  1. @@Butterflysecrets I'm revising from sleeve to bypass on Wednesday. How do you feel? I'm looking forward to some reflief from this horrible reflux.
  2. @@Alex Brecher thank you! I will update asap @@Ginger Snaps that sounds like such a miracle right now. I was refluxing in my sleep really bad last night. It's just so awful and looking forward to not having to live like this anymore! Thank you for that vote of confidence.
  3. For face moisturizing/cleaning I only wash with dove soap and exfoliate with apricot scrub. I use L'Oreal face cream with collagen and it helps a lot. I don't think I look too bad for being 40 years young. Makeup I use only L'Oreal from the drug stores but I do prefer either Shiseido or Estee Lauder and of course I love Chanel anything. Have fun! You only live once.
  4. And I am so ready for it. Sick of being sick and tired of being tired. Reflux keeping me up at night and coughing like a chain smoker all day, it gets in the way of my health, and soon it would get in the way of my life. It's not a risk I'll take at all so into the surgery room I go like a strong woman that I am. I'm hopeful my recovery will only be 3 weeks, I want to get back to work ASAP. I'm looking forward to feeling like my old self again, energized and ready for the day! Carpe Diem!
  5. @@Jack yay you made the spotlight!! You've always been one of my favorites. Good for you.
  6. IT'S JULY!! Wow it got here really fast! Anyone having surgery today, God bless and fast healing. Mine is on the 9th... it's so close wow! Tomorrow will be exactly one week.
  7. @@Nicey2u it was around 15 months post op. Just keep working toward your goal, since this is a lifestyle change you will get there. Stay on track!
  8. I have to do the liquid diet for 2 weeks pre-op. They make everyone do it, even tho I don't need to lose even close to what other people need to lose. Mines a revision but they're still making me do it. *sigh* but I will because I follow directions. Good luck to all! July is only 1 week away!!
  9. @@Bandarella never give up finding answers - I'm hoping the best for you.
  10. Please consult your medical professionals about this, ASAP.
  11. I think dying hair is damaging to the cuticles and ends so if you're really worried then wait a little longer. That said, I have dyed my hair several months post op and I don't think it made my hair loss any worse than if I hadn't dyed my hair. Good luck.
  12. For anyone who has followed me knows that I've surely had many ups, downs, complications, BUT I also had the blessing of celebrating many victories along the way. I would NEVER trade any of those victories to give back any of my complications. I believe with all my heart that if I did not have WLS(s) I would be one of those folks showcased on My 600Lb Life. I would be very super obese, and living a miserable, unhappy and worse, unhealthy existence. I was already well into the 300's by the time I was in my 20's. I was headed for disaster! The most sad fact is, I probably wouldn't even be here right now typing all of this out. I might have been stroked out by now, as I was diagnosed with HBP at 31 years old, and I had an uncle who died from complications of that disease when he was only 44. I'm turned 40 in December. I would probably not even be alive... as scary a thought as that is. I am forever thankful to myself that I loved me enough to do whatever it took to save me. How about you? How do you think your life would have played out if you didn't have your WLS?
  13. So many people do have real and credible complications from surgery. I think it's a little unnecessary to put them in the "crazy" category, they are only sharing their life experience. It is a hard decision to make, but just make sure you're making the right one for yourself.
  14. You will be able to anything you want post op eventually. I highly suggest you not do that to yourself, you're only adding extra pounds to lose after that you don't have to. Good luck to you, none of this is easy. Love yourself enough to NOT binge until surgery day.
  15. @@nerms - you have gained my respect, what a wonderful thing you want to do! Mine is more simple, I want to make millions by doing nothing. but since that's probably not in the cards for me I'm actually quite happy with my career right now. It gives me tons of free time to do what I enjoy. Getting my education and communicating with like minded folk. I do plan to write some books and educate people on WLS and proper eating, but at this time there's no money in that. So in order to live comfortably I need a steady income and my job now more than provides that.
  16. I did keep my sleeve surgery quiet for a few months because everyone knew about my lap band and I didn't want to discuss having a revision. I doubted anyone would understand - but eventually I told everyone who asked how I was losing the weight. I always said I had WLS and I eat healthy and workout. Some people would ask me more, some wouldn't. I guess I'm just always very confident in all the choices I make and I welcome a challenge when someone speaks negatively about it. I go out of my way to discuss it with them, and I'm proud to say there is only one person who's mind I was never able to change. I'm okay with that, she's entitled to her opinion and she's a nice lady. That said, telling or not is def a personal choice. I don't typically partake in those posts because I can only see it my way which is "own it" like the OP said. I know lots of great WLS folks who don't talk about it to their family & friends and I still adore them just as much if they did.
  17. Life is extremely frustrating Pre-Op and immediately Post-Op. Every single Dr. on earth is also only human and they are going to use their personal life experiences on what they feel works best for their own patients, and it might not even be similar to another Dr - or there might be some variations and similarities to how they feel. Such as I'm sure every surgeon will tell you to Drink Your Water. Things like that. The only REAL advice for which you should follow exactly is the one your surgeon has provided you. Otherwise listening to opinions of others on the internet will get you down and you might even get sick. You certainly don't want that, but I also want to point out everyone chiming in is only doing so out of a good place, they don't want to see anyone hurt themselves. If you need a break for a little while take one, I know I do that sometimes. But I have to tell you that getting all the support you can get will far more benefit you than not. Good luck!
  18. My surgery is on July 9th. Yes being put under is always nerve wrecking! I like to control things so being under anesthesia is a bit scary not knowing whats going to happen.
  19. Hey ladies! So, only about 3 more weeks for me and I start my pre-op liquid diet on the 25th. My pre op diet is standard across the board for everyone. My surgery is also a revision from sleeve to bypass. How is everyone feeling right now? I'm excited for sure!
  20. It gets better trust me I was feeling like that at first too but I feel great most of the time now.
  21. @@blessed7 join the July bypass support group! Yay!!
  22. On top of BGP great suggestions, get your Iron (ferrous sulfate) however you can. Find them in chews or liquid form. Repeat always take your supplements, especially Daily Multi's / Iron / B-12 and get plenty of Water. Minimum 64 oz per day. If you are especially concerned it wouldn't hurt to call your surgeon. Good luck!
  23. I've never heard of this happening before and I've been around for awhile. Though I can say it being impossible to vomit sounds great. Just be extra careful when you eat and never over eat, I'm sure you will be fine.
