  1. Mmm, duck ... I am proud to say that the last time I posted here, 2 months ago, I wasn't exercising and I wanted to do compount lifts and now I am! In fact, I am so in the zone that even though we lost power in the gym and it was negative 13 degrees and we had to work by flashlight, I still got in a workout!!
  2. Whatever may be the outcome, I want to be as ready as possible, so my footlocker is packed with everything that I want to keep and I will mail it to my PO box on monday. I have cleaned up my work station, organized all files hard and digital, and am packing up all of my Army stuff in the duffels. If I successfully medevac I will leave my room in ready condition, with the military stuff ready for shipment and I will take 2 backpacks with me, one full of paperwork and meds the other full of necessities. As for the hawt soldier, something wonderful has come out of it that has nothing to do with boo-tay. He has turned out to be a genuine friend and support and sat up with me for 3 hours last night, letting me weep in his arms while he prayed for me. I told him everything, just utterly unburdened myself and he shouldered the load, it was incredible and although he was presented to me in the strangest of ways, he is in my life for a reason and I feel blessed to have someone who has my back. I won't know how all the other stuff will play out until Monday, I will be able to take the temperature then, if it goes one way, I will try to medevac asap, if it goes another way then I will stay until beginning of Feb before trying to medevac. In fitness and nutrition news, my new buddy is a Xfit trainer back home and is doing 1on1 sessions with me, after just one session I broke through the weight barrier I have held since I started Insanity 6 weeks prior! So forget Insanity, I'm doing this.
  3. Thank you for that information, I am aware of it and it is not as simple as calories in, calories out. If that were the case, then the 4 weeks I spent faithfully eating 650 calories a day while putting in an hour of highest intensity interval training every single day, would have yielded me something.
  4. My new Xfit lifting buddy and I are doing it again tonight, took yesterday off, he said we would work our way up to daily. The birthing machine left my legs so sore they don't even feel sore - they feel bruised, they are tender to the touch! It's going to be brutal tonight but I am really looking forward to it. All I've had to eat today though is a 3 ounce piece of prime rib and it just feels stuck.
  5. And what about for women? It is a complete and utterly different ball game for fat loss for women. I did Insanity workout 5x a week for 6 weeks and ate 1200 cals a day of very very clean low carb eating, and didn't lose a single ounce.
  6. Dang, I can't believe that only 2 people noticed my naughty little post about whoopin it up with a young hawt soldier!! Laura - where arrrre you? Maybe it's a generational thing, I think I am one of the younger folks in this group, but I don't go in for that business of "I know he loves me, he just never shows it/puts me down/treats me like I'm the help/ is nicer to everyone else ..... but I know he loves me" NO. WAY. It's just passive abuse. Substitute in the word "hit" for each of those things and you will suddenly see. "I know he loves me but he punches me every time I orgasm ... I must just have a low sex drive....." :/ Today is the one year anniversary of my Father's death and some truly horrible awful things have happened at work that would be horrible any time but I especially do not want it today. Long story short, my program is looking for a scapegoat, they don't need reasons, they will make them up if they have to, but there is an uproar over how my team leader's family was notified, they think the family found out via facebook prior to the official word from the DoD. Now, I had put some sorrowful words up, but I am not friends with anyone that I work with, nor anyone from his family, and I took the stuff down right away. I sent his eldest daughter a letter of condolence on the day that the DoD made it official. But I am scared and freaked out and upset and all of this today? And I'm ready to throw in the towel. I went to the combat therapist today and told him to get the ball rolling on sending me to Germany for a medivac, I have spent the day cleaning up my workspace, going through paperwork, shredding, organizing, and tonight I am going to haul out my footlocker and start packing everything that is mine that I will want to go home. Whatever happens, I want to be as ready as possible. I am sad, lost, scared, scared, scared, terrified, sad, lonely, angry, and more.
  7. CGJ I gave up on herroom for shapewear, as they never have the industrial strength stuff I require, love to get my bras there though, they sell British brands that you can't get in the States and for some reason the Brits know their bras.
  8. Day 1 of the new regime was yesterday - I got in the thigh press thingie - where you are semi-recumbent and put your feet on the platform in a giving birth position and push away... I did 145 lbs! several sets, finishing on a till-muscle-failure set, of which I did 25!!!!! barbell squats, lunges holding a round weight, bench presses, a pec machine, free squats, the birthing machine and stretches. I felt more during and now after that one workout then I have in the 5 weeks of Insanity.
  9. Yeah Butter, that's my point, I'm switching out Insanity for WODs with my buddy.
  10. Let it go forth from this time and place, I am officially changing my January Fitness Challenge goals: I finally woke up and smelled the coffee - Insanity has given me nothing except an increase in stamina. No reward on the scale, in my strength, in my # of reps, in my clothes, nothing to show for it except a jacked up foot. Well, tonight I did a compound lifting rotation with a crossfit trainer buddy of mine and it rocked! I could genuinely feel my muscles working, I genuinely felt like I was getting $h!t done. So, from now on, it will be compound lifting every other day, not insanity.
