  2. I just got approved for surgery on June 5th woohoo!!!!! It has been a rocky ride up until this point. Will be having my procedure at El camino hospital Sunnyvale, CA with Dr Feng! Would like to share my journey with others, to keep motivated and accountable...will also be doing YouTube vlogs to have a visual tracking....so are their any June sleevers out there?
  3. I just got approved woohoo!!!!!!!!! It's looking like early June no definite date yet yay!!!
  4. I know the "last meal" is frowned upon but prior to starting my preop liquid diet, I ntend to go to my favorite restaurant and ordering butter and garlic roasted crab with a side of garlic noodles and washing it down with two glasses of red wine
  5. I have blue cross of CA ppo and they will approve you as long as your BMI is greater than 40 or greater than 35 with at least 1 comorbidity, nutrition consult and psych eval.
  6. I think everyone has pretty much said what I'm going to say. I went into the seminar thinking of getting the lap band never heard of vsg, surgeon was raving about vsg, came home did more research, but ultimately for me was during my visit with my surgeon who told me the benefit of vsg over lap band is, with the lap band their is restriction but u may still feel intense hunger but you can't eat, whereas with the vsg they remove the ghrelin producing portion of the stomach which minimizes the hunger pangs.
  7. I could be wrong but doesn't dumping have to do with eating sugar...or fruits high in fructose? Could u just be having some food intolerances? I hear many people develop that after they get sleeved. Haven't had surgery yet but my surgeon told me that sleeves don't get dumping because their wasn't any bypassing, just my 2 cents
  8. If my man starts complaining about the look of my body as I lose weight instead of being supportive....then he can kiknrocks because most definitely their will be a new man out there who will love the new healthier me!
  9. Ummm any responses lol....smh
  10. Yes I was done last Thursday. Still having diarrhea lol but now it's down once a day.
  11. Premier protein shakes from Costco/sams club are not bad
  12. I'm natural now did my big chop in February after transitioning for 5 months I'm taking biotin now for growth and hopefully as a preventative for when I get sleeved. However from what I've read on this forum and from my surgeon the hair loss has to do with protein intake and hormone imbalances during weight loss. For some people it's unavoidable and their are some lucky ones, but I heard it grows back , this was part of the reason I cut my hair prior to surgery so the hair loss wouldn't be as traumatizing.
  13. I'm riding the bandwagon anyone in northern Cali?
  14. Testing my ticker factory
  15. Thank you....insurance companies just want u to jump through their hoops!
  16. I was gaining weight during my nutritional visits, mine was not so much anxiety more the fact that I felt like I won't be able to eat these things very soon so why not enjoy it now. My NUT recommended I follow a low carb diet and sustitute one of my meals with a protein shake. She said its a good way to try out protein shakes for the future and for me a good way to ease myself into my 2 week liquids only preop diet.
  17. Basic questions a little background on you, family support, why you are doing this, ramifications of surgery, eating habits, addictions etc. mostly they want to know that you are fully aware of what surgery entails, how it will affect your life in the future and if you have good support systems
  18. My last Nutrition appt woohoo!!! Just got back from my last nutrition appt, even though I gained 8 lbs since the last appt she didnt extend it yay! So NUT said she would submit info to surgeon today. 10 mins later I got a call from the surgeon's nurse saying she was going over my paperwork and would submit today! She said anthem blue cross takes between 1 to 2 weeks for approval so I'm hopeful.
