  5. So i started my preop diet, surgeon wanted me to start early coz I've gained weight...so been drinking protein shakes all day and I'm so sick of it already (this is day 4) so to switch it up a little I'm having spicy kimchi broth for dinner yumm!! It really hit the spot!

  9. Pus around incisions means infection. I would go to the ER and let them treat you.
  10. Men are shallow...most men at least...and I don't know where y'all are at but out here in Cali "thick" is not in. AA men here like slim/athletic healthy looking women. And anyway, you should be doing this for health primarily and esthetics secondary and if he is your husband and he loves you he will love you even more for making a healthy decision and if not well that's a whole other issue.
  11. Thanks DcMak72 you are right before me look forward to hearing about your journey
  12. Littlebits we are in this together regardless!!!
  13. Hi julie I can relate to the anxiety. I would talk to the surgeon if you aren't sure about the preop diet. Did you meet with a nutritionist? Because they go over these things in the meeting. You want to be very clear as to what you should be eating first week postop, 2nd week etc, if you aren't, then definitely need a talk with you're surgeon. Some doctors don't require a preop diet but I would do a liquid only preop at least one week before so you can start adjusting to liquids only phase of postop, you will be on it for a few weeks after surgery. Feel free to message me with any questions I don't know much but I can share the info I received from my doc.
  14. The elliptical is wayyy more challenging than treadmill because for one your using both upper and lower body parts and instead of just walking as in a treadmill, it's closer to the movement of walking up stairs which is more challenging.
  15. Congrats guys!! I'm going to add y'all if that's ok....
  16. Hi Shannon I'm June 5th too!!!! Also looking for pals, thinking of doing YouTube vlogs soon as I get that together I will post. Congrats!!!!
  17. I have not been sleeved yet but I have read on these boards that many go through a depression period, that primarily has to do with hormonal changes in your body from the surgery and weight loss, hang in there I heard it passes soon
  18. Congrats on the weight loss! Unfortunately some African amercan's skin have the tendency to keloid, but a doctor/dermatologist can remove that it will be another proceedure that has to get done. Talk to your surgeon see what he/she suggests.
