Question for those who have had their band out & been sleeved
Hi there, well I was instructed to do 7 days very low carb diet. However I did 2 weeks instead and I don't regret doing this one bit. I already went through the "last meal syndrome" before my band. Schucks if I come to find out I didn't miss out on anything! The only thing I couldn't eat anymore was all the good healthy food. Anything junky or bad I had zero issues eating... The ONLY thing right now that I wish I had done before being sleeved is having found out about this procedure before being banded. However, that's neither here nor there because I didn't know. Good luck to you!! You're on the right path already simply because you have chosen an excellent WLS option.

Callanetics: 10 Years Younger in 10 Hours
I've found this treasure when I was a teenager some 20+ years ago. My ex-Stepmother had a copy of this book and I took it an read it. Suffice to say I never returned it... LOL :-) I still do have it to this day. It is by FAR the best workout book I have ever (well I can't say bought... haha) came across. I have been getting many requests for tips on how I'm being able to keep my shape the way I am. I'd say there are several factors to this. Firstly, eating low carb... it does help with belly flab!! Believe that. Low carb eaters have much flatter tummies than those who do not. Second, my running really is helping sculpt a very lean body structure. I can't say enough about this!! I don't think I've EVER been able to get my legs to cooperate as much as I can right now with looking thinner all the time. Third, and this is what I'm sharing here with you all. It is called Callanetics: 10 Years Younger in 10 Hours. Best. Muscle toning workout. EVER!!! It does NOT bulk you up. I have a hard time keeping this from happening which is why I don't really do a lot of weight training. I don't want to look like a bodybuilder! I could get this way very easily. Instead these workouts only tone and sculpt a very lean and sexy figure, for both women AND men. There are testimonial pages showing this within the book. I just now bought the complimentary DVD's and I am planning to take these workouts to a whole new level. I hope this inspires some! I'm not kidding these workouts are pretty amazing. Little known in the workout world but so worth it if you find it. FYI, some of the DVD's are a waste and are not created by the original founder of these workouts. If it's not by Callan Pinckney, don't waste your money on it. *hugs* Callanetics: 10 Years Younger in 10 Hours http://www.amazon.com/Callanetics-10-Years-Younger-Hours/dp/0688037879/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

30 Day Challenge Accountability Thread
Fruits are not mandatory, they are suggestive only. I do need some carbs as my workouts are hours worth and there's no way I could maintain them on 30g of carbs or less. I put a cap of 5 serving per day (which I still don't even eat that much) on it, but did not put a minimum. HTH

The BOD POD
Six months will be perfect. That is a very slow time of year for me at work and would not be expected to worry so much about it. It would be nice if we could also get more of us NorCal sleevers to come too. Call it the BodPod party... LOL

From: 30 Day Challenge... get ready to kick some butt here!
Hi Luvtheatre and welcome!!! Hello all, today is DAY 1 and we have 29 DAYS LEFT TO GO. So the fun has only begun today and yet I'm rocking and rolling on this one!!! Ohhh goodness it would be nice to see a dip on the scale in a few days!! If not though, oh well. I'm more a Size Goalie rather than a Scale Goalie. I did great today!! I'm sooo ready for this. I haven't really been on plan in a month now and thank goodness I have not gained, and the inches are still coming off but not a whole lot. It's nice to know that even when I don't try the inches still melt away. Very very interesting. Anyway I do hope everyone else did well too! If not, that's ok tomorrow is a new day. As for myself I'm going to give it MY ALL!! I would really really love to finally being able to say I'm truly and undoubtedly done. Hugs to all!!! Here's my totals for today: Breakfast: Power Protein Shake & Small Banana Snack: 6 Oz Light Blueberry Yoplait Lunch: 3 Chicken Wings Snack: String Cheese & ½ Serving Sunflower Kernels Dinner: White Chicken breast meat Stir Fry with Broccoli & Bok Choi, and Grated Cauliflower Snack: Fage 2%, 1 Serving This is surely adding up to over 60g protein today!! Whoohooo!!! Water totals are: 105 oz. Workouts: 1 Hour Treadmill, 30 Minutes on Stationary Bike and 30 Mins Calisthenics. Source: 30 Day Challenge... get ready to kick some butt here!