  11. Soooo delicious ... I'd rather feast on his lips than eat food! Just the act of human touch, touching someone else, being touched, being held - god I needed it. And he's SO STRONG, heh heh , woo is it hot in here, I'm getting the vaypahs! I never thought I cared about a man's physique but, at one point I was straddling him and we were kissing, and he put his forearms under my thighs and flipped me onto my back on the chair I was sitting in, like it weren't no thang! Just hoist! He has a girlfriend back home and claims they have an "understanding" due to deployment, and I'm not interested in anything real, he is WAY too frickin' young OMG, but this, this feels so very good
  12. Yep what Brown said. I also rely on watercolor painting to relieve pain/tension/fear/anxiety all the things. However, as of today, I found a NEW WAY TO PLAY, heh heh heh ..... in the form of a delicious Specialist with a Crossfit body... mm mm mm... don't want to make anyone's eyebrows go up in flames but it was HAWTTTTTTT. But, like with anyone who has gone without for so long, I'm like a hysterical junkyard dog, ready to pounce and hump . Also, Tomorrow is Larry's funeral, AND the one year anniversary of my Father's death, I get hypersexual when I am in an intense state of anxiety or fear or sorrow.
  13. My goal this month was to do Insanity at least 20x but with a foot injury that might not happen, I've now missed 2 days because of this plantar/torn arch whatever is going on, but tonight Iam going to lift weights with a friend who is a trainer.
  14. Susie, I offer some warning advice on following the "if I get plastics I will feel better" trail, it's a particularly dark rabbit hole, just ask CowgirlJane, who has discovered an entirely new continent of issues to deal with now that she has had plastics. She will be the first to tell you that, as it turns out, plastics do not necessarily heal the grooves we've worn from years of mental "cutting".
  15. Oh GMB, it's a long story of what has been up with me ... I was taking melatonin and diphenhydramine (Benadryl) when this vomiting occurred.
  16. I have had terrible hip pain since I was a teenager, my favorite hip opener in Xfit is to take the huge rubber band, loop it around a pole then step into it. bring the band up high, deep inside the hip crease then stand as far away as you can, pulling the tension as taut as possible, the lean forward so that the band is supporting all of your weight, driving into the socket. Hurts like a mutha, but nothing else opens my hip up like that. Sounds like your hip and my left foot are in cahoots, this is just what happened to my foot this week. I have no idea if it is plantar f. or a torn arch or what. I'm currently rolling it out on a tennis ball. As for you and icing, you are only supposed to do ice/heat in the first 24 hours, after that you can damage yourself.
  17. I've never parsed my calories, I just count em all. Fiddle - I definitely know about the GNC-style mark ups, it is MUCH better to go via amazon and when I am in the States again, I will go one further and get mass quantities from costco
  18. Also, Gmanbat, where ya been hombre??
  19. Yes! I have this too, I thought it might have to do with a sleep aid I was taking, after some awful trial and error I learned that once I took the aid, there could be nothing by mouth, not even Water, unless I wanted to wake up vomiting in the middle of the night.
  20. I haven't eaten yet, plus I had a great BM, so how is it POSSIBLE to weigh over half a pound MORE than I did when I woke up 3 hours ago?!!! mutha effa
  21. fatnomo and daisy - I am a GNC gold card member which helps A LOT on costs since I buy so much dang protein powder ... anyway, when I was getting ready for this deployment I went to my local GNC and bought like, a gross, of Quest and got a tremendous discount so I recommend buying in bulk!
  22. found a website, classicshapewear.com they have every conceivable kind, woot!
  23. Oh Susie, you have kicked the hornet's nest lololol! Not in a bad way, but this right here is the meat and potatoes (no pun intended!) of psych issues we sleever have. I have yet to meet the sleever who didn't have a "surgeon's goal/ my goal" pair of numbers, with the surgeon's being at least 10 lbs more! Feed Your Eye is correct - you can't have it all and really, those numbers on your pants are just a big constructed lie anyway -go to Nieman Marcus, then go to Wal-Mart, then try on something from the 50's, then try on a european size. The numbers, much like the diamond market, are a construct. I have no idea what your exercise regimen is but you might consider strength goals, there really is a popular movement out there nowadays called "Strong is the New Skinny". Set a goal of being able to do 10 pull ups, or running a 10 minute mile, start training for a tough mudder or a marathon ... As for your plastics, like another poster, I don't know how tall you are or your body comp but I know that for myself, I am 5'3" and 169 lbs, I am 40 lbs away from goal but when I scrutinize my flesh, I can see that with plastics I would easily lose about 15 pounds of skin and tissue, so really I am only 25 lbs away from goal. And yep that goal is my goal - surgeon's goal? 20 lbs heavier! lololol
  24. If it is a fracture then I will be sent home, and I've only got 2 months left. For now I am ace bandaging the arch and doing floor work in Insanity. One thing I learned from Pilates is that you actually don't have to move insanely to achieve intense muscle work.
  25. Yes the hymn, if I could have thrown a New Orleans second line for Larry, I would have.
