My Last Supper... And Emotions...
My last supper was a big salad lol :lol0: I've felt left out a couple times when people are pigging out, but for the most part, I don't feel deprived at all, because I can eat anything that anyone else can, just in small quantities. :lol0: And your B12 will never be too high, that's just weird that she said that. Your body discards any b12 Vitamins that it doesn't need. That's why it doesn't hurt to supplement just in case.

My surgery experience! Love my sleeve!!!!
Sounds a lot like my experience only I suffered with pain for FOUR YEARS before I got my revision. I still experience pain since my port is still in. Mine is between my breasts and down and inch or so. They tried for 2 hrs to get it out. :lol0: And I had a LOT of pain there so I know they tried hard. They couldn't tell if it was encased in fat or stuck to my stomach or some adhesions or something but they're gonna look at it again after I lose a lot of weight. I had the lapband since Sept 04 and I've been in TONS of pain since November 05. They believe my body was rejecting and attacking the band and port and the fact they couldn't get the port out.. I'm still in excruciating pain.. it really has ruined my life. I have a masters and can't even work. Can't function without painpills.. :lol0: The lapband really did ruin my life. I feel like the sleeve is saving my life. 14 weeks out and 68lbs down. Can eat plenty, drink lots, and have NEVER PUKED. I feel like I've been saved. I'm sorry if I offend any lapbanders. Maybe it worked for you, but all it did was ruin my life. CONGRATS HON!!! Glad you feel better :lol0:

ANY regrets getting the Vertical Sleeve?
I honestly don't know the exact size. Before the surgery the surgeon said my tummy will hold 350 ml. That's what 10 oz? Surely he meant eventually it holds that much. Then I asked his nurse a month after surgery and she said she's not sure, it's not written on the surgical report, but that she *thinks* he uses a 46 (because all his sleeves end up being switches after the first year and you need to be able to eat enough if you need to stop the weightloss). But I intend to show him that I do not need that part. :lol0: I love my sleeve! Yes, I drink 64-90 ozs a day and eat 4 or 5 times a day in small portions. Anywhere from 700-1000 calories. One day a month ago I actually did 1200, but I was nausiated and eating a lot of crackers that day!!! I showed a 6lb loss the next day. I think my body really needed those few extra calories.

How much weight did you lose?
Yup! My clothes are just falling off. Even the few new ones I have to get to tide me along! If you get in a stall, do not worry! You are still losing weight, your body just hasn't decided if it will release it or not. Upping your calories and drinking a ton of water makes a huge difference!

Tell me the truth.
I had fish, salad, and protein shakes. I did not cheat. Someone I know followed the diet perfect except for one mishap - eating bacon, eggs, and biscuits a couple days before surgery. Her liver cracked during surgery and she was out of work for 8 weeks recovering!

To Revisioners: Updates on Progress Please...
I'm 14 weeks out from lapband to sleeve conversion and down 68lbs!!! I couldn't be happier!! No complications, except that they couldn't get the port out because the lapband sucks. :scared0: (Sorry to lapbanders, but the lapband ruined my life.)

How much weight did you lose?
Just an update. 68lbs down in 14 weeks!!! Things are going great! This sleeve was just the push I needed. I'm drinking tons of water, eating well balanced meals, exercising, and telling myself I'm worth this and I love myself and I need to be lean and strong to survive. I'm trying to change my programming, and it's working!!! I <3 my sleeve!

