  1. I'm sch. for Feb 6th and everything is a GO! I could have done the 30th but with my husbands work sch. it ended up it I did it on the 6th he could take of 2 weeks to be off with me. I'm soooo ready to do this and be on the road to being much healthier and feeling better over all. I'm not nervous yet but I'm sure I will be soon LOL just excited!
  2. It seems to me like alot of Dr's just go with it...schedule you.... and figure the insurance out as they go. Mine was approved in Nov. but I still had requirements to do thru my insurance to get the "final" approval whatever that means! My Dr. said don't worry about all that, but I did so he called and talked to me week before last, and my surgery is also FEB 6!!!! yayyya us
  3. Heck I had some sz 5 Rockies that I gave away after about 5 years! But I do still have a pair of 7's that I got into for about a month 10.5 years ago. NOW I'd love to get some Miss Me jeans but I won't go spend $100 until my weight is stable for awhile until then I will be hitting the jeans rack at Ross...they sometimes have the cute rhinestone butt jeans real cheap!
  4. Just say your having your gall bladder or appendix out if you really want to tell them anything...or just say you weren't feeling good and leave it at that. I know high schoolers are some NOSY ppl LOL I have 2 daughters so I KNOW!
  5. From what I have seen on here the low BMI'ers have really good sucess. My BMI is 40 I'm 5'0' and started at 205 now 198. Most all I have seen are at or very near their goal weight. Weight charts say I have to be 125 to be "normal BMI" for my height. I'd like to get to 135ish. 10.5 yrs ago I got to 145 for a short time and I looked dang good then I thought...so 135 will be awesome! My Dr. said I should have NOOO problem getting to 135 but I'm giving myself alittle buffer so I'm not focusing too much on the lowest I can get. I just KNOW anything around 130-140 is a hell of alot better than 215 which is my highest!
  6. Your way too pretty to put up with that ****... ALOT of men are just to frkn blind and stupid to see what they have! Mine's sure not perfect either. My main concern or gripe will be if he starts treating me differently esp. in public. I'm always telling him O that's OK just walk 10 feet ahead like I don't exist back here!!! then he slows down and walks by me...but he does it again the next time. He knows this pissed me off! At home he is usually sweet and attentive most of the time so we will see after 2-6 if he changes his tune. It's alot of little things like that he does... nothing too major (at the moment) but it is still annoying to me. So when I'm thinner if he's hanging all over me in public and holding my hand I'm sure I will give him a piece of my mind!
  7. Well looks like I won't be Jan 30th now but Feb 6 due to my husbands work sch. IF I do it on the 6th he will actually end up being off 2 weeks with me instead of 1 bc he works shift work and that 2nd week will fall on his normal week off . SOOO I guess I will go with that even tho I was really wanting to do it on the 30th LOL
  8. O yaaa yall should post pics so I know what I have to look forward to since us shorties have such a diff body type
  9. I'm 5'0" and currently 201 but having surgery Jan 30, CAN'T WAIT!!! Goal is 130ish but 125 would be great! 135 is still good anything is better than what I am now! The least I have weighed since having kids was 10.5 yrs ago and it was 145 and I looked pretty dang good then...to me anyhow LOL so I'm sure I will be happy with my weight after the surg. I just want to feel better and my joints will def thanks me!
  10. My surgery is also going to be Jan. 30th, Can't wait!!! Mine will be at the hospital system where I am employeds Bariatric Center in Beaumont Texas.
  11. NOW I understand, thank goodness yall can fill me in! Thanks so much! I talked to my surgeon today and he reassured me that my OOP was not going to be some extrodinary amount... I was so relieved!!! Insurance is a nitemare to understand even for us medical folks. I can not imagine how ppl who have no knowlege of how it all works FEEL and how confusing and frustrating it would be... wow
  12. MEEE TOOO : ) finally got all my insurance situated and now it's a GOOO ! yaya
  13. FINALLY!!! So my surgeon called me right after I posted the last post and said they are going to make sure that everything is taken care of and I'm not going to get stuck with thousands in OOP expenses. I actually work for the hoprital system where I'm having it done and he said "our" insurance is the most frustrating to deal with and get concrete answers with. So that makes me feel SOOOO relieved and much better...now I am SCH. for Jan. 30....whewwww finally!!!! yay
  14. I have been "approved" since Nov. but its still a long annoying process to get to the final result...but it will be sooooo worth it!!!!
