Boob question
Mine are goiiiiiiing, I was a C cup before gaining then DD now I am in a D and regardless of whether there is a cup left I already don't like the fact they are not looking up at the sky so will have to do something about that cause deflated boobs tend to look wrinkled. Something has got to give I guess! My butt is still going strong it will take awhile I am sure lots of fat to burn off. You look very young so you might not have any issues at all.

8 months out - AND NO RESTRICTION
If there is anything positive that I can contribute to you is that in the long run provided you don't slip back to your old ways and sabotage surgery and all your hard work so far, you skin is probably going to thank you, the slower you lose the more it gives it a chance to adjust just make sure that you are doing what's best for you, I eat in the same little bowl I ate and drank from since coming home, that way I can eye things and control my portions, regardless of the size you are controlling what goes in bottom line. Focus on the weight you've left behind, don't get down on yourself and begin that sickening cycle stay strong believe in the sleeve but most important believe in yourself, I am looking at the clothes I was wearing pre-op! WHAT was I thinking, we are beautiful there is no reason to destroy that beauty, you have support here, stick a pic of yourself at your heaviest on your fridge if you have to NEVER forget. Hugs!

Good morning, I had 2 boiled eggs, my vites, and just finished 20 oz of Crystal Light, I look at my fridge and nothing is appealing-not looking forward to lunch. I will probably have a shake or a sald with tuna, as far as dinner I get sick thinking about it, my tummy is not right today and my muscles are really sore from running yesterday

Before and After Photos
The gallery ought to be more organized, like by amount of weight lost, age, etc that way people can relate more to it right now it feels like it's a gallery full of everything without an index or anything, I myself have looked for pics and feel disappointed, on the other hand there are other forum where the amount of pics are so overwhelming but yet the procedures are all different with a majority being lap band and RNY I don't like that either. Who knows many someone will listen. As organized as the front page is so should the photo gallery be. There are people who need visual motivation and also I tried uploading a video and it would not let me even though it says it's okay. No I did not want to go through youtube just here where I feel comfortable.

Hair/Skin Video
I am always researching the issues that plague us females and especially now since having surgery. I was watching these videos last night and enjoyed them so much I wanted to share them with you, Dr. Neal is amongst the best Dermatologists in the world. It is nice to hear it and to know that "every little thing, is gonna be alright!". If you go directly to his website, you can pick from a "menu" of things according to what you are concerned with and you just might find something there specific for you. Are you experiencing thinning and or hair loss after being sleeved?
I want to ask you not to cry but I know I probably will soon too, I am thinking of making my own extensions when my hair starts to fall I'll start collecting-lol Did you know that Gelatin which is a Protein is absorbed quicker by the hair follicles than other Proteins, I learned this from people in the Dermatology field. Another thing I wan to mention to you is your physician or dermatologist has meds that actually slow down or stop the fall out, I forget what they are called right now but one sleever I know was on them and she said it helped tremendously. I really don't understand why when people have thinning hair and falling out hair they chop what they have left shorter...I would rather do extensions. Let me give you a glimpse of my future so you can feel better, I was was raised in Hawaii and danced the Hula throughout high school so you can imagine the type of hair I had to have well...when I noticed some falling out 3 years back and found out PCOS was the culprit I was so angry at this point I was losing every time I washed it, I started on GNCs woman multi and it slowed down, then the Nioxin and it reaaaally slowed down, so while I still have a lot of hair I know what's coming it will be a nightmare I am sure. If I don't go bald I will certainly come on here to share. Hang in there, have you seen Beyonce without the WEAVE? And she is BEAUTIFUL that's the way I look at it, if I end up with a wig and a hot little body I'll be alright. Keep smiling, stress not good for hair either!

Splenda - What do you know?
Well, it could be the Splenda lab studies have found that sweeteners actually made mice hungrier. Personally, from my experience with sugar free this and sugar free that, I am really careful because it triggers me to want more for some reason not long after eating some. Here is a link to a site I was reading from it is very interesting...I sometimes think caveman would have rather been chewing on a sugar cane stick why do we have all this laboratory produced crap. This is what I try to get in everyday from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed, I hope it helps you. I know people say Biotin doesn't help but I feel much better knowing that I am taking it.

Are you experiencing thinning and or hair loss after being sleeved?
What you described about and the time frame post-op sounds like what is supposed to be happening, I am early out but I am already expecting this to come my way in the future. If you put hair loss in the forum search tab it will pull up lots and lots of hair loss links. It may seem that you are balding but you're not, the girls say on here that the hair comes back, maybe not the same thickness and amount but it returns. Did you take zinc, iron, and biotin? I am though many say it does not help I at least am trying my best. Good luck and congratulations on your weight loss!

Tricare Prime, anyone?
Kassie- Hi! I am excited for you even in the research stage, what the other wives have said is accurate, I've been an Air Force wife for a little over 12 years and at our last duty station where I still had not heard about the sleeve I was looking into the lap band, and THANK GOD did not go through with it but they told me that my primary needed to make a letter to tricare stating I had tried dieting and blah blah and then I would wait for approval and blah blah-point is, the entire thing turned me off. I was so irritated mostly I don't like the third class treatment some physicians have with us because we're just fat wives. I moved and live close enough to a MTF with honestly better docs than I have seen in the civilian sector. Basically I waited, I am still in disbelief that I had a $15,000 procedure but at the same time they probably saved money on all the health problems that were to be. Oh, let me tell you about how I got this thing done from start to finish in less than a month, you can message me if you wanna know.

