  4. Snarky, Type "Duodenal Switch" in the FB search.
  5. I had DS revision to the Gastric Sleeve after 4 years and regain. I would not even CONSIDER any other first time surgery than DS, if my BMI and medical clearance qualified me. The record of the DS is clearly superior to any other surgery, and the maintenance is the key to not having to have revision and regain....
  6. I stayed at 900 calories for four years after the sleeve and still regained. I thought i would lose slowly, but I still gained weight. While it would be nice to make the million, once our abused metabolisms shut down, it can stop or gain, and nothing we can do. I am hoping the DS malabsorption will help. If it doesn't I refuse to punish myself...

  10. I don't get the removal of the DS forum. WTF? I am just getting to the point of getting out again on the internet, after my DS on 8/26/14. Was there no announcement or explanation? DS is the ONLY surgery that really works across the board. I wasted 4 years with the Gastric Sleeve and SO many people are headed the same direction. Everyone knows the pendulum is swinging away from VSG and RNY, as both become a very low calorie diet for life!
  11. WLS, OA and my Higher Power... Ain't nobody's business but my own. The fact that so many WLSers don't avail themselves of the 12 Steps, and vice versa, is their business. I can't imagine not having both to even have a chance at stopping the weight gain that was killing me.
  12. Having reviewed them all, I am going with Vitalady.com. I have seen so many passionate DS committed to the program.... Many of them several years out...
  13. Can you get Ungson to work with him? He used to do surgeries with Aceves, when requested, for a nominal fee.
  14. I'm not sure the picture of fudge is big enough!!!! lol

  17. Well the truth is that every sleeve stretches. It would not be possible to eat enough to get nutrition after the DS, the second part of the operation, for which VSG was originally assigned. For some not a problem, for others re-sleeve or revision is an increasing reality.
  18. I have regained 50 lbs over four years. since Jul 28, 2010, have been on 1100 calories and exercise. Never added starches, carby foods.... My metabolism is shot, and cannot lose weight. I am seeing surgeon about Sleeve Revision to RNY or DS.
  19. Isn't there a well established support group in Augusta? Anyone there interested? If you had surgery in Augusta please rely to the Augusta Regional Bariatric Pal thread.
  20. Live in Gwinnett, central for North GA, would love to have a veterans'/ regain/ revision group, for folks > 1 year out. What a great support it would be! Anybody else?
  21. Live in Gwinnett. Prepping for revision of VSG to RNY or DS. Meeting with surgeon to discuss next week.
  22. Actually there are some situations where weight loss is impossible, particularly when taking meds that add weight, or resist wt loss....
  23. Many have problems initially, but due to so many different reasons. I had no problems with my seroquel and Paxil, but In maintenance, I immediately started regain, due to the Seroquel XR. Meet with your PsyDoc and talk to a master's level pharmacist who has experience in this department...
