  1. worked for me.. and look now we are all friends .. it may be something with the browser. or your settings who knows.. Let alex know your having trouble.
  2. LOVE IT - and it was almost like getting to see you in person.. that is so great that they are highlighting how great the lap band is and how well you have done.
  3. So when i shower i normally grab one of 3 towels to use.. they are the EXTRA large beach towel.. but last night as i was behind on laundry i had to use a normal one.... It covered EVERYTHING.. I could not believe what i was not seeing.....
  4. Welcome this is has been once of my better choices in life both getting the band and finding this site.
  5. love the advise from steph2012.. cut your self some slack vacation is time for relaxing.. just choose the best food options and make sure to at least walk every day if you are truly worried about gaining.. you may just surprise your self ... and come back leaner and fitter than before you went. as i find it's easier to lose when your relaxed v's when your stressed. enjoy.. and send us all a postcard
  6. through out life people will come and go some will make an impact on your life some won't - don't let her impact you in a negative way.. you are doing what you need to do for you. without the lap-band i don't doubt that rather than being 40lbs down at this point in my life my scale most likely would be topping 300lbs at this point as that is they way i was headed.. Keep it up and let no one change you.
  7. I don't have any better advise than what was given above but wanted to say hope you feel better soon I've been fighting a cough all week so it's i know it's no fun to be sick and have the added worry of will i hurt the band... let us know how your doing...
  8. thanks guys.. i know i shouldn't have been worrying if the docs office was all that's normal. it's just comforting to know your not alone
  9. Ok so saw the office Tuesday for a check up and a fill. That all went normal down 6lbs on their scale so YEA me ... however i asked them about a pain that i have been getting on my left side where i would imagine the Lapband is. it's not port related more internal... any way when i asked and explained the related symptoms and occurrences they told me it was all normal and nothing to worry about. so being that it's "normal" have any of you had mild pain in your left Band area - accompanied with Gas and or the urge to use the bathroom? It can be quite uncomfortable but have noticed if i manage to burp the sensation will go away not completely but doesn't last too much longer and also if i have to use the bathroom . I was told that gas is and will always be an issue with the lapband and i knew that. i guess i just had not translated that to pain. so just kind of wondering if i'm alone with my weirdness
  10. thanks guys.. the 1400 cal thing is a once a week to try and keep my body on it's toes so to speak the usual intake is less than 1200 a day.. but on the exercise front i think that may be the issue all i do is walk perhaps it's time to try something different. though i tried running on the treadmill and with all the shaking and giggling ... i figured i need to lose a few more inches before that becomes a safe activity.
  11. mine too.. i am stumped on how to move past this. - though the bloated thing has got me down too i'm wondering if this is why i don't see much change on my scale.. so i'm sitting here chugging my water in an extra extreme effort to increase the water intake reduce the caloreis intake again and see what i can do
  12. so the start of my journey was amazing the lbs just seemed to melt away for the first 3 months starting with my pre op diet i have managed to lose 38lbs. but lately and i mean the last 3/4 weeks i can not lose weight.. the inches don't seem to be shrinking.. i just can't get past this plateau.. i have a fill scheduled on Monday. i'm at 8cc in a 14cc band and some days i wonder if i have the band at all. other day's it's one mouthful of what ever and yup i'm reminded that i need to take it easy.. any way the reason for my post is for help and suggestions on how to push past this. i eat normally between 900 and 1400 calories a day. i work out or walk usually 2x a day 4 to 5 days a week. i'm just stumped as to why i am finding it so hard to lose weight..
  13. as i do most of my post reading in the am i will report what i did for yesterday.. yesterday i Just walked.. I walked away my frustration during work, I walked away the urge to say and do something stupid I walked away and away till i felt i could take on the rest of my day..
