What a strange question to ask on a weightloss board. But... I want a digital camera and have NO idea how to chose one. Like everything else, there is the good, better, best ones. Just wondering from you guys which one is the 'better' one - and the easiest to operate. ($200 price range) Oh, and Ive been shopping for one - MANY times - still nothing. Thats why Ive decided to come here and ask you. Thanks!

Someone told me that when they are little, that its little problems and when they are big, its BIG problems! Kids... does anyone have an original copy of their handbook?? mine didnt come with one.

Bright, I have no answers for you . I just wanted to say that this is a great question to ask - regardless of band type, and like you, I will be waiting to read the results.

Oh Brenda, I pray also for the insurance to cover this. Thanks for the slippage information. It is very - VERY important that we understand that slipped bands *most of the time* give very little symptoms and sometimes show itself as someone who may be a tad bit over restricted. VALUABLE information to keep on hand!

Tomorow's opportunity for me to have this test has suddenly changed (no help with childcare). I just looked at your numbers and *unbelievable* you are doing fantastic! Lisa, this is devistating news! For the banded, as well as the unbanded. Lots to comprehend! I pray that you will recover well from all of this - goodness, what a mess! Give yourself a pat on the back for listening to your body and seeking other medical help. One thing though, your mention of an ulcer causing erosion has me concerened. Im wondering what happens if someone banded does develops an ulcer - is it treatable without harming the band? (in your case you mentioned that the ulcer was just forming... Im wondering about one that is full-blown). I guess it depends on the time frame of having the ulcer and the band... ??? just wondering.

Hi Trish! I (thankfully) didnt have to have a psych. evaluation. I DID have to meet with a dietitian though. My insurance required one or the other; so I chose the other. I thought the same thing! Like Katerzz said, my dietitian was also very helpful with educating me on eating post-banding. VERY helpful! Good luck!

I cant see your band - Ive looked, thought it was going to be BRIGHT/white, easy to see. Is it below your 'upper' pouch'? So, other then reflux, you had no other symptoms - none? What about restriction? One last question... what is a revision?

Thanks Leatha and Michelle! You two are great! Mary, everything has happened since this 2nd fill. Started with the reflux, and thats been an adjustment right there. Another strange thing is that often I sound like a frog - (dont laugh) a 'ribbit' sound coming up my throat, Im sure is gas/air/whatever. But the latest is this 'crackle' feeling in my chest area... weird, huh? The crackle happens about twice a week at night. Ive thought about different things it could be related to, but Im clueless. Do you remember the Pop Rock candy we ate as kids? that crackle feeling? THAT is what it feels like, like I swallowed some of that Pop Rock candy. So? enough is enough, goin' get a test! Hey Leatha, when I called my surgeons office to schedule this, they asked what kind of problems I was having. During the discussion, the girl I was talking to said that IF a patient has a slipped band they would NOT be able to keep down anything, not even a sip of Water. ???

Hi Lauren, Michelle is right, its gas causing the pain in your shoulder. Its very normal, most of us have had it. Try walking around - as much as you can tolerate. You can actually FEEL those little gas bubbles traveling while you walking. Good luck, and WELCOME to Bandland!

Its been almost 7 months now since my banding. And since Im still having reflux at night (along with other strange sensations), I have an Upper GI scheduled for Tuesday morning. What exactly can they see with the 'Upper GI'? Are they able to see the band and how its working? Basically, is THIS the proper test to have when you want everything checked out?

That is EXACTLY what I would do. I would rather be safe, then sorry.

Mary, From what I understand its the only ADD/ADHD med that is not a narcotic (non-addictive). For a better 'feeling' about it, talk with your pharmicist. They are the ones that get the good and bad opinions on all of this stuff (I used to work in a pharmacy ) I have a 9yr old - and I would give this med to him!

My first fill was 1.6cc's in a 4cc band.

Ethel (and Leatha), Out of curiosity, did the doctor mention giving you a discount on this second surgery? My thought is what IF your insurance will not pay - will the doctor just remove it, or will he replace it??? Or just leave it alone till you can afford to do something?

and its no-sugar added (splenda) - which makes me feel like Im REALLY saving on calories!!! Something cute - the Turtle Sundae flavor has little chocolate turtles mixed into the ice cream. Kelly, I like both about the same. Betty, trust me - they are good!
