  1. If you have chocolate Protein powder, you can mix it with cold milk and then slowly heat it up. That way it won't clump. Worth a try?
  2. I will forgive you 'fore you know not of what you speak. I never knew since I'm OBESE, that I didn't not have the "right" to be offended by the bullying of the newbies. You know nothing of my journey, but you are entitled to your opinion as I am mine. However, I do not believe that you have the right to be hurtful. Prayers going up for---everyone.
  3. One step at a time, or with the WLS process-----one hoop jumped at a time! It's a tangled mess of appointments, but the process will keep you busy until you get your surgery. Get going-----heading for second and hoping to steal third! Prayers going up.
  4. I packed, tooth paste/brush, hair brush, my prettiest nightgown, slippers and robe (I wanted to feel pretty which is not always easy right after surgery) --my favorite perfume so I could smell like "me" and not "hospital". I also took a chapstick, cellphone and charger and my rosary--can't hurt, right? Please post as soon as you feel up to it. We are not only nosy, but we care--really we do. Scooching over on the, "Losers' Bench" to make room for you, my friend. See you on the other side. Prayers going up.
  5. I thought you guys were always having "piss'n " contests, not weight loss contests. Both of you look "maaavelous", Daaalings. Both of you are great examples on how this weight loss "Thing" should and can be done. I'm having rather a "proud momma" moment! (OK, so I'm old) Great Job! You don't need my prayers, but there they go-- straight up!
  6. Now this is going to be one Memorial Day that you will remember for a long, long time. How exciting is looking forward to your "journey"? --at the starting gate.--just waiting for the starting pistol to fire. I wish you well, and will start getting your spot on the "Losers' Bench" ready. Prayers going up for you.
  7. Please, take all the time you two need to get to the same mind set. It is soooo important that you go into WLS as you did your marriage--together. I'm sure he has his fears, just as you have yours. Try to find a way to ease his. If you do, I guarantee you that most of your fears will be lessened. I will repeat my wish that all S.O's should be required to have a therapist eval/session separate from their partners. This way his/her fears, concerns and trepidations could be verbalized and consulted. After WLS, you WILL change. You will NOT be the same in a year post-op. We who have had WLS know that we will be healthier, and better, but do our S.O.s have that conviction? They love you just as you are. Maybe they don't want you to change. It's too scary. Will they still be appealing to you. Will you still be appealing to them?? Sooo many questions. Who's going to hear them? When do our S.O.s get to air their fears, and/or frustrations? So, I ask you, PLEASE have more patience and understanding than you think you have. Have many meaningful conversations. Try, then try, then try some more to help him come to terms with your upcoming WLS. I PROMISE you, you will not regret it, my friend. Prayers going up for you both.
  8. It the protein coffee for a hot or cold beverage?? I might try it. Thank you!
  9. yeah, what he said. ^ This could be a real possibility. Please reach out to a friend, clergy, a confidant . It will help. I promise.
  10. I absolutely love your story!!!!!!!! ---and the suit.!!!!!!!!!! I am a huge Marilyn Monroe fan. (too bad the Kennedys had her murdered-----OMG!---MY OPINION) Thank you for this post. I, for one needed it today. Prayers going up for your continued happiness.
  11. @ Womanvsmirror: Now aren't you glad you posted your harmless and interesting comment about scales????? Prayers going up for us all.
  12. The irony of the misspelling. Bless your heart. Another hurtful ridicule. Feel better now?. Point proven. Prayers going up for you.
  13. How's it going, Friend? Yes, I'm nosy. Yes, I really care. Prayers still going up...
  14. I drink my coffee every day--with the approval of my bariatric team. However, for every cup of coffee I drink, I have to drink an equal amount of Water. Call your "team". Working with them will lead you to the right answers for your program. Best of luck!
  15. I don't know how you knew. Through my tears, I thank you for you words from within my very soul. I don't know how you knew... I needed your words today I am truly humbled.
  16. @ Kindle: Yeah, what you said, my friend.
  17. And she stands out to me as someone who will speak her opinion openly, honestly, and graciously. Not every person is going to like the communication style of everyone else and that's OK. But trust me when I tell you, you will NOT be coddled by @@Babbs . She will give you solid advice every time from the viewpoint of someone who has been there, done that and is successful. I'd much rather hear it from her than someone who has no clue what they are talking about and coddles you along the way. Well then, hear from me. I am 5yrs out (almost longer than both Babbs and Lipsticklady combined), and reading some of these responses---on a "support site" from so called "vets" reminds me of freak'n high school. We have the "freshmen" who are just beginning their journey--unsure, a wee be frightened--looking for any kind of advice or jester to help them feel like they "belong" and welcomed. Then we have the "BULLIES" who seem to take some kind of perverted pleasure in "one upping" every freshman, just to inflate their own egos. Just be humane. Corrective criticism can be given without "wounding". Every question, no matter how many times it has been asked in the past, is a realistic concern to someone just starting their journey. It is not--or should not be our goal to ridicule just for bragging rights for "smoking that one out". None of us are here for another's private amusement or to be the butt end of an ongoing private joke. It hurts, and that is NOT what we are supposed to be doing here. I think some have forgotten that this site is NOT for their own shock entertainment If you can't offer some kind of affirmative advice or just a kind word, then just keep your snarkiness to yourself. The "freshmen" don't need your "private little jabs", and I for one who has "been there, done that, and buried the horse I rode in on" in terms of sleeve surgery am just plain ass tired of it. If you can't improve upon the silence---then don't. Prayers going up---for all of us.
  18. Call the police, make an appointment with them, then you (along with a policeman) go and get your belongings. The police will make an attempt to have "him" be home, but if that can't be arranged, they will go with you alone. Just do it. No drama. No confrontation. Get it done, and move on.
  19. Thank him for his compliment and move along. He's "not ready".
  20. I believe you should start going to as many support groups as you can. Such meetings are invaluable for information gathering. Take time to get to know the other pre-ops. Talk to the post-ops about their journeys. Don't just ask about the weight loss and the how great it is to go shopping. Take enough interest to ask them to share the "rough times". Those experiences are the ones that you NEED to hear about. Hearing about the "bumps" in the road will keep you from being caught off guard. You will learn what to expect and can be "armed" and ready to face it if it happens to you. Often times, at support group meetings there will be a guest speaker such as a plastic surgeon, an exercise coach, a bariatric cook book author, etc. Also, many times Protein shake samples/drinks--other bariatric supplies are given out. Other groups offer clothing exchanges which you will learn to appreciate as you rapidly go from size to size--never staying a one size long enough to wear anything out. I hope I have offered enough examples of the good stuff that going to support group meetings can bring your way. Besides, most programs mandate going to at least two support group meetings before surgery. I am 5 years out and I still go to one monthly. Go . You just may enjoy it.
  21. Soon, Daveo. Just keep your eyes and heart open.
  22. Daveo, Daveo, Dear Daveo, "She" is just waiting for you to come for her. She's only a whisper away. You'll find her. I know it. I promise.
