Who was sleeved on 12-29-09?

Egg Drop Soup
I bought everything to make this soup but my little town does not have soft tofu...only firm and extra firm. Should I use that or wait until I go to another town that has the soft?

Cream of Broccoli Soup
I have eaten this week on full liquids but I think you should not put in as much broccoli. I can not even finish 1/2 cup.

Really Great Moment
I know exactly what you mean. I started full liq today too. I had 1/2 cup of brocolli soup and could not eat it all. I was stunned! Now I know why it is so hard to get in proteins...you just can not eat enough. That broccoli soup has a little over 7 g and I could only get in 1/2 cup for the whole day. WOW. I am finishing my protein water to try to get in 5 more grams before I go to bed. My post op is supposed to be Thurs but I may have to postpone it. Congratulations!

Cream of Broccoli Soup
This soup is really good and should be pretty good for Proteins. I think it has about 7.10 proteins p/cup the way I made it tonight. 6 Tablespoons of butter or marg 1 Tablespoon finely chopped onion 5 Tablespoons flour 1 cup chicken broth (I used the whole can of undiluted) 2 cups milk (I use skim) 3/4 teaspoon salt Dash pepper 1 package (10 oz) frozen chopped broccoli, thawed (If I do not have chopped, I have used florets. It will chop up in the blender. I just used the whole bag even if it is more than 10 ozs.) Heat butter and onion for 1 1/2 - 2 min on high in the microwave. Blend in flour. Gradually add broth, milk, salt and pepper. Heat 7-9 min on medium or until soup is slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. Add broccoli and puree in food processor or blender. Return to bowl and heat 3-4 minutes, stirring once.

If you are checking back in to this forum, I am about to post an easy cream of broccoli soup that I think we can eat tomorrow. It is easy to make and pretty high in proteins. It will be under the recipe sharing.

full liquids
I get to start full liquids tomorrow so I am really trying to find a way to start getting in my protein. I bought an organic greek yogurt that has 22 grams of protein p cup BUT...I don;t love it. I took a tiny taste. Do any of you have a suggestion as to what I might mix with it to help the taste?

Problem with Protein
I posted this yesterday somewhere so you may have seen it. I found a protein water mix by Kelloggs that I like. It only has 5 gms of Protein but it tastes good. I just felt like as long as I need to be drinking water anyway a few grams would be good. I bought the Strawberry kiwi and I like it.

Problem here...I can't burp and it's causing me problems
Pepcid ac complete chewables help me a lot. Plus you can crush them easily and mix w a tiny bit of water or suck on them to get them down. I know how you feel. I am having the same problem everytime i sip. But,,,,I can burp. I have been assured by someone else on this forum that the gas does get better. Maybe you could try taking something for the gas before you drink.

Do I really look "sick"?
No Way Tiff. Not only do you look great but you are a great source of info and encouragement on this forum. I just looked at all of your pictures yesterday and I was so impressed. You truely look wonderful and happy. I believe your family just worries as we tend to do about those we love.

I wonder why some surgeons do multi leak tests and others don't...
Dr Webb told my husband that he did 2 leak tests in the OR under pressure. I also had one the next morning and omg, That stuff I had to drink was horrible. I actually threw up. Of course I was apologizing but my gag reflex is very sensitive. The day aftger surg I did not want anything at all, much less something that tasted awful. Good news though.... NO LEAK!

Protein
I am wondering about protein. I really have not worried about it too much this week because my main goal has been to stay hydrated. I thought I might be able to do this more next week when I move to full liquids. What are you other folks doing that are still in your clear liquids week?

Drinking and Eating at the SAME time?
I was told that too. I really dont thing anyone should drink w meals. I think it will fill us up faster and there is something about the digestion process that get interrupted. I know that digestion starts in the mouth and we are supposed to take small bites and chew until it is almost a liquid. Of course that will help us to eat more slowly...which has been a major problem for me.

Half-Ton Mom!!?!!
I do understand! I just had this done Tues and I was so afraid....mostly wondering if I was making the right decision. I sounded like a whiney tail! Fears are normal. As far as the "what if" we need to always be ready to go in case we go Home. One of my goals for this year is to try to live closer to Jesus than I ever have. That said, you are not in nearly the shape that lady was in. It is a shame she had to wait sooo long to fine someone to help her. I have seen that and it is sad. Iam just 4 days out now and though I am a little tired today, I am doing soooo good. I have been to see my daughter, gone to lowes and Wal greens and cooked chile for the family. It is really amazing....oh yes and I have lost 11 pounds since Tues.