Adipex After VSG? Tips Please.....
Forgive me, but my mouth dropped when I was reading your post. Your sister is an RN and she said it would be fine for you to go to TJ get medications that mess with your neurotransmitters, cause increase in heart rate, dehydrate you, and on top of all that can affect your mood severely. If she has a Drug reference book laying around ask her to look up side effects. RNs do not prescribe, there is a reason for that, and I hope to God that you see with your own eyes not through mine or anyone else's what you wrote up there make you sound delusional. Take this from someone who has done it all to lose weight, taken it all to lose weight, that if this surgery and therapy are not being the tool you need not even God can come down and strike you thin. Someone who is sipping Margaritas post-op tells me that you don't care. This is the same thing I would tell you if we were friends sitting at Starbucks! Stop the insanity!

Does anyone else need carbs to lose?
That is puzzling, if you energy expenditure has not increased than it is safe to assume that your body functions better with the carbs, I would just be careful when it comes to playing with fire, for some people carbs have been the problem. As far as insulin too much of it would actually cause you to store the carbs you eat as fat he might have to give you medical reference on that one...I had an overproduction of insulin due to PCOs and never heard of that it has always been the complete opposite. If it is working and you are certain it has to do with the carbs then stick with the plan you currently have. Oh! I just read something on obesityhelp(not a member but I read) and it was a doctor telling the pt to avoid low carbing because he did not want her in Ketosis. Well, the only rationale I could think of is he doesn't want her kidneys overworked but the thing about it is I have been brainwashed by Dr. Atkins about Ketosis being good cause that's when you burn fat for fuel. Some days I feel guilty if I have carbs(SERIOUSLY) because I used to follow Atkins on and off and my brain is like BREAD=HELL which is not true you gotta get a healthy kind etc, so now I am thinking having my Melba crackers with my liver pate is probably been a great thing.

What's Cooking BZ!
Frankly speaking, after my VSG I have felt like a celebrity in terms of how I eat, by that I mean I have had to become creative and fresh about how I eat and what I eat and I am finding that some things turn out delicious! This is why I want to share it here with you guys, I was one of those pre-VSGers who was always wonderin: "What the heck are these people eating!" Well hopefully now you can see. Bon Appetit!

One Year Out
I want to commend you for being so giving even after you have reached your paradise, I feel that it is important to give back, you have not forgotten about the hundreds of people who are right there, sitting at their computers eating a box of oreos(as I was) and too scared to ask for help, the ones who are headed to surgery despite no support from loved ones and who are scared and nervous, and those of us who had the operation and are on the journey. Thank You, there is a true ministry in the bariatric surgery community.

December 2010 Sleevers!
Ouch! Linda eating fast does hurt, has happened to me, the worst is chicken...THAT not chewed well=MISERY meats in general do that I have to sit there and treat it as gum:LOL

December 2010 Sleevers!
My stomach growls but I just ignore it, what is most difficult and annoying for me about drink vs eating is that I used to do both together so now...when my instinct kicks in and I want to have a bite of chicken followed by a gulp of lemonade the horrible feeling has kept me traumatized that I don't even try. I am learning to space my eating and drinking, but for me that's like AMAZING because as long as I remember being alive there has been bread and Water at the table. Get lots of crystal light the flavor you most love for me it is lemonade and just keep drinking and filling it all say. I go through 3-20oz bottles per day on Crystal light and wake up thirsty as heck-what's up with that??LOL

December 2010 Sleevers!
Be glad, and I am glad the crying is done with, I was crying a lot before the surgery;) the way I was managing my body was worth many tears. But now I feel like things are looking up and I am glad I found out about the sleeve before I went with the band...not knowing the sleeve existed!! OUCH!

December 2010 Sleevers!
That is so awesome! I too do not have a loving relationship with sugar...something has definitely changed in that respect. You started at the same size I did, I am still wearing my clothes looser but still the same so I do not feel skinny, my goal is to be able to shop in a Large regular then I will calm down, feel a bit more relaxed. But heck the way I look at it is I am doing way better than I ever did and that means a lot. Have you tried buying a bottle of your liking at Walmart and filling it up with lemonade crystal light etc, I drink crystal light all day not my favorite but I drink so much liquids that I wonder if that's what's causing my stall. Who knows...I just have to grab my board and ride this wave! Good luck!

December 2010 Sleevers!
Here is a quick list I looked for when I came home from the hospital to stick on my fridge and help me with the Protein count, I was shocked at the fact that a 3.5oz chicken breast has 30 grams! I hope this can be a tool for you too. High Protein Foods Link

My husband does not support me.
First, here is a virtual hug. Second, what is he supporting? That you remain fat and unhealthy and under his thumb? I mean when are man going to learn that the more they resist the more they lose, I didn't have support in the beginning things turned around but I will leave you with a question since you are the only one who has the answers deep inside. Say you don't go through with this surgery and remain the way you are for the rest of your life, your life exactly the way it is now can you handle that? I couldn't and told my husband that if he didn't come along and support me he was going to find himself in a bachelor pad somewhere, why such a harsh statement well...I am not here to be anyone's puppet, I am entitled to happiness, joy, liberty, and all the rest that comes with being born. You need to stop so much time trying to convince him, and take a stand for your life if the sleeve is what you need to help you. In the end EVEN if he becomes your cheerleader it is still your own personal project when you get home from the hospital it's all on YOU to make this work for you. If he is acting this way out of concern for you then that can be eased but it sounds like the man has deep rooted insecurities and let me tell you after surgery these will not sleep...they will awaken many others YOU MUST BE PREPARED, mentally and spiritually so that you can become the you that you deserve. We are always here for you, this site inspires me daily.
