  1. Wanted to say congrats to my friend lilbits on being sleeved today woohoo!!! And wishing you a speedy recovery
  2. I could be wrong but my surgeon only wanted me to eat max 800 calories, maybe your caloric intake is too high? Maybe your carb intake is too high? Would discuss with your nutritionist to see where your caloric intake should be at his stage of your journey
  3. Hi everyone hope this isn't TMI but did y'all shave "down there" as prep for surgery why or why not?
  4. Meant to see vlogging (auto correct)
  5. Anyone started making YouTube videos yet, blogging?
  6. Ok so my surgery has been postponed to July 9th bummer but at least it's still getting done. My surgeon said it would be best to build up my iron since its low. I am still a June sleever at heart, and I will still be updating here (since I started this thread ) going to continue to follow a low carb diet so I don't regain all the 12 lbs I lost during my preop diet....good luck to everyone and keep us posted.
  7. Just the broth noodles to high in carbs
  8. Watermelon is not good!!!! Unless ur doc said its ok most preop diets are low carb and watermelon has a high carb content...if u want to maximize ur weight loss I would cut out all fruits.
  9. Lizza I know how you feel, had to stop my preop diet as well and still in limbo...if my PCP doesn't clear me for surgery for June 12th then it's July for me
  10. Ok guys so this past week was hell. I received a call from my surgeons office on Fridays saying that my PCP hadn't cleared me for surgery because my blood/iron levels were low. Needless to say I was livid!!! So I spoke with my PCP and she told me it would be better to wait several weeks to build back up reserves....several weeks!!! I told her I still wanted it done in June and that I would do what I needed to, to get my levels up, so I started taking my Iron pills twice a day along with eating red meat, liver veggies, raisins, and algae. Just had my blood drawn today wish me luck....tentative new date is June 11th Hello to all the June sleevers and please come back here and keep us posted on your journey!
  11. Every surgeon doesn't require it...ur lucky!!
  12. If you're starving eat a piece of meat or boiled egg or some string cheese I've had to do that and it won't hurt your weight loss
  13. I would limit the veggies maybe and eat only protein maybe...veges have carbs (some less than others) the shakes only is a killer!!! But go ahead and give it a try..we are going to have to eat that way after surgery anyway
  14. Wasn't bearable for me until around day 7
  15. I'm sure it's frustrating...what type of a preop diet are you doing? I would try cutting carbs down to 20-40gms per day to speed up wait loss...I'm personally on the Protein shakes only and Im only eating about 20gm carbs a day.
  16. I'm about 2 weeks into my preop diet (I started early) and all I've been craving is salty things I think to counteract the sweet of the shakes. I've been drinking a lot of broth which is surprisingly satisfying to curb my salt craving. Lost 12lbs in 2 weeks so I'm pretty happy
  17. You're close to me I'm having mine at El Camino hospital in Mountain View with Dr Feng!!
  18. Has anyone started their preop diet? What are your feelings? Experiences? How are you surviving it?
