  1. I'm 3 weeks out and still have water weight and swelling. So, I don't know your particular situation but I know we all lose at different rates. Also, I have heard of many folks hitting a 3 week stall. Wish I had something to offer as advice. Just hang in there and do what you know is right and it will kick in soon.
  2. I haven't been, but my understanding is that they meet you at the airport and escort you to the resort. I'm sure someone will fill you in, but from all I have heard, I wouldn't be concerned.
  3. Everyone felt scared and excited at the same time, it's nuts. LOL you'll do fine, just remember to sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk. Best of luck and keep us posted.
  4. There's part of the problem, her husband complimenting you. LOL I bet she couldn't wait to find reason to tear into you. Also, I'm with you...that "oh but you have a nice face" crap is so demeaning. You know in my opinion people wouldn't butt into your life so much if they weren't so lacking in self-confidence in the first place. Insecure people always try to find fault with others. Don't defend yourself or your choices. Like mini said, if she keeps going, politely excuse yourself. Hang in there, we're with you.
  5. Woo Hoo! Gratz on getting to Onederland. It's great to hear the your happiness is showing to others too. How wonderful for you. Best of luck as you keep dropping the pounds.
  6. My dr said the same thing. At about 2 weeks out, adhesions (scar tissue) has formed to the point that you can feel it "pull" sometimes when you move your body certain ways.
  7. Well, I haven't lost enough to see a difference in the girls but I won't mind losing some there. Like pcindy said, I won't miss the back ache or strap pain. I too am looking forward to shopping for sexy bras.
  8. I guess it varies from doctor to doctor. But, mine said not to take capsules. Check with your own dr and see what advice you get.
  9. Gratz Will. I'm glad you are doing well, and hope that darn gas lets up soon. Walking is the best thing you can do, just remember to sip, sip, sip. Take care, and best of luck. Keep us posted.
  10. Woo Hoo! That is sooooo cool! I am thrilled for you. Very cool for you to see proof even though the scale isn't moving, that will let you trust in the fact that you are doing things right and not to become to dependent on that dang scale. Best of luck on your continued success. you're doing great!
  11. Anything that comes in a capsule, has to be opened and you take it like that. I just put it as far back on my tongue as possible and then wash it down. Any other pills can be crushed. The exception to crushing pills, is if any of them are "CR", controlled release. CR pills can't be crushed, but it's possible that the dr can switch you to the regular version. Before my surgery, I even got Tylenol and Benadryl in liquid form so I would have them on hand if needed.
  12. I'm sorry for the set back, but the dr is right that you need to be in tip top shape for the surgery. One thing that can help is doing deep breathing exercises everyday. Best of luck.
  13. Sounds like you pretty much have it covered. I drank lots of Crystal Lite when I first got home because for some reason it seemed to go down easier for me than plain water. Don't know why, but it did. I use a Magic Bullet instead of a blender for my protein shakes, it does add more air but they mix better. I just let them sit for the air to go out. Also, the Magic Bullet is great for the "mushy" phase, it helps get all the lumps and bumps out of your mushy foods. Best of luck.
  14. Aww Katt, LOL. Thanks sweetie.
  15. That is so cool. Gratz! You are doing so great!
  16. Posts like that give us all hope. Thanks for that. You have such a positive outlook and just sound so happy. I am very happy for you. Your continued success is already written in the stars. Best of luck to you.
  17. I had to do a week of liquids pre-op. But, as Sparkle said it varies from doctor to doctor. I agree, cutting back on carbs is a good place to start. One of the main things I read over and over before my surgery, was to cut back on your portion sizes now to help you later. Also taking smaller bites and chewing more thoroughly. This helps prevent you from getting that "stuck" feeling from eating too fast after surgery. Best of luck.
  18. That is so funny, I hardly ever watch TV, but the first few days home, I watched the food channel non stop. What's up with that? LOL Truly, I think enough time on liquids could make anyone obsess about food. Full liquids will help. Glad you're home. Best wishes on your continued recovery.
  19. Oh, some of those recipes look really good. Thanks.
  20. I was originally going to get the band. But, when I found out how many ppl with the band ended up getting revisions due to complications, I said forget that. The sleeve made perfect sense and the number of success stories is mind boggling. On another note, I am a firm believer that if it's your time to go, then it's your time to go. It doesn't matter if you are on an operating table or taking a nap. But that's just my opinion. Best of luck on the journey, keep us posted.
  21. Welcome Marsha. Gratz on starting your journey. Best of luck to you. Keep us posted.
  22. Sounds like you are doing really well. I'm happy for you. As far as being figity...I'm not sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if all the drugs in your system could do that. It takes a while for them to get flushed out. Best of luck with your recovery.
  23. I had a lot of bloating, swelling and water weight after surgery. I am 3 weeks post op and the worst of it is gone, but I'm still waiting for the rest to go away.
  24. Thanks for the encouragement everyone and I really mean it. Tiff, you hit it right on the head when you mentioned that fear of "never feeling normal". I'm sure you are all right and things will change soon. I hate being a whiner but, I guess things just got to me today. Thanks again. Hugs, Maddie
  25. Thanks Crissy and Mini, I'll do my best to keep my chin up.
