  2. 9 months out at the end of this month & I've lost 95 pounds! Can't believe how fast it has gone by.... so blessed!
  3. I just had mine done on June 25th and so far I've lost 27 pounds which I'm super thankful for but..... it seems this surgery had made me more aware of my eating problems/habits which have made me have to take a real look at ME. Someone I've been avoiding all my life... I always avoid mirrors and when I go to shower I NEVER look at my body... and because of the surgery I've had to. I have felt depressed actually looking at myself thinking, "wow I can't believe I let it get this bad".... with baggy clothes its like you're hiding. My poor husband... he has been in love with me since high school & he has always seen true beauty in me. I feel so bad for him having to help me through this real examining of myself. He has been so proud of me and it hurts him when I am so upset with my body. He has to keep reminding me that I did make a change and am changing. I love him so much, he has loved me for me and I can't wait to be the person he deserves. I don't know how long it will take for me to change those habits you all described... because I sure do them too.... but each day I will try and focus on how beautiful God has made me and that I'm on a journey of changing.
  4. even still, no regrets hang in there!!
  5. So true about the mental stage... I've had to come face to face with my food issues... and I guess I never thought I had that many. It really made me depressed and now finding other ways to deal with it rather than food. I'm 3 weeks out & 27 pounds lost. My 10 year reunion is the 28th of this month, I hope to have lost more by then!!!! yay!
  6. yeah I wasn't sure if I was supposed to eat a pickle or not but I did... I won't if I'm not supposed to but I was surprised that I could eat it... trust me not everything is like that... I've been only able to eat very little of anything else in my soft food stage....so when I ate the pickle I surprised.
  7. I'm 3 weeks out & I craved a pickle & a cucumber and I started eating the pickle and ate the whole thing! Also, ate a cucumber and both did not upset my stomach at all... was able to eat all of the pickle... I've not been able to eat anything like that at all! I wasn't trying to eat the whole thing by the way... anyway, anyone else have foods that are okay like that? It scared me actually, I was thinking oh my word I ate this whole thing????
  8. isn't it cool though that at 22 pounds we're already seeing results. My sister gave me some of her old clothes so I'm using those but yeah I'm going to have to go to good will soon yay!
  9. So thankful I'm not alone LOL! Yes, and even worse its always someones birthday or a party is happening where a ton of extra pizza is available... haha and everyone says OHH sorry... this must be torture for you. I just say no, I'm used to it.... and inside I'm thinking I'm strong and I can do this and I will be so happy later on. Eat to live, not live to eat
  10. I am curious about this too. I'm 5 days out and I feel like drinks make me feel like that!
  11. So I had to do a 21 day liquid diet... and now that I've had the surgery I have so many cravings... did this happen to any of you? How do you calm them down? I am doing pretty well but I feel like I constantly have had to push away cravings. Is this because I haven't had any real food? Also, when you start eating soft foods what is your usual meal plan? How much Protein shakes should I drink? Right now 2 baby spoons of something soft makes me pretty full. Its weird though.. I mean to be full when you remember just how much you used to eat.. so nuts! Anyway, I'm wondering what meal plans you all are doing. Also, at the end of this month I'll be clear to eat normal (well, small normal lol) again... whats that like? How much and how many bites?
  12. I've just had it on June 25th so I'm a week out and I've lost about 4 pounds. Total though from my liquid diet is 19 pounds. I haven't weighed myself today and I'm trying to hold out until Saturday because I don't want to discourage myself with weighing everyday like I normally do LOL! No complications at all.
  13. I would. I had my husband with me and that made me feel comfortable but the doctor normally does 3 sleeves a day and so there were 2 other ladies with us and now I believe we will be life long friends! I believe you will would feel comfortable if you had to go alone. You will LOVE Jessica, she helps from day 1 of you getting there. She was super sweet and I know it was because of her and those people that I wasn't nervous at all. I'm excited for you!
  14. same here, feeling as though wow I just went through all of this and only a 3 pound loss?? But my husband reminded me that my body is going through a lot and I need to give it time and it will work. I think for me, it was just that I was scared... scared that I would have made a mistake but thats just false. Everything will be okay and just give your body time to rest and do what its going to do. I think I'd worry more if I were into the months and gaining or something yikes!
  15. I just got mine done from Dr. Alvarez... I adore him. They put you in a hotel beforehand, you stay 2 days in the hospital and after they put you in another hotel... all included. They have such a great program and it was really great. I don't know the other doctor but I'm sure he is great too. I just felt so at ease with Dr. Alvarez and his program. I'd call both doctors and get all the information and decide. Not sure if you've already done that but I'd do that and see what you think. I'm almost a week out, yay!
  16. I'm doing so well! Was walking the next day. I am still pretty sore on and get tired easily but I'm well. Hope everyone is doing great! Its so weird to want food but you just can't eat it.... I had 3 baby spoon full of very soft potatoes last night and wow it filled me up! I wanted more but I just couldn't. I am excited to see what this next month brings in weight loss.
  17. I am having mine June 25th as well. Been on my liquid diet for 17 days... have to be on it total of 21! This is hard but I'm doing well. I've lost 14 pounds and I hope to lose more before Monday... but we will see. Anyone know how the pain will be after the surgery? What anyone has told you? I wonder how much I will lose by July 28th.... that is my 10 year high school reunion and I want to look good It is sooo nice to know that I am not alone on June 25th
  18. so funny that I too just bought this today!
  19. I'm on a 3 week liquid diet, my surgery is June 25th so I'm 8 days in. I haven't cheated at all but I'm dying lol- I want regular food so bad. Its weird to only have liquids but I'm going strong. I feel like if I cheat, I would have to start all over again- with the food cravings and such. Right now I have no hunger pains at all, I just want real food, you know? Anyway, anyone else have to go on a 3 week liquid diet? Its super tough!
  20. I am new to this site, I'm going to have my surgery on June 25th and I'm currently on the liquid diet (have to be on it for 3 weeks, I'm 8 days down) and I've told close friends & family. I wouldn't lie to people if they point blank asked me, I might say that this is a sensitive subject and I'd like to keep it to myself. I'm fortunate to be a stay at home mom so I don't have a job to worry about and all of you are so strong that do. I am however very involved with my church & basically told close church members and had them just put me on the prayer chain for "personal surgery". I think people can be so rude & mean at times and they just don't get it. If they haven't gone through this type of thing they just don't know. In short, I'd just tell them you're shy about it & would rather talk about something else!
