast vanilla and love it with PB2 added. Tastes like a peanut butter shake and if you use skim milk it has 28 grams of protein! But it's a meal replacement shake too so I get lots of other vitamins as well. Can order on amazon. Also for straight protein I like gold standard vanilla ice cream shake mix from GNC. Hope that helps.
  9. The pain meds made me extremely sick and once I stopped taking them I was sooooo much better.
  10. Update: 195 before surgery 175 on surgery day 8/28/2012 150 Goal by Halloween 162 current weight!!! Yay! Only 12 pounds to go!
  11. One quick note. Someone on here was saying that protein shots are not good because they are made of collagen protein instead of whey and that your body does not digest them the same way. So have to agree that you probably need some dense meat instead. Just a thought.
  12. I know ur right about the scale. It's just hard not to step on it. I think I will officially not weigh in until Tuesaday.
  13. Being in a stall this early is very frustrating!!! I thought maybe I was stalling because I wasn't getting calories and Protein so I started upping my protein two days ago and I still haven't lost anymore. Ugh!!! I know I'm just being impatient but since we r just over 2 weeks out I thought I wouldn't hit a stall for a couple of more weeks. Anyonw have ideas for breaking a stall? I'm exercising, getting 40-50 grand if protein, and not getting too many calories at all. Do I just ride it out?
  14. I drink the alpine punch of isopure and it's 40 grams a bottle. Tastes like koolaid. I haven't tried any other favors yet but there are some coupons for GNC so you might try that too. It's like 6 per bottle. I was sleeved on the 28th also and I still feel a lit of tugging on that left incision. Especially when I am very full or when I have picked up something I shouldn't have. It does get better though. Hope that helps.
  15. Your not a loser u just need some help getting back on track. Look how far you've come!!!! Now hike up those big girl panties and start fresh again. Maybe kick start with a 2 week liquid diet. Start recording your eating in an app like myfitnesspal and get a workout buddy. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
  16. Update: 165 as of today!! 15 more pounds to go!!
  17. I'm the 27th too and lost 10 so far. But I Lost 20 on the three week pre op diet. Plus I figure I will lose slowly since I gave less to lose. I have 25 more to get to goal and really hope I can do that by Christmas but kind of in a stall right now. Haven't lost anything for 4 days.
  18. Right most people are starting their week 3 diet now. It's different for everyone.
  19. Wish I could start purée but my doctor calls for one more week of liquids! Ugh! The good news is I'm down 10 pounds in 2 weeks and I'm out of the obese weight and just overweight now. Yay.
  20. Meant to say that I did 3 weeks of liquids for prep which is how I lost the 20 pounds.
  21. I was 195 and lost 20 pounds on prep diet. Had surgery 8/28 and I'm down another 10 in that 2 weeks. Hope that helps.
  22. 1. Are you taking Prilosec? Acid can make you very nauseous when u have an empty stomach. I gave had reflux for years and it has always been the worst when I'm hungry. 2. If you can't eat can you at least keep drinking water throughout thr day. I agree that you need ti stay hydrated. 3. Try something very high in protein to make it last longer in your system. What about isopure? You could even sip they all say long and it has 40. Grams of protein and tastes like koolaid. Food I would try would be any meat you can tolerate. Don't worry if it's not a breakfast food. Heck try chicken or something. I know I'm not crazy about eggs do I would just try something I can tolerate. Hope this helps.
  23. Have u tried isopure? I got some from GNC. ALPINE punch. It doesn't have milk and goes down like flavored water. Also tried the lactaid this morning and it seemed to help. Plus I am drinking the shake very slowly and mixing in only 6 ounces of water rather than 8. That helps too. Hope these ideas help.
  24. I just checked the Unjury packets I have here at home and they say right in them that they contain Milk. So I would you need to find milk free products. I'm having a similar problem with my shakes where I feel really cramped within few minutes of drinking them. I went out last night and bought Lactaid packets to pour in my shakes, but I haven't tried it yet. I'll let you know if it helps. They also have chewable tablets that you take before you eat and it's supposed to help digest the dairy. I'm not having diarrhea though so not quite as bad.