30 Day Challenge... get ready to kick some butt here!
GOOD MORNING SUNSHINES!!! The challenge has officially begun. I will post my dailies here once the sun has gone down to keep me going. I'm going to log my food intake, my workouts and general demeanor for the day. REALLY GONNA PUSH IT FOLKS!!! I'm super close to where I'll be totally comfortable stopping. I'm not sure how many of you already know this but I've already hit my goal from where I said I wanted to end up in my journey. That being in a size 8. Well I'm already fitting some size 6's and 8's so therefore I have hit my goal technically. However, I do still see some things I'd like to work on, so I've furthered my goal to Size 4's. I do probably expect to be there in about 20 more Lbs give or take. So... I have started these challenges to keep me motivated until I get there. Likely I'll need to do a few of these!! That's ok, I'm up for the challenge!!! GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO ARE PARTICIPATING!!!

Attention Scale Addicts!
Hi myezzence, well - your 3rd week stall sounds like it could be right around the corner, if you should get this. First thing to do is not panic! Don't worry, if you keep staying on course your weight will eventually pick back up. That said, it sounds like you are really doing amazing things with your weight loss already -- CONGRATULATIONS!!!! As far as your eating is concerned, I also had a hard time acclimating my new sleeve over into mushies and solids when my plan called for it. What I did in the beginning was just chose one meal per day to eat as a mushy or a solid (when you get there). Not everything agrees with our sleeves so the main concern should be to eat very very slowly, take tiny bites and even wait a few minutes between each bite. Especially after the first one to see if your sleeve takes to it or not. If you feel nauseated or uncomfortable in any way, don't force it, stop immediately. Then at that point, put that new food on the shelf for a month and go back to see if you can tolerate it at a later time. Don't worry if you can't get all your foods in, some of us just take a little bit longer. Protein Drinks or supplements can be tricky for a lot of folks. I've liked Isopure in the past but it can have a very strong taste. In the beginning your main intake should be fluids. If you can't meet all your protein needs in the first month do not worry. You are pretty much in line with most others. Definitely do your best to get all or most of your Water in though! My suggestion would be to maybe water down the Isopure so the flavor isn't too demanding. Also, special K makes a nice Protein Drink that isn't as strong as Isopure. It does only have 5g per serving but as I always tell others, some protein is better than no protein. Try watering down all your protein drinks. Again, even getting a little bit is better than getting none. Try www.vitalady.com - she will send you single servings of many different and popular protein choices. They are all very good and high quality. I do suggest the Syntrax nectars. They are very good, but again those do only have 6g of protein, so if you're trying to get more you might want to make other choices right now. I hope this helps!!

Spouse or Sig other
You are a good Wife, just keep fighting for your marriage. It really sounds like just because he is not laying in bed all day that he may still be depressed. I'm sure he feels your discord toward him. Is he on medication or at least talking to someone about his mental status? He has to fight for your marriage just as much as you are. It's 50/50 but sounds more like 100/0... Of course I have not an idea of what's really going on so I'm just going by what you're sharing here. I don't think you are a B at all. Things like this always have 3 sides to every story. I just want you to know no matter what the case you will always have support here. xoxo

Clothing/size question
Hi Gayle, wow congrats so far on your losses!!! You're rocking your sleeve girlie!! Next, usually for the larger sizes you will stay in them much longer than you will the smaller ones. I went through my first sizes a little fast, but I literally stayed in 18's for about 40 Lbs I think. Now in my smaller sizes they are lasting around 7-10 Lbs each. I hope this helps! Don't feel discouraged. You will get there. Time will pass the inches will melt away into smaller clothes.
