unflavored or chicken soup flavored protein?
I have some of the unjury chicken Soup Protein and I really like it. I have the tub, and I still have some left. I actually will drink some from time to time because I want it. It definitely is best though to go through the samples first and try it after surgery. What you like or tolerate now most likely will change post-op.

Awww LOL Well from my dealings with Alex he's not what his picture portrays. He's a cool, cheerful guy!

Negative WLS peers
I couldn't agree more! What an excellent opportunity to show that your surgery will be a success, because you will follow the rules. I do believe we are on certain paths for a reason, knowing this there is likely a reason why this situation was posed to you. Make it a positive outcome. Blessings and well wishes on your surgery.

!!! MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT !!!
Hehee you all know how to party!!! I haven't weighed myself in about 5 days now. I'm glad because I think I needed a break, it was becoming way too insane. I always said that if it started to become an issue and would affect my daily self I would stop. So... I'm stopping. I absolutely know I'm losing inches big time right now because my 14's all of a sudden are baggy on me. It wasn't but a month ago they were fitting good and even snug. My plan was to get back on Wednesday but we'll see. Maybe I'll wait until Friday... maybe longer. In the mean time I'll just continue to rock my plan. Blessings to all!!!

had the sweats, dizziness and almost passed out!
Never take anything so lightly, please check in with your surgeon. A simple call is all is necessary and I'm sure if they feel it's best for you to go to the hospital they will let you know. Otherwise you just underwent very major surgery, and in time you will adjust and begin to feel better every day. You have to take it easy as well. Get plenty of rest, it could be you're pushing yourself too much - if you are you need to take a step back. Wishing you well!!

Introducing Jess... just Jess!
It could be that you were given a slightly larger stomach than some others. Maybe you can ask your surgeon and express your concerns. I have heard a lot of ranges of capacity, so your 4 oz doesn't sound too bad. Good idea on just sticking with the 4 oz. Very likely you will feel more restriction once you start getting into solids.

Jogged in public
!!!!!COOPS!!!!!! Awesome!!!! I'm soooo proud of you!!! :D :D Isn't it just the best feeling? Like as the cars go by you say to yourself with a swagger "ya y'all look what I can do!! Haha, betcha can't do it... " Keep up your spirit - it's such an admirable thing.

2 years ago today
Hey Miss D, CONGRATULATIONS!!! You're doing sooo great!! I'm so proud of all you have accomplished. You know that you had a huge part in my decision to remove my band and revise to the sleeve. Hugs to you for that, I'll always have a debt of gratitude to owe to you. I'm also one that won't let that 20 Lbs creep back up on me. Once I hit goal I will never ignore the scale, I think that is the first step in losing control. !!!HUGSSSS!!! :D :D

One year anniversary with photos
Swiftflow, HAPPY SLEEVERSARY!!! Congratulations on all your success!! You're content and that is the best thing about this decision all of us have made - especially those of us who had to pay for it out of pocket. I certainly don't regret my decision at all, and if I can lose 120 Lbs by my sleeversary I'll have blown past my goal. THANK YOU for the encouragement and hope!!! Side note since you mentioned ensuring you're keeping up with your Protein... I seen on the news where some fitness guru said it's good to start your day with 30g within 30 minutes of waking up. I'm trying that this morning and I can already feel it's working. I'm always a bit sluggish upon first waking up, but I'm feeling more energetic!

Happy Dance!!!

Pressed my luck and got hit with a whammy!
Oh yes, fortunately I've only gone through this one time. It will never happen again as long as I'm able to help it. It does sneak up on you quick... so once you get that "Uh Oh, I think I'm full" you better stop. It is so ingrained our brains to keep going, if anyone knows this it's me. Why I needed the sleeve... it will smack you into next Tuesday if you don't watch it. Quite literally it is BY FAR the worst feeling of nausea you can ever imagine... lots of slimy saliva... retching... feeling of wanting to pass out (faint)... heart beating out of your throat... IT'S JUST AWFUL!!!! So, this is what it takes for me to stay in a nice small portion? Gah! Oh well, I'm smaller than I have been since being a teeny bopper so I'll take it any day!

I am gaining weight????
You are on your 3rd week stall. I'd say about 90% of us endure this... you are one of the lucky ones. It would be wise for you to hide your scale for the next few weeks - keep yourself from the negative feelings that come with it. Hang in there, this is a long journey and you have only just begun.

4 pounds per week lost for 4 months now
Whooottt!! Congrats you are super successful so far!!!

Just Joining-So Many Questions!!!
This is where YOU come in. If you were about to go through with a Sleeve Gastrectomy again, what things do you wish that someone would have told you? I definitely wished someone would have told me the fatigue I felt for the first two months. I felt like I was in a cloud of funk. No kidding. I'm usually very vibrant and full of energy so this was really strange for me, and I hated it. It felt like that cloud would never lift!!! I also wish someone would have told me that once it lifts I would feel better than I have ever felt in my life!!! Because now I'm doing things I have never been able to do before. Remember this when you are post op. Of course not *everyone* goes through this, but if you are one of them - keep in mind it is only temporary and once it's over you won't regret having this done. Is the fear and pain of the surgery far outweighed by the fabulous new you that you found AFTER surgery? Absolutely yes. This surgery quite literally saved my life. I'm healthier now than I have ever been!! I had high blood pressure, glucose issues (almost pre-diabetic) and was just starting to get cholesterol issues. Now they are but a distant memory! What things do you wish you would have known to ask someone before the surgery? I did ask a ton of questions and tried to prepare myself as much as possible. I think you're doing right by asking anything that comes to mind. Keep asking away! Keep reading as much as possible too. I encourage you to see all viewpoints, and even check out the complications threads. You will not want to go into this blindly, this is a very major surgery and will want to stay safe and know about complication symptoms. All the very best to you in your journey!!

Not going to be a habbit but when can I have some Pizza?
Thats the thing with this surgery and weighing daily. I got caught up in that for the last few months but I had to stop. Our bodies will fluctuate up and down due to Water and nothing else. I'm going back to weekly weigh ins and if I'm still not happy I might just go to monthly. Especially as I edge nearer to my goal it's much more prevalent.

Not going to be a habbit but when can I have some Pizza?
I had my first few bites (1/2 slice) at about 3 months out. Gonna be honest I didn't really even like it. All the grease in it gave me the worst stomach ache I felt miserable. I haven't had pizza since and tho once in a blue moon I'll think about it - but that's the extent of it. This pretty much goes for all over fat/greasy food. I'm not into it anymore. I'll get something very rarely just because my mind wants it but once I have it my stomach is like... YUCK!!! No Way!!! Good luck!

4th of July - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???
@Becca - oh it will! Good luck.

Has anyone tried Slim Fast Low Carb Shakes
Agreed, I'm one of the few who actually enjoy Protein Shakes and have liked the whole shakes for weight loss for years even before my band. I've always loved Slim Fast and if I hadn't had one in awhile I'd buy them because I missed them. Crazy, I know!! Let me know how you like the Syntrax, I want to get some samples of that too. Also, great idea on the poll... who's up for a little debate? LOL (of all the things to debate about!!)
