Well...your first question...don't try to tell your friends anything...they know you are interested in this surgery...if they are really your friends..they will support your decision... Now...the boy??? Well....you have to decide what you want/// do you want a relationship with this guy?? If so, go for it...if not...then move on.... Good luck to you...i hope you are approved and i hope you will find true happiness.....

First off....when did you get your last fill? And are you over-eating??? Are you waiting the right amount of time before drinking?? I have to stop drinking 30 min.before my meals and i can't drink anything for 1 hour after i eat...

I had already started solid foods by my first fill....i had the fill and then had to go back on liquids for 2 days and then soft foods for a day..then back to normal....solid foods

Okay....first Off, This Is Normal...get Some Liquid Gas-x And Take..and Burp, Burp, Burp...keep Walking And Be Sure To Just Sip Your Liquid........take Your Pain Meds...that Will Help With The Gas Pain....

Debbie, Welcome to LBT..this is a great place to get all kind of support...I understand your fear of needles, I have to say I was scared to have the surgery, but it was the best thing I have ever done...I would do it again tomorrow....I have lost 74 lbs since April of 2007...

Terry, Congrats On Your Surgery Date....the Best Advice I Can Give You....follow Your Doctors Orders To The Letter....don't Eat Or Drink Anything That He Tells You Not To Eat Or Drink....i Had To Be On Liquids For Two Weeks After Surgery, So I Didn't Have To Worry About Having Any Food At Home After Surgery...each Doctor Is Different...so Check With Your Doctor And Find Out What His Orders Will Be....i Will Say This....get Some Liquid Gas-x...it Will Be Needed....and After Surgery....walk, Walk, Walk....good Luck....keep Us Posted On Your Surgery...

I Have Heard Of Some Slippage...hopefully, They Can Improve On The Bands...that Would Be Great...

I Think Some Insurance Companies Will Not Pay No Matter What Your Bmi Is....mine Wouldn't Pay A Dime...i Had Already Had Open Heart Surgery And My Bmi Was 43...they Didn't Care...i Ended Up Doing Self-pay...i Can Tell You This, I Would Do It Again ...i Have Lost 72 Lbs Since April Of 07....

Terri, I can only answer for myself, but I love my band...best thing I ever did...I was banded in 4/07 and I have lost 72 lbs...you have to work with your band, but it is so worth it...I would do it all over again....good luck with your decision...I wish you all the best....

Hello Mindy, Welcome to Lapband Talk...this is a wonderful support group...you will find lots of kind people that will help you with your journey...congrats on your decision to have lapband...I can tell you that this is the best tool you will ever have...you still have to work and exercise, but the band will make you behave...I was banded in 4/07 and I have lost 72 lbs...I could not be happier with the results...I exercise 7 days a week...no excuses...you have to exercise...and I eat less than a half a cup per meal..I use to eat a half a cup, but after last fill, I can't even eat a half a cup....I was a self pay...insurance denied me two times...I paid $15,000.00 and I would do it all over again...I love my band... anyway...please let us know how you are doing...and if you have any questions, feel free to ask... congrats on your decision....I am also short...5 feet 2 inches...I was also a self pay..$15,000.00..best money I have ever spent...I was banded on 4/6/07 and I have lost 72 lbs...I had my surgery in Texas, where I live......Wonderful dotor...I couldn't ask for any better care...