  14. I watch it once in a while and it's usually with morbid fascination... i'm usually channel surfing and come across the show and then it's like watching a freight train wreck.. really horrible but you just can't look away. I do agree with an earlier post that shows like this just seem to take advantage of the process with a view to making money and that most of them do seem to gain their weight back - which mostly seems to be from a lack of support. that their families don't seem to be on board with truly wanting to help them. one episode that comes to mind was where the guy had lost the use of his legs and arms and his MOTHER was feeding him taco's after his WLS i truly just wanted to yell Shame on you... shows like that tend to give all WLS a bad name as they don't seem to truly highlight all the wonderful success stories many of which are right here on this board. But it's certainly a cautionary tale of where we all could end up with out any kind of intervention.
  15. ok yesterday i did 35 mins on the elliptical and then walked for 40mins with some girlfriends when i got home from work.... going to see if i can keep that going.
  16. Love it what an eye opener.. i really needed that.. here i was all sad because my scale only says 38 lost.. but heck if some one was to ask me to carry around what equals about 27 grapefruits i would think they where insane...
  17. looks like we are all pretty similar i was banded on the 19th i'm almost to the 40lbs down and i know on average i'm right where i should be but the weeks where it hardly moves at all is what drives me insane.. i eat ~1200 cal's a day.. with one day a week where i let my self go a little crazy and eat maybe 1500 to 1700 cals ... slow is best in terms of having to deal with excess skin..just one day at a time... just wish sometimes i could fast forward
  18. thanks guys.. i know it's crazy to feel this way - in my heart i know i'm looking and feeling so much better it's really driving me crazy i can't be happy about it. as you all said one day at a time.
  19. so as i wasn't sure what to title this i thought i'd start writing first with the hope it would come to me as i typed. I've been banded 4mts now and am down almost 40lbs. when i share that number with folks they go WOW that is a LOT.. the small voice in the back of my head go YES it is.. so why is it i find that i can take no joy from my success. that when i get on the scale and see that it has hardly moved the urge to cry is almost uncontrollable. I know i need to bury the scale... but having it helps keep me accountable to myself.. it doesn't help that i scared the heck out of myself last night i got home starting and inhaled my dinner.. yes i know that's a big no no.. but any way later on the cough the pain in my stomach/port was almost unbearable and in fact i was getting up to call the doc as i was that worried when i burped.... and guess what the pain decreased almost right away.. by bed time it was almost completely gone the office confirmed this am it was just trapped gas that eating quickly will 1.. sometimes cause stuck moments or 2 can lead to too much air being ingested which will cause gas.... i'm just sure when i went from being on such a high from having the surgery and seeing the first big loss in years to this sad mopey person.. can some one just kick me? any one else feeling this? well i guess i just wanted rant for a while. typign and reading what i wrote already makes me want to shake myself
  20. NewMeDebbie - i guess it's not called bandster hell for nothing .. i have similar probe my weight goes up and down and hangs around the same weight then all of a sudden drops.. the goes up and down and hangs around the same. i've never had this trouble with losing before.. it was keeping it off that kicked me in the butt but then i think the difference now is that i am trying hard not to treat this like a diet but me finally having portion control. the will power to say no. to put that second helping back. Keep it up eventually things have to snap into place. .have you tried shaking up the number of cals you eat.. surprisingly i do well after a high cal day. and that lately i find i do a little better when i make sure i drink enough water and that along with exercise i eat enough cals for the day. i feel i'm close to green i can go a while now between meals but it is still very hard for me to stop eating at the right amount if i don't measure and weigh i will finish my plate and i can still pretty much eat anything but i just have to chose not to. we have got this... and with perserviance we will
  21. it just occurred to me that while at the gym i put on socks on while standing on one leg and bringing my foot up to the Sock WTF when did that happen... Normally my gym work out was just putting on socks
  22. i think i work with those folks too.. there is a consent stream of JUNK food we even have a schedule for who is to bring in food for staff.. well they ain't getting doughnuts and chips from me.. not sure what i'll bring them yet.. any suggestions. but as far as what they bring i just make sure to drink a shake before staff and stay away from the junk.. keep up the good work.
  23. wow that sucks and like RJ said go get them...
