    Why Am I Not Losing?

You are doing great! I remember hitting that dreadful 1st stall. I couldn't believe I could eat so little and stall for two weeks. Then one morning I got on the scale and I had lost 4 pounds over night! Your weight-loss journey is a process that is difficult to understand, but keep up the good work. It will be off before you know it. Best wishes on your journey.
  2. Gary got to race a formula one car in Wilcox today.

  3. Just made my first tamales. Delicious

  4. The Yule log competition this evening at JTED culinary arts was great. We bought 5 logs in the auction but only brought two home. They are waiting in the freezer for Christmas eve. The teacher and organizer (my daughter:) and her students are amazing!

  5. From the album: Before and after Photos

73 pounds lost five and a half months after surgery.
  6. I had surgery June 14, 2011. I've lost 73 pounds. I love this sleeve!

    Something To Be Thankful For

I'm most thankful for what I don't have this year that I had last year--I'm down 74 pounds since June 15th and I don't have as much physical pain as I had last year.
  8. Congratulations! I didn't have my sleeve in Mexico but I do visit there often. Everyone I meet is helpful and kind--I've never had a problem.
  9. Enjoyed Halloween with the grandchildren--this morning at school and this evening in the neighborhood.

  10. Tomorrow is my four-month anniversary and while I plan on losing more weight, I'm perfectly happy where I am. I can't believe the change in only 4 months! Here's the thing: My husband and friends are telling me to slow down on the weight loss. I still have 25 pounds to goal, but they are telling me I'm fine where I am. I'm large boned (really) so I don't really know where to be. I do know that my face looks better when I have a little extra weight. I feel great and my BP is now low/normal. Goodness! How do I know where to stop?
  11. Thank you for your kind words. I've decided to lose another 20 pounds (I think). I'll still be just above the BMI charts, but I believe those are flawed anyway. Yes, It had only been 4 months when I posted those pics. I love the sleeve. It has changed my life forever. I

    First time I'm sharing pics

You look great! Congratulations. Your arms look good too. That is where I am having the most saggy skin.

To tell or NOT to tell

I wasn't going to tell but sometimes I was so excited I couldn't hold it in! Other times people figured it out on their own and asked. It's difficult to hide what is going on when you are only eating 2 or less ounces at dinner.
  14. Congratulations on the success you've already had and on your engagement. You can do this. You did it before and you can again. I didn't lose anything last week because I ate carbs all week, but today I had to get back on the train and focus on eating Protein. There's not a person I know who hasn't fallen off for a period of time whether it was one week or one year. The important thing is to get back on and with the sleeve I believe it is easier. Good luck. Keep us posted.
  15. Yes I would have it again and I would encourage others to do so too. I feel healthier than I have in years. I was on a plane yesterday and didn't feel that I was crowding those around me. This morning a waitress asked my husband if he wanted to change places with me because I had more room in a booth and he had the tighter side. The list goes on, but the most important reason is because I feel healthier. I enjoy life more when I feel well.
  16. Well said! Thanks for the advice. I'm short of the BMI charts too and that is where the confusion comes in. I may just ignore the charts.
  17. Today I celebrate 60 lbs gone forever! Yay! I can't believe it's only been three months since I was sleeved.

    Cooking for your Family

It's really strange and probably psychological, but I'm finding I enjoy cooking for other people more than I ever have! I make huge pots of vegetable soup and give much of it away. I have also been freezing berries, meatballs, meatloaves and other foods I prepare. I don't like processed foods anymore (I think this is what has caused my weight gain pre=surgery) so I'm enjoying making my own meals and freezing them.

    2 Month Surviversary next Tuesday

Congratulations! You are doing great! I'm just a few days over two months and have lost a few pounds less than you--49. A horse farm? You are so lucky! I had two mini horses a few years ago, but didn't have room to keep them so gave them away. I still miss them.

    FLYING after surgery

I flew from AZ to Charleston, SC on day 11. I told the stewardess that I needed to get up frequently and she was very supportive. I wore loose clothing and walked down the aisle every 45 min to lessen the risk of blood clots. Please talk to your doctor though and take care of yourself. My doc was fine with my decision.