  15. I have worked in the medical field for 24 yrs and I don't even know what exactly this means as far as what my out of pocket will end up being. I have a primary and secondary both 2 different forms of bcbs Tx We are still working on whats what but maybe someone who has dealt with the coinsurance aspect will fill me in thanks!
  16. I'm approved and going tomorrow to try and sch for Jan 30. Just found out fri that my husbands ins. Which is my 2nd insurance also will cover had has exactly same pre req as my insurance. So now I'm hoping between the 2 I can afford my portion that is left. Hopefully I will he some answers tomorrow!
  17. AHHAAA this ins malarkey is driving me NUTSSSS!!! I am going to the surg office Monday and try to get them to pin it down. I hope they will take the ins payment plus my 2500 out of pocket max...which apparently according to the rude lady I talked to at BCBS doesn't apply to bariatrics. She said it's 70-30 no matter what with a cap of 13k that BCBS will pay. Needless to say if the surg. and facilities are way too high I doubt I will be able to get this done jan. 30...possibly postpone or maybe not at all depending on fees.... which will REALLLLLY suck since I have been working on this since june 28. I actually have a secondarly ins. thru my husband and they are supposed to send a letter saying what criteria I have to meet for them to pay anything.... so maybe between the 2 I MITE be able to afford the rest...we will see I have BCBS blue edge as primary and BCBS anthem as secondary. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed!

  20. Same here mine pays 13k flat over that I'm responsible. I dont understand it all yet. But I know the cash price is 14200 so I'm hoping they don't try to stick ot to me bc I have insurance.ladt week they called and said MY part was gonna be 8k which if they already getting 13k from ins. I hope it's not gonna be that muh more but who knows! Its all so confusing. Who knows!
  21. I have BCBS TX and I had to do a 6 month supervised diet and visits with nut., then a 10 week online program which is required by my job. My healthinsurance thru my job which is a health care facility will cover the surgery if I do all this plus have BMI of 40 or over 35 with co-morbidities. I am in week 8 of my online class so I am hoping to sch. for jan 30th. Right now there is some confusion with the insurance bc I am approved already but surg. office said my copay is 8k but my insurance online says my plan is 80-20 if I use the facility where I work plus I have a max out of pocket of 2500 if I used the facility where I work. This should be correct but I'm going to call my insurance today and double ck. this and if so I will sch. my surg this Wed. for JAN 30!!!!! yayyyyy Insurance is nice don't get me wrong but boy it can be confusing and ALL the companies mite say BCBS but most still have their own independent rules incorperated in as well.
  22. I'd say DO IT! I'm hoping to have mine done 1-30 and I'm 198, but I'm only 5' nothing but I do carry it pretty well. Most ppl say GOSH! your not big enuf for THAT!!!! but I have gained and lost the same 35# about 35x since having my youngest who will be 17 on Wed. I have never been able to keep it off and I have never been able to get down even close to what I should weigh which is about 130. I know my scoliosis and arthritis, bp, and blood sugar will catch up to me even worse if I do not get this weight off and keep it OFF!!! So good luck!
  23. Well after looking at my insurance benefits myself...and having a small heart attack bc the surgeons office called me on Thurs. and said my portion was gonna be 8k... then like I said looking at my benefits myself says IF I use the facility/company that I work for which has a baritric center as part of the hospital that it covers 80-20% and that my max out of pocket is 2500... I was like YESSSS much better. So I'm gonna call the insurance co. myself Monday and confirm all this and then I will Sch. for Jan 30THHHH yayyyaaa!
