4th of July - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???
That's right Bugwitch 6 weeks to go!!! I think this is definitely the place to hold each other accountable. Let us know how your slim in 6 is going! I think my personal plan works really good, so I really don't want to change it up - but I hope you can find someone to do it with you. Candace, looking good there missy!!! Dawn, I seriously think I might change my goal too. My losses are really slowing down a lot. The think is I know I'm doing the right things, and I'm not totally upset about losing slower either. On weigh day Friday I'll judge then to see if I might want to tinker with my goal. Hey there S4M, you're sooo close!!!

No honeymoon period....I can eat more than WAY MORE than I thought....BLAH!!!
Totally agree! Only one thing, I tried to make the switch to natural and I just couldn't get used to the taste. I switched back to my other PB - but it's still not a bad choice. That's something I really enjoy post op. 1 TBSP of PB snack will get me the rest of the evening which is usually my danger time. Here's the weird thing, I totally HATED PB pre op... If anyone likes the Natural that is definitely the best way to go though.

Leslie, I have to agree, total haters right there. I don't get a lot of that, but I have gotten that a few times already. I'm like, whatever... Re the Hubby - that is sooo cool, my hubby said something like that a few days ago, he referred to me as "my skinny wife"... Loved it!!!

How did you feel the first 2 weeks after you were sleeved?
My first few days were by far the very worst out of any days there after. I did not feel good at all (however, know that I was a revision surgery so mine would naturally be worse than others here). I was in a little pain, but the worse thing for me was the nausea. I did vomit one time. I had a little issue going potty too so they had to give me a catheter. The drain was a pest too... ugghhh... The first few weeks were tough, little food and calories getting in and it was hard getting enough fluids/water too. I felt very sluggish and tired, and almost in a cloud like state. This cloud didn't really lift until about 6 weeks out when I started to get more solid foods in, as well as being able to get my 64 oz minimum in. Today I feel perfectly normal and I'm happier than I've ever been in my life!!! I just wanted to keep it real on my first few weeks. It was NOT easy and I did go through it, but here I am now. I made it, and the rewards of the few awful weeks was worth it by far. HTH

No honeymoon period....I can eat more than WAY MORE than I thought....BLAH!!!
Excellent post Looou!!! It's true, I think it sounds like the 3 most things that can change Hip in your diet might be to eat less fruits or switch them for the less sugary types (if you have the patience for that) and in place perhaps switch them for higher Protein Snacks with more GOOD fats. I think fats are way too vilified... we NEED fats. Also, drink more water if you aren't already (I didn't see you mention that I don't think). Best of luck to you!!! We are all in this together, its really a learning curve, even for us ex bandsters.

@Coops and Chilo - I hear ya, it takes time for our brains to catch up with how we really look. I just wanted to tell you both that you have come a long way and I view you both as slender ladies. @Lily - They will come, believe me!!!

I fit my goal pants already...

I fit my goal pants already...
You know what chica, I'm stopping at 4's myself. Those 4's I bought are really freakin tiny, and something else I noticed... Kohl's doesn't have anything smaller than a 4. NO WAY!! I don't care if I'm 180 and fitting those 4's that's going to be it for me. Plus, I just bought a small cardigan today from Nordstroms Rack and it fits. Crazy - I know this I'm very close to being done for real. Besides once I get the skin removed, that will probably take off about 10 Lbs right there... LOL Kohl's is my favorite!! PS I'm already borderline looking like a crack head... lmao!

Hi Hip, you know some of us just simply lose slower than others. I am by definition in comparison to most others here a slow loser. I only lose about 8 to 10 Lbs per month, and one time I only lost 5 Lbs for the whole month. I know I've said this already but I'm also an ex-bandster. Me and my band did not get along at all and it did not help me lose weight, keep it off - not even keep me from eating too much. That's why I revised. Anyway, I would really hate that you just bailed on us! You WILL reach your goals, I do not doubt that in the least. I also believe you will go further than you dreamed too. I just think you're not giving yourself enough credit and not enough time for it to happen. You're not that far out of surgery - and as I see your ticker has moved since the last time I saw it, I'd say you're successful right now! I really hope you'll stick around, even if only sporadically. I really like watching other ex bandsters especially, as they have a special place in my heart. Just be patient with the process and Celebrate your victories - don't downplay them. They are all worthy of happiness.

My boyfriend left me because I added one picture to this site!!!
Wow... how to respond to this? Well, all I can tell you is that he did you a huge favor. If he wants to leave you for this, then to be honest he was probably looking for a way out regardless. Also, when times get tough, how can you trust that he would be there for you anyway? When you have a boyfriend/girlfriend it's usually a trial period for the bigger stuff - lifetime partnership/family making... Things like this are a huge indicator of how they will be with you for the duration. He scored an F in my book. I know the feelings are still raw as it just happened, but you can't and won't need that kind of drama in your life right now. Weight loss and WLS is a very difficult thing alone - you really won't want too many distractions. Best of luck!

I fit my goal pants already...
Hey FindingMe - thanks!! I kept a lot of old clothes from way back 20 years ago. Levi's are my absolute favorite jeans - no doubt about it. I have some super cute Levi's that I outgrew those 20 years ago and I always wanted to get back into them. Some are size 13's and some are 14's. I'm just now starting to fit into them, and those are such an achievement... I seriously started to think I'd never be able to again. Now these are back in the day before random and vanity sizing - so it's quite the accomplishment!!! Hi Knee, welcome to the BEST support website you will find for the VSG! An NSV = Non scale Victory - for all the wonderful things that accompany weight loss, that is not defined by the scale. HTH

To Go or Not to Go Back to the ER
I'm thinking it could be the way the scar tissue forms. Of course I have no facts at all to back that up, it just seems to make sense. Again, Erin wishing you well! (((hugs)))

4th of July - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???
Looks like it's coming off a little slow. I'm not upset, in reality I've passed most of my biggest goals I've set for myself already. Truthfully I'm in a comfort zone where if I only lost a pound a week I'd be very happy with that. The only other biggest goal left is my final goal. Right now my race is to get as far away from the 2's as I can without getting too skinny. I do want to keep my curves... hopefully! LOL It could just be I need to get used to how I look now (but that's a whole other topic!! ) Congrats Challengers, you are all doing AWESOME!!!! ____________________________________________ SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal LilMissDiva.....199.6..............197...............180............17

Introduction 275 to lose
WELCOME Jenny!!! Thanks for sharing your story with us. You will love your sleeve if you are anything like me. It's truly the one best thing I've ever done for myself. You have your work cut out for you, 30 Lbs is a good amount. However I know you can do it! One thing that has worked well for me is walking... that is my fall back workout and as long as I'm doing this, I'm losing weight. Good luck and many blessings on your journey ahead. Read up here as much as you can, and don't be afraid to ask all the questions you can think of!!!