ANY regrets getting the Vertical Sleeve?
14 weeks out and 68 lbs down. I have ZERO regrets. My surgeon makes the sleeve a bit bigger than most, so I can eat a bit more than most people. When someone doesn't know I've had the sleeve, they just think I'm dieting or I just don't eat much. I eat like a 5 year old. I never get the slimes, throw up, or feel sick. In the beginning I had some acid reflux but that's gone down to maybe twice in the last month and that was just cause I took a nap too close to eating. Some examples of what I've eaten for my last few meals: Half a BLT sandwhich An egg and a bite of a biscuit Half a piece of fish and a couple bites of Pasta. Half a piece of chicken and a couple bites of spinach. Half an english muffin with egg, cheese, pesto, spinach leaves. I eat salad with crab meat, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, carrots, cabbage a lot. I just can't eat a lot. I *never* clean my plate. Ever. Even tho I eat off small saucers. I don't regret it for a second. It was the small push I needed. Positive energy, telling myself that I love me, that I need to be strong and lean for survival, that I'm worth it, exercising, stretching, drinking lots of Water, and having a smaller tummy has made a lot of difference in my life. I do still get hungry but it's just a tired feeling or a feeling of emptyness rather than that gnawing feeling of hunger that used to be there all the time. 68 lbs in just over 3 months. Finally my prayers have been answered!

How much weight did you lose?
Just to update I'm down to 291 now! I can barely believe it, but as the acid reflux started clearing up and I was able to eat more, the pounds just started MELTING OFF the last 2 weeks!!! I've lost 15 lbs in the last 2 weeks!! LOL!!! That's 54 lbs in 3 months. *dances*

I went on vacation after I posted this. I haven't had access to a scale cause my mother doesn't allow one in this house. Jumped on one at walmart and I'm down to 306 =) Happy to see the scale moving again! And yes.. my clothes are falling off of me.. luckily I have a lot in smaller sizes too!! Thanks everyone!!!

How much weight did you lose?
Hey guys. I'm a bit bummed because I feel like I'm working so hard. Like this is a full time job. However, I've only lost 30lbs in 8 weeks, and 7 was the few days before surgery and 18 of those was in the first 2 weeks. That means in 7 weeks I've only lost 5 lbs. It's so frustrating. My average is about 700-800 cals a day, 80g Protein, and exercise cardio/weights about 4 or 5 hours a week. I also bike/walk for grocery shopping and fun. I weigh 310! For as hard as I'm working, I feel like the weight should be melting off. I know stalls happen, but this is ridiculous. I'm working so hard!! How much weight had you lost at 8 weeks? What am I doing wrong?

No it's a crunchy snack too. Most people get it at Costco. Great to sprinkle on cottage cheese.

Does anyone remember when they were cleared for baths?
I took showers in the hospital. It's fine to shower, just not to submerge in a bath/pool until 2-3 weeks out.

Whatcha' Eating?
The other scales are more accurate. Home scales are not calibrated as well as drs office/gym scales.

I've heard people mention getting them at Trader Joes and Costco.

Question to people that have lost a lot of weight
It happens to most people over about 35 or 40 because fat fills out the wrinkles in your face and when that fat is gone, the wrinkles are visable.

Help!! What is wrong with me??? Eating w/in days of post-op
I literally have tears in my eyes right now and I'm so scared for you. People on this board don't jump on people for their bad food choices. But eating that stuff after just a few days out is so scary, people are really worried about you. I'm REALLY worried because you haven't posted again in this thread. If you're not ready for this surgery that's fine... you can go back to eating that stuff, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE wait a few weeks until you're healed. The wrong choices in the first couple weeks can kill you :confused1:

I've Lost All Desire to Eat!! Please help!
I usually don't have much trouble eating, but a few times a week, I'll cook something and the smell will be repulsive. Just made a pot of cream of chicken Soup (2c soy milk, 2c chicken stock, chicken breast, clove of garlic, diced onion, gouda cheese, sea salt, fresh ground black pepper, 2 tbsp flour) and it was amazing until I poured a cup and brought it up to my lips. Eww. Some days I should be sipping from a sippy cup so my nose won't derail my Protein attempts. Wanna know my trick for days when I can't stand the thought of eating and everything makes me feel sick? Pork rinds. The kind I get are 33g of protein for only 250 cals. It's a real lifesaver.. crunchy and light and go down really easy.

Food issues, now in reverse.
Someone told me this and I thought it was so weird, but I tried it and it was good... have a teaspoon of warmed up spaghetti sauce for every tablespoon of cool cottage cheese.. the combination together is lovely. I thought it sounded strange, but it was VERY VERY good!
